Moby Sweater Knitting Project Vlog Petite Knit
Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet. Today, I’m diving into the Moby Sweater by Petite Knit-an absolute dream project for sweater weather. I’m working with the buttery soft Mota yarn by Wooldreamers, it’s such a joy to knit with.
I've been seeing this sweater everywhere the past year and thought it looked like a knitting staple wardrobe piece. On Petite knit's website it's marked with difficulty 5/5 which can be scary looking, but I encourage you to try it anyway! Skill wise I think a confident beginner can totally do this - you just need to keep focus and be prepared to frog a little if you loose yourself in the pattern. Hopefully this vlog will make you change your mind if you were like me, too scared to try this. When I saw seii.knit's version on Instagram I couldn't help myself, and had to cast it on immediately!
Grab your favorite project (or cast on something new-no judgment here!) and come hang out. Let’s knit, chat, and unwind. Ohh! and don’t forget to share what’s on your needles in the comments below!
If you like this video I would really appreciate a like and subscribe! Cheers queens!!! and happy knitting

Love this video! ❤ I’m doing the beanie myself, but a bit confused at the “turn the work’? I can see in your video here it looks like you’ve turned the work inside out?

    • @caffeinated_granny

Ty! I'm sure you will love this beanie too when it's done! I'm already thinking of other colour combos to do it in! Super curious to hear what colours you went for. Pink and orange is tempting. I totally understand what you mean with the turn, it's definitely one of those trust-the-process moments. I did a german short row turn which ensures that the stitch pattern stays the same on both sides of the fold (like for the brim and the rest of the hat). So it allows you to continue in the established pattern. If you didn't do the turn you would have to reverse the established pattern (and basically knit what it looks like on the wrong side of the pattern) for the brim and hat to be the same - so the turn saves you that trouble! But once you do it and knit for a while you'll see that it makes sense. Hopefully that explanation didn't cause you even more confusion haha. Good luck with the beanie!

I started it this morning, for my Dad, but I haven’t done as much progress as you have at the end of the first day 😊 Not too sure when he’ll be able to wear it… Thanks for another lovely vlog 🤍 Love from Paris!

Oh my he's a lucky dad, what an amazing present! He's going to love it. It's such a timeless classic. What yarn and colour are you going for? Regarding the timeline, well... The start was super fast! It was a weekend so I had pretty much 2 full days of uninterrupted knitting. But after finishing the body it took almost 3 weeks to finish the sleeves - and I think it had a lot to do with me setting the expectations so high from the start so I got very easily demotivated once I started making mistakes. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that it's better to take your time, enjoy the process and don't worry about deadlines :) So glad you enjoyed the vlog, Alexandra! and tysm for your kind words 🫶 ✨

Oh how beautiful Norway looks! Btw you looked gorgeous in all those outfits and the Moby sweater is perfect in pink. The kitten totally stole the show, clearly cat crack works. Currently I’m trying to figure out how I get Rauma Garn to Australia 😂

So I have broken my leg and had surgery 😏 so lying now on the couch with leg elevated. It makes knitting harder, especially since my belly gets in the way. Anyhow....happily knitting on Anne Ventzel's Hilly Hood in chocolate for my Boston adult son. Their temps have plummeted, so I had better knit quickly. She pairs two yarns - my lace I have chosen is "Zealana Air Lace" - cashmere, possum and silk.....he is ONE lucky son!! (other nz merino) . You have cheered me up with your podcast thanks Granny. It was so relaxing to watch and knit alongside you. And also it is so cool to see each step of the process of someone knitting just one garment. It makes it feel more personal. I have to say I'm one of the few that enjoys doing the Italian bind off 😂. Thanks for the bird clips, I enjoyed those too!

I'm so glad you enjoyed knitting along with me! It really means a lot that you found the process personal and relaxing-sharing each step was a lot of fun. And yay, another fan of the Italian bind-off ✨️👏 Also happy you enjoyed the bird clips, my fave little dude was definitely Toto's support chicken 🐔

    1. You don’t get to do “fall knits” from a city that stays a sunny and warm 23 degrees Celsius😂😂. You are absolutely lovely and I will be here for vlogs or podcast content. I love your aesthetic, but would slop hot cocoa on a white sweater. It is funny. In your last video you were commenting on how beautiful Celine is. I was thinking, “well this lady should talk!” So please know that you are beautiful to watch and listen to. I’m done love bombing you😘😘😘

Oh Sarah, you are too kind! I'd take your love bombing and reality checks any day 🥰😆I know I'm in denial but the Norwegian in me is still half expecting fall in mid-August - I'm not sure how long I'd be able to handle 32 degrees Celsius in my limited perception of fall lol. I can also relate to the hot cocoa on a white sweater comment.. You know I just took a 14-hour flight across the pond and the first thing I did when I sat down on that plane was to spill coffee all over my white Sabai top 👍
