What makes you think he was "composing in the moment"? It's obviously a bit of a battle playing anything in a house party with Howard Stern and his noisy sycophants. Great song I reckon and this version is fine.

Chad's a national treasure. An amazing bloke. It would be a shame if he's just remembered as a "comedy" act because as many of us know he's much much more than that. He's our very own Woody Guthrie. My two favorite country artists are George Jones and Chad Morgan. Then there's everybody else......................
