Well, tbf, the sienta hybrid is not a race car per se and was never designed for performance but value. A few tweak I would recommend to give it that oomph feel without lag on acceleration is to change the spark plugs, instant burst feel when launch.

Bang, so agree the Touran mark1a/1b is really good. Shld try the newer 2015/16 Touran mark 2. Even more shiok!!!! The touran 1.4TSI engine is equipped with a supercharger (normally called the compressor, which is a rootsblower compressor driven by the air-con compressor belt) to give very low RPM torque. Then transition to a turbocharger (driven by the car exhaust), either both working together or turbocharger completely take over. This car has a pick-up torque higher than a 2.4L Toyota Camry, so it moves off at a traffic light much faster than the Camry. Though HP (150) is lower than Camry (174), HP only defines the maximum speed. Picking up depends on torque, and the Touran has 250Nm, while camry only has 202Nm. DSG is an automated clutch gearbox. So u will hear more noises from it than a normal auto (torque convertor or chain-driven (CVT)) gearbox. But torque transfer from engine to wheels is always more efficient with the clutch. So great to hear from people who appreciate a great car!!! A cheap parts supplier for VW is Kian Hua (reasonable pricing). They are like a supermarket. Car drivers can go there to buy parts and bring to workshop for changing. May Peace be with You!

CVT is not always equipped with belting transmission. CVT is not a thing, it's a driving feel technology. For Toyota hybrid, transmission is using planetary gearsets with CVT driving feel. This technology has been used by public buses decades ago.
