Wtf is the point of this?
Nobody moves over in CA
To much ego in California
Why doesn’t California state route 190 continue west of US highway 395 in Olancha over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to connect with California state route 99 in Tipton California. Wasn’t California state route 190 intended to connect California state route 99 and US 395 across the Sierra Nevada mountains?
@@dustino.2297 yes route 190 was intended to connect through Sierra Nevada range but environmental activities protested against the idea
Wow 😍
Was this from the west side or the east side
Yes
Going over Sherman pass (9,104'? is edited out. Why?
My camera died
Hello. I would like to know what road you were on? Or did I missed something? Just beautiful Thank you
@@beeatta Whitney Portal road
This stretch of real estate will soon have multiple low cost housing .
Where is this located
Between Crestline and Big Bear cities in the San Bernardino Mtns of southern California. About 1.5 hours drive east of Los Angeles.
Stop disclosing Kennedy meadows and Grumpy Bear retreat!!!! LOL Just kidding let me just say up there you have - Off grid living - about 300 homes - upper fork south fork kern river - you're literally on the PCT - Kennedy meadows general store is a top tier PCT hangout, movies, bbq, gas, hang out with granolas and 4x4 - Grumpy bear sunday morning breakfast is SECOND TO NONE - Get drunk and hang out under stars - Camp at Troy Meadows, ride your dirt bike down jackass trail to monache meadow It's a different world up there, be careful, be safe, and be like fight club shhhhh
Thanks 🙏 I love it out there it's like my hidden retreats
Does the road open between La Canada and Wrightwood? They usually close at Islip Saddle.
It's closed between 39 and Vincent Gap
I will be showing the closed part next week
Been to DV many times through different entrance but never use this route, every time i passed by they always have a closed gate.
It was opened but the floods of 2022 closed it again. I'm planning to visit the closed part stay tuned
Brings back memories. In August 2011 my wife & son took this route as a spontaneous detour across the Southern Sierra traveling from Bishop, CA to motel in Lost Hills...ultimately via Mountain Highway 99 along the Kern River, Lake Isabella, SR155, 65 and 46. Heart Castle the following day. This Road has deteriorated since 2011...still an epic drive. So many changes in topography & biomes. Amazing views. Utterly remote. Gotta full tank of gas & a bag lunch PBJ? Then I absolutely recommend this mind-clearing, invigorating drive.
I guess the fire changed the topography.
@@TheRoutetraveller Poor writing on my part. What I meant to communicate was what made the drive epic was the variety of topographies & biomes...and the rapid transitions between them. (I didn't know about the fire. The big ones are consequential).
My son and I also took this route.. From 395 over to the San Joaquin Valley. Going down the West side it' seems more like an old logging road that got paved.
Very nice.
Thanks I will be traveling all Sierra Nevada roads
My brother and I rode this East to West on our motorcycles a few years back and went over Sherman Pass and down to the Kern river. Beautiful all the way through and very remote, plan on riding it the opposite way in another month. Great video, thanks......
Thanks for appreciating! I'm planning to drive all Sierra Nevada roads.
~12 miles on a bike and 4.6K gain😎
wth is that noise?
Strong wind was blowing
It looks like an interesting drive. I'll be going through the area on a California loop at the end of the month. This would be a good side trip. Thanks! Subscribed!
Thanks and wish you a safe trip June is an amazing month to visit the area. 🙏
I am planning a drive around America for next fall. Is there a better time of day for this drive? I know how the sun hits the mountains can make for some beautiful scenes that look different hours later. Thanks for taking us along
Any time of the day is fine but depends on what you want. Sunset & sunrise are my favorite time but afternoon is also wonderful
I have seen your videos on UA-cam. Your videos on UA-cam are so impressive! I really enjoy watching them. Keep up the great work🔥 big fan! . I think you need to focus on your UA-cam channel video SEO(Search Engine Optimization). I have analyzed your UA-cam channel and I saw that your video is not SEO optimized. So your video doesn’t rank on UA-cam and you never get a good result. So you will do video SEO. Your video will rank on UA-cam and You will get more views day by day.
Thanks I'm going to look into that!
Hello at the end did you find the camp grounds with running Water 🤔 are the kilns as well
I did check if there was running water but I saw a few people camping there
Thank you for the precious video.😎👍👍👍👍👍
You welcome
Wow very beautiful relaxing travel to mountain you did my dear friend nice upload I wish you a great and successful in your life stay connected thumps up and I did it 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤👌👌🧡🧡, please watch at least 4:00 min
Thanks and be blessed
I'm so grateful that you don't play music, and just let the air going by the camera be the background. Now I have to wash the rv and get on my way south to find this byway. 😃
Thanks and enjoy your planned trip!
Beautiful!!! Nice place to ride my 🚴 bike
Yes
Wow again!
That's amazing!
Lots of Freezer Stock.
What state?
California
Going anywhere special ?
Yes
nice footage! we're doing a video on the best motorcycle roads in CA. Could we use a few seconds of this footage and give you a credit link?
Yes you can use it and give me a credit link
All it takes is putting 1-2 right side tires in that snow and you'd be off the cliff.
True that's why I tried to dodge the snow!
I always wanted to go down that road on the way back from vegas. It looks scary.
It's been fixed now, just avoid it when it rains
places like this are desolate for a reason... just like in Wyoming
Beautiful scenery, but would be better with some gentle music in the background.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Hard to believe how hot it gets there when I can see snow so low on the mountains. High desert is amazing for sure. I'm in the nw corner of Oregon. I just took a short trip to Quartzsite AZ. I had to go around the Siskiyou pass, so I chose 101. Have you been down 101 lately after so much flooding rain?
Not lately I'm next week I'm planning to tour 101. How was Siskiyou pass? It's been on my list I roads for a long time.
@@TheRoutetraveller I don't know. I had to go around as winter storm warnings would have meant throwing tire chains. Not gunna. On my way back it was the same, new winter storm warning, so again, had to go around. I was amazed how much mud was crossing the roadway on 101 in California. Lots of flooding just a bit before my travels. And from what I'm seeing and hearing, lots of flooding now.
That is the drive up to Mt. Whitney Portal. When the restaurant is open (late Spring to early Fall), the owner, Doug, will serve a BIG breakfast for hikers coming down from hiking Whitney at a very reasonable price. The Alabama Hills, where many movies were filmed, is also in that area. Check out the museum in Lone Pine, California. There are some excellent "day hikes" in the area: at the Mt. Whitney portal (but not to the top without a permit), Horseshoe Meddows, and Onion Vally. But I can also say that for a dozen other locations along the Sierras.
Thanks
I take this route whenever I go to Lake Tahoe from San Diego. It's really a beautiful drive especially in the winter when the mountains are fully draped with snow.
It's amazing route
When I was a young child (maybe 6 yo) my family went to the crater. I when down the trail after my brother but started "trotting" down and then running, uncontrollably, and the then tumbled head over heals several times before stopping. Mom was a little frantic watching from the top.... Turns out I was OK! Although that is probably why I am the way I am now ;)
Have you returned to the crater ever since?
@@TheRoutetravellerno... nor DV in general.
Nice, I do not hear a motor.
I was driving a Prius that's why
Ok, seen enough. Just hit the subscribe button.
Thanks
Get to a big screen before watching. Wow, very awesome. New addition to my bucket list. Thank you for sharing this footage. What an awesome day to be on that road. I'm going to check out your channel now.
YEP! Big screen is best!
I would not want to be driving down while you are driving up.
Awesome 👍 view
Thanks
Its like 2 different dimensions very close together. When your going up the hill, you can still see the previous dimension you were in but you are entering into another realm and then you turn the corner and suddenly you are there!
Hiya!. Tr~ Like it, how outstanding . 🤩
Thanks
Did you have to go around on Angeles Forest Highway and then through Upper Big Tujunga to get to this section of ACH? Were there any restrictions on those roads? Lots of a conflicting info online, trying to get up to Cloudburst Summit and Winston Peak this weekend.
It's open And closed sometimes without restrictions
I was born, lived there for 70 years and I miss my California....I know it's changed, but it was a GREAT place to grow up and raise my Daughter! So many say such bad things about the State of California, but I remember when.....💜🐘
WOW for 70 years California is a beautiful place. When did you last visit California?
