The monkey and the Tree ESL Animated Storybook is designed for teachers to use in ESL Classrooms and as home schooling content for young students learning English as a 2nd language.
For kindergarten/intro level students, teach the words; monkey, banana, apple, cookie and juice.
For higher level students, you can ask how the monkey is feeling at different parts of the story "is he ... happy/hungry/angry/sad?"
You can also add questions like "is this a banana?" and teach the answers "no, it isn't. It's .... juice/an apple/a cookie"
I like to teach this to my classes by using actions for monkey and tree. When the monkey climbs the tree, I get the students to copy my actions as I mime climbing and we all say "up, up, up!" together. It's good to make it interactive!
