Surf trip through Peru with Rosario, the Peruana local
Rosario invited me to visit her home country of Peru! I guess Tahiti went well... haha. So, of course I said yes! I took a week off work in December and went down there where we explored surf up north and around Lima. I can't believe how much we explored in a week looking through all the footage. And we also got really lucky with a north swell right when we went up north. Great trip and there are sooo many waves there that are uncrowded and good. Oh and the food is fantastic and the prices are good. Was trying to make this video more like a scenic travel video with some commentary and good music.
Such a great trip and I was lucky enough to have the best tour guide, Rosario!
Rosario also took a lot of the videos and all the surf photographs. Check out her IG @rdelgadophotography where you can see all her great photos with some of them featuring me! haha
Thanks to everyone for watching the video of another country I got to surf.
Super thanks to Mike Knoell who is in my El Salvador video and was kind enough to let me use two of his songs he just produced. These both went great with the road tripping vibe through the dusty roads of northern Peru and I listen to them all the time when I'm just lounging around. Check out his website: www.michaelknoellmusic.com

Also, thanks to all the people in Peru who were kind enough and welcoming of me. Especially to Rosario's family who accepted me in with open arms even though my Spanish is atrocious. And showed me around to some of their favorite places and places to eat
It was also cool meeting Cristobal de Col at his place in northern Peru. Look up his place and I recommend staying there as it is right on the point with awesome views of the waves. Also was cool to chit chat with Parker Coffin in the lineup who was super humble for being a pretty high profile surf pro. It was fun sharing that session with you guys!

I had just met Rosario about a month ago and we had immediate chemistry. So when she told me about her trip she was taking to Tahiti to a surf camp in Moorea and invited me to come, I said YES! Don't know if she was expecting me to say yes but here we were. Traveling together on an international trip after only knowing each other about a month. The timing was perfect and we scored some amazing ...

Part 2 of our trip to the Caribbean in Panama. Went to spots not normally surfed and was lucky enough to run into Jose who lives there. Took a trip to Tavarua Fiji where we scored waves and fish. In a few of my surf sessions, even ran into two time world champ Tom Carroll who was one of the nicest guys I've met who's also a famous surfer. Also got to spearfish and got some good fish. Stoked on our crew, especially the first boat crew, and can't wait to go back. It was a dream of mine to go surf Cloudbreak since I was in high sc...

All Things Considered: Panama. The amigos decided to take a trip to less chartered areas in the Caribbean side of Panama and found some good waves, good people, and good times. We were so lucky to find Jose who had a boat and was the only other surfer we saw the whole trip and showed us some of his spots. Thanks Captain Jose! Always nice to go on a adventure and look for waves. The dream!

    Amazing build for a 13fter!! I run the same boat on the ocean 11 miles offshore (see my channel) and often wish I had a pilot house!! I take quite a bit of spray. Where did you get the blue cover you were using? I use one made for a bass style boat but the sides don’t account for the railings. Anyways, thanks for the great build video and story!! I often get people that talk down my boat and it’s capabilities because everyone thinks you need a 20ft half million dollar boat but that’s not a reality for everyone and these boats are more than capable! Great video! Also, how did the transom do with the 5hp kicker? I have a 2.3hp but I would prefer a 5hp. I was nervous to put the 5hp on due to the extra weight but I have had to use my kicker to get back from 4 miles out and it only gets me to about 4mph with a following tide.

    • @DanDanFleek
      @DanDanFleek 4 місяці тому

      Nice man you understand lol. I was worried about weight io but I think be cause the transom is curved, adds lots of strength and have had no issues. Probably don’t need it with my new motor though. Not sure what blue cover you are referring to.

      I was concerned about the same and got put in a situation where it started to blow around 15 knots all of a sudden with some stronger gusts. Handled well and I think it’s because it is pretty lightweight and I tried to make the angels to help with the wind. But yeah I don’t like being in that situation anyways and try not to be in the water in anything ten knots or over

      Still using my 32. Pretty much daily for work and it’s holding up just fine so until it busts, I’m just gonna keep on using it.

      I have been on both, even fishing offshore on a sail boat. But when feeding fish came up straight off our port--and the wind did not allow us to go that way, in straight line, or in fact, ever got us over there before the fish were one--yeah, I missed the engine.

      @@thesolojourney8955 with the motor, it came out to about $1300. Only because I was able to get my hands on the foam sheets from someone getting rid of them. Plus I didn’t pay for labor haha
