This movie reminds me of my dad❤️. He loved this movie and when I was a kid in the 80’s, he taped it on VHS, and we watched it together many times. I loved it and I loved the music in it.
cracked me up! AYE! 😂
同じ曲(同じコード進行の中で)これだけ違う曲想の歌を共生させるなんて凄いデスね。
この子が日本の洋楽界のベストプロデューサーになっていたのデスね。
That's a little Scottish chorus.. one for the drunks to sing along too 🤣
Only one other comment. Come on lads. Show love for the big yin
The Five Pennies. Great movie
Genius 😂😂
👍😁
*You're experiencin' the swindle . . .
May God bless all new fathwrs and mothers...cherish your precious blessing together and forever...a family is the most precious blessing in life...for anyone fortunate enough to share life with your own child and spouse...hold them close in person and heart always and forever
i wonder where she is now.
So funny
You can't get this very much anymore...
Would love to see this movie again!
Wonderful song.. love it.. ❤
I was born in 1945 and lived at 517 Dalmarnock Rd until I was 8, and went to Strathclyde School, then moved to Toryglen around 1953 and on to Toronto in 1960. Billy Connolly's song says it all..
Music cannot see colours
These instruments have gone now I used to dance to these back in the 60s
This startes about 15 seconds too late, after Barbra puts him down for being too sure of himself
Also, here we hear two virtuoso trumpeters together, a great bit, as Red played his parts in this movie, and Danny was outstanding as a mimic...
Huge credit must go to his wife - Sylvia Fine - who wrote "Lullaby in Ragtime" and Five Pennies" so they could be sung into the third tune. Her skill as a songwriter is amazing - to have three different songs that integrate so perfectly shows exceptional talent.
Loved the corries a sad day when Roy died sad miss
Her eyes during the performance at 38:00 are magic. There is a time of 3 or 4 seconds in there that are pure joy. I could watch this over and over.
Great video to a great song. Smash the system and it's servants. The time has come for the people to fight back. #Class War 2023.
Beautiful. I always loved this movie. I sang all three songs to my kids when they were little as lullabies. Brilliant how they harmonize. That's the work of Sylvia Fine, Danny Kaye's wife.
Lyrics: Now I′ll tell ye the story of Big Nellie May, She took up the golf in a serious way. Wi' her shiny new clubs and her big plastic bag, She could easily have passed for Jack Nicklaus in drag. Toora loo, toora lay Now Nellie was handicapped more than the rest, Her stroke was impaired by the size of her chest; Her over-development proved her downfall, When she swung, they both swung and all missed the ball Now Nellie decided they hampered her stroke, So she tethered them up wi' a big piece of rope. But they didn't like being tied up in the noose; And the very next stroke both the rascals were loose.. Well, in sheer desperation she turned to the pro, Who looked at poor Nell and said "Well, I don't know... I′ve only seen two that look like yours do, And they were on a camel in Calder Park zoo." Well, this pointed remark at the poor girl′s physique Caused Nellie to lash out in a great fit of pique. Her blow caught the pro in his most cherished spot, And now he′s got two just as big as she's got.
Only 3 up votes in 8 years. The Corries are so much better than that.
Thank god for Mr William Connolly
このシーン🎥 最高❗ 大好き❗ お人形のような女の子❗ ずっと観ていたい 聴いていたい🎵 有り難うございます❗
若い時にこの映画を5回見ました。この映画を観て感動したのが覚えています。
I think it's incredible that no matter what style of music the Corries play, it always sound fantastic, and it also really goes to show their range and wisdom musically, while also showing their knowledge and experience in life as well. Masters of music do that, and masters of music are the Corries.
The talent just in this scene alone is breathtaking.
Kul
Espectacular
お見事。三人で違う唄を絶妙のハーモニー
Good night
Loved Danny Kaye and I loved Susan Gordon too.
懐かしくとっても、心がいやされる☺️いつも聞きたいと何年も思っていたので廻りあえて!よかった👍️
A song that never seems to become less relevant, in a world of BLM and met corruption.
Masterpiece!
Jazz coolness and cuteness!!!
Love this song!
The Lewis Bridal Song Chorus: Step a-gaily on we go heel for heel and toe for toe, Arm and arm and row on row all for Mary's wedding. Over hill ways up and down; Myrtle green and bracken brown, Past the shielings through the town, all for sake of Mary. Chorus: Red her cheeks as Rowan's are, bright her eyes as any star, Fairest of them all by far, that's our darling Mary! Chorus: Plenty herring, plenty meal, plenty peat to fill her creel, Plenty bonnie bairns as well that's our toast for Mary.
If I see this.... I stop and listen. This film is my favorite Danny Kaye film.
So very true of that era. lol
fav song 💕
Hermosa película de mi infancia! Cuantos recuerdos !!! Gracias
I USED TO SING THESE SONGS TO MY CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE, I MEMORIZED THE SONGS WHEN I WAS ELEVEN YEARS OLD.
I love this Corries song, thank you for reminding me of it <3
Now two little boys had two little toys A whistle and a helmut blue And when they were wee it was plain to see What they'd grow up into They were hittin' other weans, bashing in their brains And shoppin' everybody too They didn't reform, now they're in uniform They're two little boys in blue Do you think I could leave you lying When I could lie my head off too If somebody squaks in the witness box I'll cover up for you I'll tell a pack of lies, pull the wool over their eyes The way the sergeant taught us to Before you count to three we'll be off scott free We're two little boys in blue Now the duty sergeant said tuck the prisoners into bed But before you take their cocoa through Keep them in their cells and hit them where it tells But don't leave them black and blue You can kick them on their balls, bounce their head off the walls Bash them on the kidneys too Beat them on the legs and thighs but don't give them black eyes Or you'll be a prisoner too Do you think I could leave you lying When I could lie my head off too If somebody squaks in the witness box I'll cover up for you I'll tell a pack of lies, pull the wool over their eyes The way the sergeant taught us to Before you count to three we'll be off scott free We're two little boys in blue So if you see them on the beat As they swagger down your street Here's a piece of advice for you Don't trust your luck turn around RUN LIKE THE CLAPPERS! From the two little boys in blue Do you think I could leave you lying When I could lie my head off too If somebody squaks in the witness box I'll cover up for you I'll tell a pack of lies, pull the wool over their eyes The way the sergeant taught us to Before you count to three we'll be off scott free We're two little boys in blue
This is my favorite scene, and one of favorite movies. I always have to watch this scene 3xs so that I can sing each part. Lol! 💖
