I reallllllyyyyy hope that thing takes pictures when it trips! I am sure the guys at the police station would be rolling on the floor laughing at that! It is also a good way to make sure it gets back on your street fairly often as well for future speed runs! LOL!!!

Great Video!! I, like many other commenters here, had passed this kit up many times. I finally broke down and bought it at Hobby Lobby during the 40% off sale. It does go together quite well despite the engine being part of the chassis. I did mine in a Krylon Black Cherry Shimmer Metallic with the silver trim on the bottom. It turned out pretty awesome looking when it was finished.

That looked like fun out there sliding around and kicking up dirt! Clods are fun ones in general and I love the Orange Soda body you did for it, classic cool!

This is a great video. It brings back memories of my own 1985 Z28. I bought it in August of 1985. It was the same color, and wheels as this model. My car had the TPI 305 as opposed to the kit's carburated engine. One other detail I noticed was the exhaust. My car had a single muffler with dual outlet tail pipes. It did have a very low restriction and a nice roar under acceleration. My car met its end at an intersection when a lady ran a stop sign. My car and I were totaled. The side road she was on intersected a highway I was traveling on at 65 Mph. I skidded 31 feet before impact. It was a large collision.

Did I see that you used the new plastic belt cover (from the 2022 re-pop) instead of the old polycarbonate? If so did you have any problems with it fitting? I really want to do a deep clean of my original 87 Optima Mid but I am worried about how I would replace the belt cover.
