Tony De Vit - Cairns Australia 1998
Переглядів 14 тис.4 роки тому
This is footage i recorded on stage back in 1998 of Tony De Vit playing (unfortunately what would be ) his last gig in Australia. Im uploading this finally after converting my old VHS to digital. I wish i could have filmed more....and apologies for the quality, its a 22 year old tape!. I upload this because I think its important, especially for all those that loved Tony, and appreciated the joy...
Not seen this before , rare footage , glad you put it on here , I was one of Tony's friends in Birmingham UK , saw him 5 hours before he passed away in Hospital , always missed ......
an hour with tdv changes everything..forever..
Anyone got the playlist from this set?
Legendary footage. Was lucky enough to see TDV at TinTins in Birmingham. Smashing it up at Hype on the ground floor.
Rooster lad ! I was one of Tony's friends back in the day , I was there at Tin Tins the best place in Brum then downstairs to Marco Polos bar omg , out Friday night back Sunday morning hammered still tripping ! Used to wake up on Tony's sofa with him mixing in the next room .... miss him still , great lad to have as a friend , he used to get me into Trade in London free , " Just carry my gear in " like a seen from Kevin & Perry pmsl ....
@@curtisducati nice! Tin Tins was amazing. Best club I ever went to. Can still picture myself in my minds eye. Finish my glass collecting job at nearly Midnight then hop on the bus. £40 would easily cover the night and a cab home! Can remember my Ma saying “where is even open at that time?” and then having to hide my eyes as I waltzed in after 10am on the Sunday morning. Great days.
I was there with you back then lads. I met Tony several times in Tin Tins, proper nice fella. Used to drive over from Leamington in my mates GT turbo, park it up on a Friday near Marco's, drive home on a Sunday morning, fuck knows how! We'd come out of CREAM on Charlotte street and collapse in St Pauls square for a while before driving back. We were lucky to experience those times, Great tunes. Cracking bunch of people .
@@darrenmalkin2559 ha ha! UA-cam is wicked for stuff like this. Nearly 30 years ago that all was. Feels like yesterday. Still got my ‘96 membership card. Even getting that felt like a badge of honour. Properly welcomed into the club during the day, fucking up when they asked me my age, the girl laughing and saying “you mean 18, not 17” and still signing it off. Actually felt part of something. No phones, meeting your mates on time via a pre-arranged landline, no cameras, everyone being proper sound, happy, smiling - and monged but in a good way. And that’s not even mentioning the music. So many ace Tin Tins mixes on here and SoundCloud. Once a raver, always a raver!
What club in Cairns is this? Lucky mfkers dancing to an absolute legend
It was at the The End of the World, hasnt existed for 20+ years.
@@killedpatrick thought that might be the case. Think the only place open there now is Gilligan's.
One of my biggest regrets is that I never got to see him live. I got into clubbing just after he passed. What a massive inspiration he was/is. No hands in the air, no fannying about, just pure professionalism and focus on the music and the dancing. This is where we should be and we need to go back to this
I did on many occasions. Dude had the crowd like a puppet on a string. knew when to go heavy knew when to go vocal new when to send it crazy
Some amazing nights you did miss. Banging at its best❤
I agree I started clubbing in 99 at opera house boscombe bangin times. Gutted never seen Tony mixin
@@jasonjames594 blimey I’m from Bournemouth too! I practically lived in the OH between 98 and 2000 we must have passed each other by loads!
I cot mmj
Doing his thumping hard house and keeping those long mixes tripping and flipping.Pure natural 📀💥🏴 What would you like to hear again,!!!
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR AGAIN AND AGAIN.PURE CLASS
Hell yeah, I've been watching prodigy and old tv recordings and it totally hits different.
Hi
All these dj today this is how it's done.
incredible!!!! can't believe this footage exists. thakn you so much
To the bahai blog.
Having spent the 90s in a higher state of consciousness I’ve seen Tony play many times at turnmills heaven a few others but I can remember the venues . Absolute legend and produced surely one of the best tracks of all time in ‘ the dawn’ great vid
A Trade Babe..... What can I say..... Best years of my life .... Thank you Tony..... R. I. P.......
are you already what a tune my favourite of his has got to be the dawn though rip Tony
How nice is it to see quality, simple mixing ( if you get what I mean) no showmanship just pure mixing talent these days.
Just to add there is so many uk hard house dj's that follow him in his honour such as Andy Farley
@@hayleyrobinson8375 Lets not forget his protégé Fergie. Tearing it up stateside these days
Indep Independent wiggles creddles what CD j not well come
Master at work 🙏🙏 RIP tony ,, heaven is bouncing with you there
Clubbing died for me the day this legend gained wings
TdV was responsible for getting me into hard dance, buying decks and a lifelong passion for dance music. This footage is GOLD. And Cairns of all places. Not a XXXX in sight lol 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you my Lord for guiding me to this rare footage of 32:40mins of Hard House founder TDV 🙏🏼💙💥🌈
TDV- 'are you all ready' is a MONSTER
The world lost a great DJ and a legend of a bloke
THIS IS AMAZING! I have been trying to find footage of Tony playing! please can we chat over email?
Hi, sure can !
Praga Khan... takes me back. That remix is straight annihilation! So glad I'm finding these TDV rarities online! I thought I was limited to the 3 albums I had, but there's some great stuff uploaded!
Saw this legend live at the Hippo Club in Cardiff, not long before he departed. What an awesome night & what a dj 🙌
I love the sound of phasing kicks
Thanks, a lovely reminder of what a hero he still is
Bless Tony was so ill around this time but he still smashed it down under
27:55👍✌️28:30
27:55 👍😜
Wow Cairns how lucky were you....banging set Tony, living up to your name and what an impression you made xx
Track ID: starts at 26:50??
Savage recording man. Its the only record of his mixing as closely as can be seen. He talked years ago of only using the pitch after letting the record go, it locked in the groove. From 19 min area you can see him pitching on the right deck and bringing in on mixer. Long I've waited to see that man. RIP TDV . #1 Always in our hearts.
We were all DJs, and I remember that a mate was yelling to zoom in on his hands...and just as i did he finally gave the camera a smile hahah. Riding the pitch from a master at work.
Epic fucking video LOVE THIS
On the one's and two's fella.. peace bro ❤️
The best house and club music DJ that ever existed. Tony De Vit was known for his hard house and banging style but he also played trance and dropped a few surprises in there. The club scene will never be the same without him.
Hard house legend, mixing and making tunes a super dj and always a humble guy.. R I P Tony 👍👍
Tidy :op
Love that the whole bar has Evian signs instead of an alcohol brand LOL
t'was a simpler time hahaha
Tried to ID at once a few (pretty obvious ones heh) , hopefully will be able to ID more later on. SJ - I Feel Divine (Queen Maxine & Vikki Red's Kitty Lips Mix) Perpetual Motion - Keep On Dancing (Banging Club Mix) Moby - James Bond Theme (Piet Blank's Da Bomb Remix) Interactive - Point Of No Return (Original Mix) Allnighters - Black is Black (Ian M's Trade '98 Remix) Dyewitness - What Would You Like To Hear Again (Ian M's Trade Mix) Praga Khan - Injected With a Poison (Baby Doc Remix) TDV - Are You All Ready The Captain & Steve Thomas - Get Down
Any idea what the first track is?
@@grantlyall857 Still not a clue, don't seem to be SJ - I Feel Divine. :)
It must be a bootleg of keep on dancing surely. I've been having a Good look, but there seems to be nothing even close to it online.
@@grantlyall857 Yeh, or could be a white label, unreleased tune, to be honest Keep On Dancing sound to me like the Orig' Club mix, simply mixed in into this ID first track.
A friend of mine just ID'd the first tune SJ - I Feel Divine (Queen Maxine & Vikki Red's Kitty Lips Mix) this what it is, so it is SJ after all. :)))) Glad mystery solved!
This is literally most seldom and rarest recording of Tony playing live !!! Top T.D.V. fan and I've never came across of a real visual of Tony perform live to this extent. I feel lucky to find this upload, thank you so much killedpatrick for this. I watched and watched and enjoyed every bit of second of it!
I’m glad to hear. I do wish I had recorded more but I only had limited tape (the good old days) and recorded the other DJs on the night, but I am glad I found the tapes and could resurrect most of the footage. The response has been awesome.
@@killedpatrick I'm so glad there's an awesome responnce, yes, i would record all of the DJs as well, how long was the whole set back then ?
MrMihaelp the set was 3hrs if I remember correctly
@@killedpatrick Can only be jealous :)
He was the great seen live many tiimes
New as I heard black is black that dywittness would follow both Ian M remixes 👌🏻
What club is this? I play hard house and live in cairns, I can't find anywhere to rave or play.
also just moved to Cairns, definitely missing a good old fashioned tear up
mate, it was 22 years ago! (the building is probably a office space now) It was at a place called 'The End of the World Nightclub" . Back in the good times in Cairns
@@killedpatrick I remember The End of the World when I was there for 3 months in 1997(Aug). I played every wednesday, ground floor at The Woolshed. Couple of local dj's Nick and John ran the dance music.
I'm in Cairns too. Oh how I crave for this again
@@killedpatrick could it be Gilligan's today?
Wow. Not seen this before. Happy 63rd birthday TDV 12.09.57. Gone but never forgotten. Always in my thoughts...
LEGEND Top marks for the uploader for this piece of history R.I.P TDV
Thank you so much for posting this mix!! Never seen it before.... never bettered never equalled...TDV RIP 👊👌❤
no worries. I wished i could have filmed the whole thing, but didnt have enough tape (had to film other DJs and the rest).... Still happy i could recover what i did have.
Seen him live not long before he left us & what a DJ. Probably the best hard house DJ ever. Never forget
Oh for sure no probably about it, not just cause he’s dead now his tunes were something else
his track selection is nothing to do whit House or Hard-House. is more Hard -Dance , Trance Progressive Tech..
I was lucky enough to catch Tonys' sets at Trade@Turnmills in London in the '90s many times, but this is a precious memory you have captured for eternity... Thank you, thank you, thank you, Clint!!! ❤💘❤
