Wow. I did half of that in 1968 with a small group of older boys. Pristine day. Gothics, Saddleback, Basin, Haystack, down Phelps trail. 20 miles total. From Garden parking lot. Night when we got back to car.

Looks like an excellent place to hike. Was it hard to access the trailhead? Do you need an SUV to access? Now following #63!
It has a few miles dirt road, a little rutted. Any crossover would be fine.
