He was a football savant. As an Oregon fan, I hated playing the Cougars, once Leach got things rolling, Oregon couldn’t beat them. Always did well with players that weren’t as highly recruited.

This is the last game he coached for Texas Tech.

This was just at the time Baylor was moving up quickly from being dead last and everyone’s shitcan to winning 10 games a year. If I remember right their head coach had adopted the air raid offense as well, started grabbing up players Tech usually got, etc. It marked the decline of Techs consistently having a winning season into mediocrity.

She's half my age and I'm amazed by her confidence. She never stops surprising me. She's smart and articulate. She's confident, but not cocky. This is probably one of my favorite interviews of her.

This is how I felt about Kansas State tonight. Eff this team. Eff the coaching. Eff everyone! Eff myself! But Klieman will come out and be the softest f'ing coach there is in the country. What a f'ing joke! This coach literally is a prophesy for how shitty Kansas State would be in 2023. Oh yeah top lineman in country? Bull f'ing shit. These coaches are a f'ing fraud, the line is a fraud, and Will Howard is the biggest fraud of them all!

I watch this several times a year - a true American Treasure. RIP Mike.

He came to Pullman and purged the bad mentality out of that program. I didn't think he could do it. It took a few years, but he did. For a while, it actually was a snowball staying in Hell, without melting. The mentality still exists in the older fan base (including those who were pissed Paul Wulff was fired) but it left the players and athletic dept., primarily because the players worked their tails off. Some people have short memories sometimes, particularly those who had their feelings hurt because he only won the Apple Cup once. It's only after his death that many WSU fans (not enough) realize the herculean effort it took to turn the program around. His postgame press conferences were actually better after losses than wins. Thank goodness there eventually become more wins and not as fun postgame pressers.
