I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 27), I played this for Sunday School Assembly.

Why all the fermatas? The choir sounds wonderful, but the Conductor stole the intended majesty of the piece by breaking the main idea from phrase to phrase. Conductor took way too many liberties and why is he conducting with a baton for a spiritual? He needs to do a bit more studying before leading another group..

I sang this in college and have been looking for the name of the composer on this for years! This performance was great!
The song itself, In DulcilJubilo, can be traced back to the middle ages. This particular arrangement by Camp Kirkland has been around for approximately 25 years and may be out of print now.

Haydn composed The Creation in English, not German.
I like so much the English version of Haydn'c Creation...much more than the German one. Thank you for posting it!
