I wanted to join EOY artist alley but thankfully I had to work so I wasn't able to join. All i heard was nothing but horrible experiences amongst friends for the event and the amount of complains increases every single year. Having doubts if I should even apply for it this year. 😩

Sad to hear that the staff were so distrusting of the artists ;__; I hope they do better at keeping tabs and records of artists in the future and I hope anonymous tipper is doing ok ;_; I rly do understand their paranoia esp cos so many ppl (myself included oops) have abused the pass system before to get ppl in but at the same time, I rly do think it's also on the organizers to also keep track of these things on their side before making claims like that ;; It is also a lesson to the rest of us to stop abusing this privilege as well. As for sales, I'm glad you did well! Honestly I was a bit worried when you told me you signed up for EOY cos I was aware of how badly the date clashed with other well-known events, CF being the biggest one as a lot of SG congoers go there as a special trip every year. I also felt that the booth price and ticket entry were quite steep considering that my experiences at EOY (esp earnings wise) have always felt subpar and not really at the level I would expect from an event charging those prices. So honestly glad to hear that regular channel viewers went to support you!!!!! I haven't signed up for any conventions in 2025, mostly just recharging and focusing on other things but hope to see you at Doujima! Will probably go and get some stuff from you hehe (pls let me pay)

gong xi fa cai & happy new year!! excited to see what you have in store for 2025~ i also had a similar experience in which i didnt get stamped for day 2, went out for lunch and got stopped 😮‍💨 the staff were so unpleasant about it too like why is it my fault that i didnt get stamped? told myself i probably wouldnt booth @ eoy or in dec in general bc there's just too much going on in that month >< anyways, hope you are well and see you soon!

I also had a similar experience when i went to collect my passes on day 1. They only passed me one pass and said they will only pass the other one when my boothmate is here. So then i said i wasn’t sharing the booth. They said “yeah but both of you need to be here”. Then im like ??? “But im not sharing the booth shouldn’t i get the 2 default pass.” They said “Your helper needs to be here.” so i gestured to my mum who standing at the side waiting for me to collect the passes (she wasn’t in the line with me). Only then they finally gave me the two passes. 😂

ive been following your videos thru mints' recommendation since last year, and its been very interesting to see how cons/events in singapore are organized. (not from SG but as a bruneian, i noticed that the convention culture in SEA is almost similar) excited to see your kueh-vings book! forgot to include my NY goals but i wanted to focus on working on my OC stuff and get back to tabling.

Kueh-ving for more of your vlogs! Always love the videos you make and try to watch them on the same day it is released. My goal for 2025 is to finish my micromasters in analytics with good results and gain entry to masters program for next year.

The sale rental chart is interesting, I am not sure if the rental amount shown here is shared or the full amount (only know it is the amount you paid), or how many days, so maybe with those info we can calculate which event would be friendlier to starters. Just personal preference, your bar chart with the numbers on top of each bar is easier to understand than a chart that compares the difference by showing "profit". Opinion, event open to general public might be good for your personal art work too, like hobbies fair that have free admission. FOMO is not, because there is no traffic or publicity, never heard of it and everyone boothing there is competing with the same medium/art, like your drawn kueh vs drawn nanaabanana (all drawing type), maybe if you vs other type like acessories or decoration(drawing vs other art creation type, hmm...idk =D). Thank you for sharing your views, the food looks delicious.

At least you got a learning experience from this trip. I’m introverted so I avoid artist or vendors that try to talk too much to me. My advise for your booth would be to have bigger pictures or items to draw people in. A lot of the things on your booth were multiple food items on one page/sheet so it would be hard to tell what you were selling from afar. Maybe if you had like bigger pictures of your favorite food to draw people in then you show the multiple food sheet.

Good to see you get a win. This looks like a fun con. I have been to some cons that feel like they should have been one day cons.

Good video. I feel you about the mid attendance. Even as a con goer, when there are less attendees it isn’t as fun to walk around.

I think the market for Original stuff is also very selective and fanbase indeed does matter a lot TwT! <-- Have tried selling a mix of original and fanart once before and well...lmao I'm not super good at talking at the booth either but what I try to do when there is a customer is to at least make eye contact and smile. I'm also scared to say hi because I know sometimes that chases people away but I find that at least giving them a smile makes you seem a bit more approachable HAHAHA All the best for EOY!

I love buying original art! Problem for me is I work retail and rarely get off days on weekend, not to mention these event only last 2 days and open form morning until 7pm. Wished these last longer so I could go! there's also another issue where these event doesn't get as much advertisement out. Sure there's advertisement near the booth, but not a lot on social media! I have to follow all my favorite artist to even know which booth and event they are going/setting up for! I followed and subscribed to you on both UA-cam and Insta to get information on the latest news/events that would be happening!

Hi Clement~ I was also participating at FOMO V3, and my sales weren’t that great either. 🥲 I think target audience is really important for me as I've made quite good sales at university/poly events where most of my customer age group would be which makes sense... For FOMO I feel like there was a mix of different age groups customers etc. and they might've been more selective with which booth they want to spend on since there was so many different artists in one space... I was also quite introverted in my sales method, which is me behind my booth allowing the customers to freely browse... which I did thought about to improve on in the future. But overall looking on the bright side I think being around so many different artists was also a good opportunity to connect with them and also having the opportunity to booth with this event organizer was pretty nice considering they heavily promote original arts~ Hope for more huats for 2025! -Domo Arts Studio

its not easy to sell original, I do find out that in order to survive in either huge or small events, have ur own fan base is very important for original. Let's do our best for the rest of the boothing. Jiayouuu 🙏

selling original stuff is really hard if you dont have strong followers, but me personally i prefer events that focus more on original stuff, its more creative and have more variety of art. thanks for sharing the video. love to see your nex journey, as an artist who also open booth at events in Malaysia i see your vlog as inspiration.
