I was not able to get a ticket for the days I will be near, is it worth getting there without the ticket?
@@AlfredoCastro1 When we went they did sell tickets day of. Double check the site but it certainly was possible.
It’s a lovely walk up to the castle. No need to take a bus at all
@@631rosie just that the walk down is easier. But it is beautiful either way.
Not if you are older in your 70's.
Super helpful video this was exactly my question to take an expensive tour or go it alone!
@@BAMatherne.realtor So glad to hear it. We only ever made these because we couldn't find answers to our questions. Enjoy! It's beautiful.

Hi
I am going to be there in October. Can I buy the online ticket one day early. Or should I buy much earlier?
@@sudheerbhat4005 I think you're ok one day early this time of year. It might still be busy but nothing like the peak summer months. Enjoy!
What a wonderful video! 🇪🇸✨ Your adventure in Barcelona in 2017 was fantastic and made us want to visit this beautiful city! The landscapes, architecture, and vibrant atmosphere are truly captivating. Thank you friend for sharing these special moments with us! We join your channel ! like 4 ❤🌍
I lived in Germany for a few years while I attended Heidelberg University and the only friendly helpful German I met the whole time I was there was my landlady. She was fabulous and brought me home cooked meals often. The rest of the Germans are unfriendly and rude for the most part.
What if you have a car rental? Can you drive up there? Is there parking?
@@tarotcardreadinglecturadec8015 Yes and yes. There's a good sized parking lot at the bottom, before you walk or take the bus to the top.
How do you pick up tickets if you go on your own with a tour?
@@andreaevans1795 Hey there. I think you're asking how to pick up tickets without a tour... You can buy onsite but I don't recommend it. It's packed. Here's the site to book in advance.... www.neuschwanstein.de/englisch/tourist/admiss.htm
I am freaking out because i did not know i need to book in advance. We are going in August. So my question is do cam we buy tickets there if we go really early
@@philipmurariu-botez7806 yes. Absolutely. Don't freak out. They sell tickets onsite.
Definitely buy tickets online in advance. I went there last month and it was sold out in the morning

Can you take a backpack insfe the castle?
@@stormstorm4407 unfortunately they did not allow backpacks in the castle when we went. I had a very small sling bag I travel with and they let me in with that.

Excellent tips - thank you
My sister and I are going in December. We are renting a car in Munich. We will be staying in Fussen. Great video!
Such a cool city. Enjoy it.
Are there any places at the bottom or around the castle where you can eat lunch or grab a nice snack?
Yes there are a few shops and quick bite type places. We went years ago so I'd recommend a quick Google search to see what's there today. Enjoy your trip!
You're awesome! thank you for the quick reply@@tonysayegh33
you butchered the name at the start :D I would actually get a hike from the mountain (there is a cable car) and get on the bridge from the other side. The castle itself is a little bit overated, Linderhof is much nicer. The tour inside the castle is ok, but DONT make any photos on the guided trip inside because they actually will kick you out for that (we had a guy like that on our trip). And mostly, dont overpay for guided trips. Rent a car! There are so many cool places nearby and if you dont go up the mountains then you need only 3h for the castle and got loads of time to check the other spots nearby.
I wish we'd have had a car. The entire area was beautiful.
I downloaded the rick Steve's app but couldn't find this castle's tour guide
We're planning on being there in December and I've seen videos that show there is a lot of snow there at that time. This doesn't bother me in the least as I love snow. We were also considering a tour but will look into getting there on our own by train. If they won't let you take photos inside then it's not worth it to me to go inside. I'm going to take photos mostly. Great advice.
My sister and I are going in December. We are flying into Munich and renting a car to drive there. I heard it wasn’t worth going inside and you can’t take pictures so we are only walking around it and going to the bridge.
Hi I have a questions, I’m planning on going there in two weeks, and I tried to book tickets online going inside, but it was booked up the day I’m going, I would guess the only way to get a ticket inside would be booked an expensive tour, is going inside the castle worth all that hassle or does it look better seeing it just from the outside and I make my own way there?
Hey there! I always try to respond to these types of questions with what worked best for us. I personally found the beauty and grandeur to be outside. That doesn't mean the inside tour wasn't interesting. It just means, I enjoyed the exterior better. And we were only inside for a total of about 30 minutes. In my opinion, that's definitely not worth standing outside in a line for what could potentially be over an hour. I hope this helps clarify a little bit. Enjoy your trip!
Great video easy on the ears ! You are cool people !!
Thanks, Tony for the amazing insights.
You're very welcome. Hope it helps!
Noy-shwan-stine. That's how to pronounce Neuschwanstein.
I look forward to your videos pronouncing it correctly!

Can you guide me where to buy bus tickets up to the castle. We plan to go there by train from Munich and take a bus from fussen to the castle I think bus stop at the base but I don't know where to buy a bus ticket from there up to the castle'
Hard to get there early with a 3 hr. + train ride. We have also heard that the 2 main viewing sites are both closed. That tip was from 2022. That info on the time limit inside makes it not the most important thing to do. Really great video and information.
It’s a 😮😮😮
I am heading there solo. Is it safe to hike the castle?
Yes. It's paved and there's plenty of people walking down that you should be good.
thanks u@@tonysayegh33
Thanks so much for your reply. Much appreciated it
We are driving by car to the castle. Do you have some tips on where to park the car ?
There is a souvenir shop in the video, where the shuttles pick you up. There are a couple dozen parking spots there. And since so many people visiting the castle come via a bus or tour, I think you're going to find parking just fine. Hope this helps!
Do you have any information on the boat tour?

Hi there. Thanks for a great video. Just wondering what your thoughts on taking a wheelchair user here would be?
Hi there. You'll be ok up to the castle and it's grounds, but not the bridge. And from what I remember, the inside the castle is not wheelchair friendly. I'd recommend checking out the site just in case. Good luck!
be careful on the bridge has a whole new meaning
Tragic
Great video & explanation..planning this part of the trip can be confusing. Question: Did you also go to Hohenschwangau Castle? Is it worth the extra ticket cost to see both Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau Castle? Thanks!
We did not make it there, but it was certainly on our to-do list. We just didn't have enough days in Germany. Ultimately we decided on Neuschwanstein alone. If your itinerary and schedule permit, and it's something important to you, I would say check out both!
You not stating the name of the crappy tour bus company sounds very counter productive to why you make videos. I took that tour bus and it was totally over rated and tour guild even swindled extra money from us. So please put the name of that company so people won't make that mistake like we did. The tour inside of the castle was a waste of money as well. We waited over an hour in the freezing rain and the 15 minute tour inside totally sucked.
I agree. I hate bad mouthing companies because I truly believe that guide ruined it for us. But I guess a heads up is worth it good or bad. Noted.
If you were smart, you wouldn’t be on a bus.
Is one day enough if you want to see the castle from multiple angles from different hikes?
In my opinion, absolutely. We met people that spent the entire day checking it out, and hiking near by. There's also paragliding if you're into that.
@@tonysayegh33Did you guys go to Zugspitze as well?
@@pepepena1937 No we did not but I've had it flagged and waiting to go back for years!
Take two days if you really want to see it all.
@@pepepena1937that’s on the Austria border dude. Plan a separate day.
Where do I buy the tickets to get inside the castle? In Fussen or at the castle? Thanks
When we went, tickets into the castle were sold on-site. I'm almost certain you can buy them on the official website ahead of time, as well.
Thank you for the info. Very helpful indeed. We are planning to visit in October. Can't wait!
Awesome! That's good weather at that time too. Enjoy!

Very good. Enjoy your time.
Is it too far or is it possible to see the tower from Marais? Do you know if there is any hotel in Marais with a rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffeltower?
Not 100% sure but that's a pretty good distance from the tower.
Thank you for the tips!
You need to learn how to pronounce the name of this castle!
Yeah! We do! Great!
Thanks for the tips
Great video we're planning to be in France this June, it will be my 2nd time in France and her 1st time.
Hello, do you think worth it to visit the castle inside and make the guided tour inside the castle? Thanks.
I hate to sound so vague but I honestly think it's up to you. In my opinion the beauty and grandeur is on the outside. The inside was nice. Don't get me wrong. But our trips to Europe are so fast and jam packed, I would have done without it. Hope this helps!
Absolutely worth it! I just returned from Germany. The town of Fussen is charming. We took a train from Munich and went on our own.
Hi
Do you need to book a group tour to get in the castle? Or can you purchase a entrance pass as an individual?
No, you don't need a group tour. You can book tickets in advance and they're right around 20 Euros including fees. shop.ticket-center-hohenschwangau.de/
Great video! Thanks so much. :))
Good suggestions. It is any easy day trip from Munich along with an enjoyable and scenic train ride . Also allows more time in Fussen to explore the town and have something to eat and people watch on the pedestrian mall. Linderhof Palace is nice, but a throw in on a bus tour after Neuschanstein.
I am taking the flixbus from Munic to Neuschanstein. On the way back I have 3 hours to catch up. How long it takes from Neushanstien castle to Linderhof palace. Is it doable in a single day ?
@@polisetk Linderhof Place is a fair distance away from Fussen. Much easier if you have your own transportation. You can check on Google. As I mentioned a nice place, but not worth it if bus options make it long and difficult. Hope this helps. Lots of other castles to visit in Germany that would be easier to get to.
@@polisetk just checked and there is a bus from the Fussen train station that takes out you out to Linderhof and a 10 minute walk to the castle. 40 minutes, 7 euros. Something to check out.
thank you@@roberthowell7095
