Not sure who to credit this to but its a good watch for Bradfordians. You might want to watch without sound
All the good pubs have gone now
My sister bought one...Wonderful looking thing which brought back all those childhood memories flooding back (of course this clown turning the credits was just as good as the musical box opening at the beginning) almost like the real thing, even down to the jigger, slow motion, like this one seen here, it worked (for a for a few weeks) and then never again...I'd be very surprised Douglas if yours is still working some 6 years on? I looked into a little more for her, sold in 2003 in limited numbers of up to 2,000 but nearly all seem to have this FLAW, the winding of the key works for a few weeks / months? and then the strength of the mechanism just won't support BOTH the winding of the Musical Box part inside and the feed to the figure on the outside, which is why MOST still plays the music box OK, but very sadly the motion part of the clown turning the credits does not :( still, some 20 years on, it still looks great & despite the flaws are highly collectible & difficult to find on the secondary market, sis will NEVER part with hers & I don't blame her...just the look of it & the fact it plays the music is good enough, but what a shame they couldn't have TESTED it OUT MORE before rolling them out.
0:13 down there and turn left, Wharf Street. I lived there for 5 years - unfortunately
The reminisce of a past civilisation completely erased from history by political groups Labour, Conservative all working together to destroy England
The clown you posted is awesome have the same one but doesn’t work unfortunately. You know the brand name?.
Bradford won the City of Culture 2025 this evening as announced on BBC The One Show. Well Done Bradford!!! ❤️🧡🖤
Farsley is in leeds.
My box works as far as the music will play but the roll with the titles on will not go round. Any suggestions.
If you had the nerve? and was willing to risk it Paul, then it's clear that there are two parts to this, this top part with all these things on top, the clown & board etc, sadly there are no screws to safely remove it to see the inside which will host the musical box & the section leading from it or the key to this clown figure, if I were to try & remove my sisters I'm sure it would get messed up, marked, scratched, with paint loss :( so I wouldn't try, live with this flaw (it seems most (if not ALL) have it) the only other suggestion take it to an expert...OR...if in the UK..."The Repair Shop" experts seen on BBC, they're clever & would almost certainly improve the design of it's inner workings....real shame though.
@@paulconway9745 Yes, you are probably right, I wouldn't want to cock it up just for the sake of trying to put it right. I will just have to live with it and after all, it does look rather nice anyway.
@@paulcarew593 It is a bit of a shame, my guess is Paul that if one were to open up this box & take a peek inside then we would find the reason the clown struggles with any power to rotate this credits board is due to the key (looking at the angle it enters this box) heading into this Music Box first & it then most likely then leads to another section from it powering OR NOT as seems the case this clowns movements...I bet the company that made it, if they had the chance again, would almost certainly have two keys to power each OR even an electronic component to power the clown, like I said a bit of a shame but she still loves it, you do too, so do I & being as there are ONLY 2,000 in the world, it's no wonder not that many show up on that secondary market as they're so cool, flawed or not...Enjoy it my friend, it still makes me smile when I get to see it. All the Best.
Yo how much
I want the music box
Ah this is nice.
love the song
how much was this to buy?
I believe they were rather pricey when bought brand new in 2003, my sister bought one a little later, complete with box & I think it cost her about £65 P&P included but that was a good many years ago now, I sometimes check to see if any show up on E BAY & if they are listed as still FULLY WORKING? if so they'll fetch a premium I bet, curiously, there are very few to be found, which probably tells you that A) Owners won't sell them because like my sister SHE LOVES IT anyway OR B) Possible sellers may feel uneasy selling it not fully working, even if fully explained that they nearly ALL have faults, especially now some 20 years on. I wonder if Douglas's is still working? If so he's incredibly lucky & my guess is you might get £100+ for it fully working?
Scammonden is not in Bradford. In fact quite a few of these images are not in Bradford. Why title it as Bradford?
Always go Bradford love it
