Long story short, I originally had an additional 25 minutes long post-event breakdown and loot showcase all recorded and finished, but that segment just didn't want to render correctly - even after 5 attempts (and 12 hours wasted) Perhaps it is for the best, and have DDAM be remembered for its good times. Do you need reservation to enter and buy merch or just reservation for the cafe?
I didn't go myself (no money), but wow it looks so cool.
Yea, the food menu can be expensive, though browsing the shop side is free though ^_^;;
cool!! Look amazing!
Hi! Do you know if the merch is only available to purchase if you dine-in? Or can walk-in to purchase the exclusive merch too?
I heard that for the exclusive merch, you would need to dine in. But from what I observed, this doesn't seem to be enforced strictly. Other merch though, you can definitely walk in and browse.
Beautiful and pretty cool as the cafe is nicely done 😎
Good vlog and good points made
Oh contest! I went but I never see you haha!
omg im in the b-roll at the end hahah! totally agree with your thoughts on the management, they aren't really improving over the years :(
I was lucky to cover table on the first day, second day was terribly slow.
I had my fingers crossed but yeah, the second day was just not a good day for sales.
Oh no, watching this after I’ve applied for ACE vol 3 is a lil scary 😭😭 Hopefully they’ll improve more next year 🥲
@@toastysqxiid Hopefully your experience with ACE003 won't be bad! If anything, I am very certain it will have a better reception than this Cosfest since the former will be held at Suntec (hard to go wrong) and in the early part of the year when there are less events around + people tend to be more willing to spend. 👍
I was there for the performance, $12 (online purchase) well spent. Cosfest events are great for beginner to perform on stage too, for the experience just like artist boothing. I know about Maker's Quest, I didn't know about the other event clashing. Is there an updated list somewhere of all the local events?
That's true! I don't pay much attention to the scenes outside of artist boothing, but it is definitely a plus that beginner performers and cosers can get some experience on stage too. Yihao over at x/twitter made a public spreadsheet that contain many ongoing and upcoming anime/art related events that is happening in SG. You can take a look here: x.com/Kazue_Nakano/status/1796963749963923658 I shall do a mention about this list in my next video too, so that more people are aware of it.
@@kuehmerlion Just followed him!! He is a godsend for providing such a comprehensive list
Sorry to hear that the event was so lackluster. At least you made back your table cost!! Will you still be interested in boothing for CosFest and ACE in the future? And I hope that Maker's Quest goes well for you! I've never heard of it before, but since it's free admission I might go just to check it out
I probably wont booth at Cosfest or ACE in the foreseeable future myself, from a sales and business stand point. I am planning to cut down on many of these artist halls, and unfortunately Cosfest/ACE are just not very time-effective for me. Yep, it is free admission and it is on the concourse level of Suntec convention (outside the halls)! If you have the time, come take a look this coming Saturday. 😊
1st time seeing this event , glad to see you doing well ~!
Thanks tixit! 😁
I came to your booth! I brought the stamp lmao its really nice
I remembered! Thank you 😁
I think the drop off from 2022 is also partially due to the big increase in ticket prices. I went with my friends in 2019, when it was only like $20, and again in 2022, when it was still under $30. But I can't justify $40 just to see mostly the same stuff I see at other cons, and I know most of my friends didn't go either. Unless you're a hardcore comics fan I think its hard to justify the entry cost.
It is the same for me, I really cannot justify for myself paying more than $30 for a single day ticket to a convention. But it seems that this trend of ticket price increase won't be stopping anytime soon, and I can only hope it won't reach nearly as bad and expensive as western cons.
Imo NTP is the worst(not counting ddam) organiser in SG, which is unforunate because as you said they host one of the largest events. They've definitely gotten lazy and are relying on creators and reputation to bring in a crowd, and with all their complaints about boothers subletting, crowding behind booths, etc, and the "threats" against artists doing that for next years event, my opinion of them is rather low. Where other organisers at least pretend to care about boothers, with free water, better tables and the like, it feels like NTP are just taking advantage of the fact that there are always more artists than booths so they can get away with whatever. Which is not to say the event is terrible, since it still runs somewhat smoothly, but considering we're the ones paying, and doing the promo for them, the least they could do is let us share booths freely to help absorb some of the cost. After all they wouldn't be here without us
It is really unfortunate, and even if a few creators choose to not go for such events, they are still the minority and event organisers don't have that kind of urgency or need to change and improve since there are still a lot more creators and potential boothers willing to jump in for a chance to enter their events regardless - take for instance how well-received and oversubscribed Doujima 2025 was.
Thanks for the feature and so happy to finally meet you in person! - Giddy Glee
Will drop by and say hi again whenever we are at the same event!
Loving your videos, slowly bingeing them all after watching the Doujima 2024 one!
Glad you are liking it~ (and bingeing haha)
thanks for the hard work. wish there is a booth selling antidote for wallet :D

your art is SO NICE i absolutely love it <3 ive been to AFA quite a number of time and i will definitely stop by to buy some prints the next time!!
Thank you for your kind compliment. I may not be tabling at any future AFA events, but maybe see ya at other local events!
I'm late but yay! Another video! Sad to hear that CSF made no improvements whatsoever. I know speculation is just speculation but your theory on the premium booths stuff just sounds very SOZO and I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what happened :/ It's them continuously doing shit like this that made me decide not to sign up for anymore AFA related events in the future even if the crowd has big numbers. I hope your future events will be a way better experience!
I am beginning to see the "light" too on AFA related events and starting to share your sentiments on that. It is a bummer they are still the main organiser for anything hololive-related in Singapore, so I don't have everything in me to reject them completely yet. Thank you for watching though! My most recent event after CSF was a bust though; but I will leave that to let my next video speak for itself. 😂
@@kuehmerlion NOOOOO! The con bubble rly be starting to burst :( Do hope you’ll drop by Maker’s Quest tho! Haha! Yeah I think that’s how I feel every time when I see Bae is coming here but then I have to go through their shitty systems and prices ;; was also rly sad when they managed to secure Doki for CSF as well but eh. It be like that. You were there for the booth podcast but it’s true the only real way to make them consider changing their ways is to stop giving them money but unfortunately, their ability to draw a crowd with their brand name (for their nov event at least) is still very tempting to a lot of struggling artists :(
@@mintssu2843 I will definitely be seeing you at Makers Quest 😁 Since I am tabling there too. Please let MSQ be kind to me, because I am really tired of talking about bad cons lately.
@@kuehmerlion OH!!!! See you there then! And yeah! I rly hope it goes well :'D
Hello Clement! I’m Angel from Indonesia and I’ve been watching your videos about Singapore conventions since your previous event review last May. Thank you for always bringing insight for boothers regarding events in Singapore. I truly learned a lot! I wish you all the best for future cons. I got this same treatment from one event in Indonesia last June (and actually this promotor also held events in Singapore). We paid super expensive booth to get super cramped table with no spaces between table at all, and got almost no sales due to nobody going to the event to actually buy stuff (because the event got concert also on the event, so like people going for the concert). Turns out due to nobody actually signing up for the booth, some boother also got cheaper table than the early bird tables, so it was super stressful. I was considering joining AFA events in Singapore or Indo in the future but your video truly changed my mind. I agree sneaky & greedy con promoter is just not it. I hope there will be more events that highly consider artist’s thoughts and treat both artist & customers fairly. Truly wishing all the best to you~ If you’re going to Makersquest this September, I hope I can visit your table ^^
Thank you for watching, Angel! I sympathise with your past experience, and ironically my most recent event had the same issue with no space/gap in between tables 😅. More on that when I upload that video later this week. I will be tabling at Makers Quest, so looking forward to meeting you there!
We applied for the basic table for CSF and got the same template email to suggest us to upgrade to premium. Now I’m glad we decided to not proceed with them. HobbiesFair crowd was pretty good and we actually managed to do pretty well! Hope to see you at Cosfest today lol.
I agree with your decision not to proceed with the premium. The basic tier for CSF was a much better deal all in all, and if I had gotten that, I probably won't have been so sour with the experience. But hey, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade (in the form of a video) haha. Glad to know Hobbies Fair's experience was good. I initially wanted to sign up for it, but its schedule was stuck between DoujinFes Khatib and AFA CSF for me, thus I decided against going. Definitely would be interested to see how the event grows after their first rodeo.
What’s the difference between the basics and the premium?
@@qwc5210 You can see on the timestamp 00:26:48 The actual difference is Basics get a 1.8m better table and 2 cushion chairs, while Premium gets a 2m x 2m boxed in space with a signboard and bin, but smaller 1.2m table and 2 plastic chairs. All that for a price difference of S$225+
I stopped supporting (buying ticket) AFA related events because I didn't like the way they do things. An example (few years back not sure if it is still in practice) is making people throw away their food and drinks before entering the event, one should not waste food. They will prepare many big disposal bins at the bag checking area before entry. Forcing others to dispose their food just because the AFA wants people to buy expensive food and drinks from the makeshift stalls in the event, this does not agree with me. This example shows that they do event while placeing more importance on profit compared to moral conduct. The right way of doing things is rather subjective, their right way is different from my right way of doing things, hence I stopped supporting them. This also makes me appreciate cosfest, as their ticket price is reasonable and their events are decent, in my opinion.
From what I heard from my friends, this year's AFA CSF, visitors (not boothers) were still not allowed to bring in food and drinks, and they do expect con-goers to discard their food before entering the premise. The bag checks weren't as strict though, so it was still possible to "sneak" in food. Unlike the main AFA though, CSF does not have any food stalls inside the event hall, so I guess there's not much reason for the security to forbid food/drinks beside minimizing potential spillage and mess. I do agree with you that SOZO/AFA team has been very profit-centric, I mean they are after all running a business, but after experiencing my fair share of being "exploited", I am now very tired of the way they run their business.
Thanks for the video kuehmerlion!! Sry to hear abt your negative experience at CSF. The premium booth sounds like a scam LOL. I hope your experience at CosFest is much better and I look forward to your next video!
Thank you for watching! To be honest, I have zero expectation for Cosfest, but I whatever happened - good or bad, I will be vlogging about my experience for that on my next video, so do look forward to it! 😅
Thanks for the video and I agree that it is nonsensical that premium booth doesn't seem that much better than normal.
It really was nonsensical. 😮💨
Wohoo that is an awesome artist ally vlog over at AFA CSFest 2024 and thanks for the awesome feature ;)
Good To See another video!
Thank you for the coverage ~!
So excited for your new vlog, love from NYC!! ❤
Nice vlog. Next time when you do your recap, can you lower the background music? It was kind of hard to hear you at times. I backed your kickstarter, Backer #35. What category did you put it in? If it doesn't reach the goal, you should put it in comics. I think that category has more traffic.
Thank you for your continued support since my previous videos and now! I will take note about my bgm volume for the subsequent videos. For the kickstarter campaign, I did put mine under comics. But it didn't reach its goal in the end because of a combination of reasons - mainly lack of marketing and reach from my end.
@@kuehmerlion If you relaunch the campaign, I'll back it again. I think the title might have confused people, "Kueh-ving!" by it self doesn't tell people who don't know Kueh is. Maybe for the title put like "Kueh-ving!- Illustrated Guide to Asian desserts"
Yay new video! Thank you for always sharing your experiences with the smaller events! I hope your future events go smoothly too ;w;
Hey! Great video as always and I love that you support your fellow artists so much! On the topic of con fatigue, perhaps its time to consider a short hiatus from the never ending events, you could take a break and refresh your offerings and comeback maybe at the end of the year? Either way wishing you well and will always buy from your booth even if its just something small :)
Thank you for your constant support 😭 I would like to take that hiatus from cons, but I already pre-booked multiple events for the months to come, haha. Definitely though, after this year, I will do less cons.
Oh my god, I wish I knew about this... I missed it :(
Ahhh, but no worries - there will be a next Doujinfes again
Always a good day when kuehmerlion uploads
Always looked forward to watching your videos. This time my daughter didn't participate as she was busy with her assignments. But we attended on Day 2 as customers. It was pouring heavily so we waited for the rain to stop before going. We reached pretty late at about 6pm. First thing we noticed was that the lighting was really dim. Suitable for banquet and yes, not for artist events. It does make the environment cosier though. With the cosy lighting and the rainy weather plus the long day, I noticed some artists dozing off at their seats. hahahahaha.. Hope you reach your kickstarter goal soon! And if you're participating in the next Doujinfes, see you there!
Thank you for always watching my videos! Yes, I am guilty of being one of the artists dozing off when you came at 6pm+. It was very, very slow for the last 2 hours before closing at 8pm. I don't think I will be registering for the next Doujinfes due to potential schedule clash on my side. But I will still look forward to the event, especially since it will be around the time for DoujinFes first anniversary. 😊
Nice video as always
thanks for the video Clement, always thinking to join a smaller size event at Singapore. Its a good reference
You're most welcome~ 😁 It won't be as exciting as the bigger events, but can just chill for a change of pace too

glad to see your vlog! hope u reach your goal soon for your Kickstarter
Thankssss! When you ever decide to table at Doujinfes, I shall come and visit
Nice vlog! I'm glad event was overall a good time for the artists. I provided the voiceover for the male twin mascot Teru so I was curious if you captured any moments when the PA system played. Still there was so many cool art and goodies shown all over!
Yo~! Thanks for dropping by, and also thank you for providing the voice for the mascot Teru. I especially appreciated the voiceovers on some of the promotional stuff on Instagram too, which were unexpected but welcome. I did initially have some of the skits recorded from the PA broadcast, especially during the artist set up part, but those unfortunately didn't make it past the chopping board as I was trying to keep this video compact. But cheers, nonetheless!
As A Bruneian Artist, This types of videos (even more when the countries are Friendly Neighbours as We use the same currency here and there) Are really inspiring, im a small sticker business in brunei and i do watch this videos for inspirations. Also loved the video and i have watched you since the Artcade singapore vid edit: also to note , singapore tables is So small compared to brunei which gives us around 6 ft, This is more Seen in US Cons and such. will Keep that in mind if i ever do international cons to SG Soon!
Hi! Thank you for watching so many of my videos~ You are right that it will be convenient for you to come to Singapore and table since our currency are interchangeable. For online transactions though, the customers here prefer to use the local QR payment PayNow and can only be applied if you have a Singapore bank account. To work around it, many of my overseas artist friends would use WISE to act as go-between for PayNow transactions. And yes *cries*, the tables for majority of Singapore cons are usually set at 1.2m, which is so much smaller than 6ft (1.83m). But that is how it is for SG = tiny country, tiny table haha.
This was a fun vlog. It's interesting seeing all the booths and the artists perspectives on their items. It's different from how stuff is displayed in artist alleys here in the US. Most artist alley tables here are 6 ft/1.82 meters. Is the Nekomimi maid at 31:30 dressed as Korone?
Yes she was dressed as Korone! So technically, she doesn't qualify as a nekomimi but... close enough! From what I understood, she was part of the volunteer nekomimi crew of the event. Most artist alley events in Singapore only offer small tables; they are really tiny in comparison to the tables you guys have at your cons 🥲
Gahhh !! I was too busy to stop by. My booth was at the far back so I wasnt nearby to buy ur bags !!! Im so sad. We were so overwhelmed by customers.. Even getting the food was difficult for me.
That was great to know that you guys were overwhelmed and busy (in a good way)! I heard from some that the far end and backs suffered from less crowd venturing that deep into the hall, but that didn't sound like that was entirely the case. In contrast, I had a lot of free time on the second day which was why I could go around to talk to so many people in the video hahaha.
Thank you for featuring the Mori Bag! I love your art!! ❤🔥❤🔥
At this point, that bag is like a work of art by itself~
Do you mind sharing how the sales/profit was for you?
Not at all! Those figures would have been in the video, if the files didn't get corrupted in the end during render. I made about $570 in sales for the two days, most of it came from Day1. The table was $250 and meals + travel added to about $60~. Truthfully, I didn't make any profit from this event because of my new stock cost etc but those can be carried over to future events so I am not too worried about it.
@@kuehmerlion Thanks for the reply!! And I wanted to share that I love watching your videos, it also made me interested in boothing! I've signed up for EOY.

Hey! I really liked your previous vlogs, especially your post event breakdown along with your thoughts and feedback and areas for improvement. Was looking forward for this one, as I attended DDAM too! A shame the rendering failed, was really interested to hear your thoughts. Catch you at the next event!
Yeah, it was a 20minutes long one after thought too haha; But guess that's how it is. In case you are curious, my sales for DDAM were less than Doujima intake - though not the fault of the event itself.
