When I put my 1968 f100 on the 2003 vic PI found a dude that had already peeled the body off the vic,,,,,,,, made it way more easier
build it
i have adhd aswelll man
What year is the 240 ?
I love the idea of the frame swaps and there have been many great ones. But I disagree with you about needing patina. It's overdone. Every car show I attend either has flat black cars/trucks with red rims or shined up patina. Both of those used to be unique, but now they all look the same. That truck deserves some paint.

I had just assumed you were leaving the Crown Vic motor in there. Now you're going to ruin this Ford by installing an LS? Shame shame shame. I still subscribed though.😂
@@spaceghost8995 you must have missed the episode where I explained why.. The crown Vic had blowed head gaskets and Im not a expert mechanic. Didnt want to waste the time on a maybe. Instead decided to go a route Ive done before with the LS lol
@@DustyMacsGarage It's hard to find videos in sequential order on most channels.
New viewer from Indiana here!
@@spaceghost8995 glad to have ya!! Cheers from SC!!
Go for that sporty look Mac. 🇿🇦
Great job so far. Glad you are exposing your son in the build
Hey I heard you mention a 280z parts car. Is the spare tire well salvageable. If so will you sell it? Thanks Love the channel. Although, you might be a glutton for punishment on this one.
You’ve come far my man.. one of my favorite z builds to watch
@@jpearce648 appreciate that bro!!!💪🏻
Awesome!!! It is starting to really take shape. Looking forward to the next step!! And I don't mind the talking. It is entertaining and informative
Appreciate the kind words!!!
Did you do your own rendering for truck
@@donniehamlett2157 no I think in one of the videos or actually with the renderings, it has the designers Instagram account. I put it in the description of the main videos giving him credit.
I couldn't remember @@DustyMacsGarage
@@donniehamlett2157 no worries 😃
Looks like a 700R4 may have dropped right in. That crossmember for the TH350 isn't going anywhere. Great job.
Thanks!!!! Hope it dont 😂
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your videos on this S30 Z. You sharing your in-depth knowledge of welding is quite impressive.
@@dwantaylor704 yooooo!!!! I appreciate the kind words!! How many videos have you watched in the build series so far?
First video for me, looking forward to seeing more of it
Yooo! Stoked its your first video, Ive made tons of progress since this video. Check out the play list if you havent already. Hoping to have a new video of the F100 ready soon!!
The trouble is Dusty time is more precious than money and the sweat equity going into that Datsun is unreal! You’ve got a family and a day job so don’t put yourself under too much pressure. If it takes 6 months to get another Datsun video out I’ll still come back and watch it. Take it easy man!👍
Yoooo! Mark, cant express the appreciation I get from your comment. Im glad you undetstand time and sweat equity!! Day job and family defintley make it challenging to get out more content, but Im stoked you will return no matter the time it takes!!
I know the struggle with adhd 😂 also I’m in the process of swapping an f350 cab on a 05 grand marquis frame your videos have helped me out so thanks!
Yoooo!! Glad Im not alone in knowing the struggle with the adhd bro!!! Stoked to hear your body swapping your own stuff!!! Stay in touch!! Hope to have a new video out soon on the F100.
I feel your pain Dusty! I started with a better, all together and running, Z and it still took me 15 years to get it back on the road. Don't feel pressured to finish just because of those out there in internet land. Do it your way and on your time. I will continue to watch. Love your tenacity, keep it up!
Yooooo! Mike appreciate the support and glad to hear you got the Z done regardless of how long it took. And you are right some out in internet land have a unrealistic expectation of things lol. Thanks for the kind words!!!🤘🏻
I want to mount my spare under the car too, because I like the idea of getting to the spare without having to unload whatever's in the trunk, hopefully I continue the plan of air ride because otherwise it could get complicated wrestling it out, I do have bits from a Colorado (like the hoist) leftover because the drivetrain will go in the '79 LUV project for my uncle. "Best intentions" is right, that truck is crowding my plate
Niceee!!! And yeah, unloading trunk isnt ideal either lol You have to remind me again exactly what vehicle/s your working on. I appreciate the support and comments bro!!
Keep going on that zee mate. My 240z without exaggeration was twice as rusty as yours. There’s not much original metal left in mine. Mmmm I probably would do it again. 😂
Maybe once Im done, I will look back and say I would do it again too 😂 time will tell ha ha. Hope all is well 😃
The panther trans Cross member is intentionally tight, this was the last body on frame car and it helped meet side impact crash testing, they also added seat side airbags. If you've got a straight and angled pry bars and a floor jack to put it back its not bad. I think you now have the excuse to buy or make (sometimes homemade are better! Or at least cheaper) some bigger pry bars since you're keeping this and you'll probably be the next guy to remove it again.
Yooo! Andrew, yeah it was extremely tight coming out. Going back in was a breeze after cleaning the dirt and debri out. And yeah Im gonna be the guy that take it out again at somepoint 😂
I feel the same way about my 53 Hornet, it's a rusty Connecticut car and a literal basket case, but any other complete example is 10k+ and with a title $15k even with a seized engine! A cheap entry is a lot of work but so satisfying.
Andrew, your right, cheap entry and it is satisfying when you look back at where you started for sure!!! But man what a journey lol
3:09 no more true words ever spoken. It’s always the rear end HAHAHA.
😂 Glad ya got a kick outta that bro
Looking forward to that startup vid! 🔥🔥
Yesssirrrr!!!!! Remember the foxbody first start video 😂
I can only do 1 project at a time. Good !😂
Thats not bad thing Joey 😉 Hope all is well with ya!
My lady accidentally dropped my coffee cup merch, so I'll be ordering another one soon 😅 Any promo codes 😉 jk jk Hope all is well bud It's a Tedious process replacing those spots it seems. I do the same thing when planning to do something. In my head it's done automatically 😂 Looks good tho cuz. I understand the method to the madness, balance both projects since the Dotty will take a while. I think even though with all the setbacks, it has been a really cool journey so far.
Thanks for the support!!! Glad ya understand what I mean when I say in my head its finished but in real life it takes way longer. Sorry bout the coffee cup bro 😔
@@DustyMacsGarage It's all good, just means I get to support the channel again 😉
@@MichaelPittmanJr. Facts bro 😂
Hey guys, can you relate to the struggle of building projects with ADHD. I intentionally left in some of my rambling and changing topics so you guys can see how fast my brain moves!! Keep going on your own projects and hopefully you guys can relate!!
I'm the same way brother. I'm building an 85 cherokee xj 2 door that was destined for the crusher but like you I cut the whole floor out and started with fresh sheet metal and began welding. I'm almost to the point of being done and then I scrape away the amc/ jeep glue undercoat and boom another hole. So I get it but it's a project and some can take years. Keep pushing man. I love the honesty and work you do sir. Have a great day 😀
That Z panel looks really cool. You gotta keep it visible and not run carpet in the back. The klekos are really useful huh.
Brooo, those klekos are legit. They just been wasting away collecting dust on my shelf 😂 and yeah it would be cool with the Z exposed!!
Hey maybe you can get the truck done by my birthday, 10/29/‘64. Maybe?
Ha ha... No problem 😂. Not sure if you have watched the latest videos on it, but Ive gotten alot more done since this video. I didnt meet my goal but it pushed me to get further.. Hope all is well 😃
I’m just found your channel and enjoying it greatly!!
I see now you just found the channel. Hope ya enjoy. Got more up to date videos on my F100 as well as my wifes 240z. Thanks for the comment!!
👍build your truck it is your dream.
Yesssss!! I agree 😃
Oooooo how about that! Congratulations winners!!!
Congrats!!! How is your mom doing? Last I heard you mentioned she was in hospital?
@@DustyMacsGarage Well she has went home. She doesn't have much of a memory. She fried her brain pretty bad. She at times can remember who people are, but she's gone most the time.... DRS say she may return to us. Brain damage varies... She'll need someone to be with her for the rest of her life
I have the same set of clecos
Yooo!! Right on bro!!!! I love em!!
Hell yea buddy! I’ll always be here supporting. Do what you gotta do!
Yooooo!! OG!!!! I always appreciate the support bro!!!!
Sweet
Thanks Joey!!!
Awesome!!!
Yooo..Thanks!!!
Man, use that AC when recording. We understand it's hot in there.
Ha ha Right on!!!! 💪🏻💪🏻
Plz build the 240 with a “tasteful” race inspired theme. Great work!
Yooo!! Check out the latest video I just posted on the 240z. Its my wifes so ultimately she has the final say, but tasteful widebody and L24 sounding great right now is the direction.. Thanks for the kind words!!!
Great work, yes it does take alot of time to restore a car especially when it's just yourself. I'am currently restoring a 1975 Ford Cortina and it is taking a long time, and going to have to stop working on it due to the cold. Unfortunatly I don't have heating in my garage :( which if I did I would still do through out winter.
Yeah, it does take time solo... Glad to hear you have a project of your own. The weather does add challenges for sure to the mix. I wish I had a big heater for the garage for winter here, but right now during winter, I just use a little plug in heater and put it beside me 😂
Ping pong with a shovel sounds like a good workout too 😂
Now that I think about it Ping Pong with a shovel would probally mean someone is gonna be getting hurt 😂 Im glad you got a kick out of me being random ha ha
😂 Definitely. Just getting to the end of the video. Looks awesome, especially to have eyeballed it. Gotta have them parallel lines. Fist bump back to ya cuz 👊 😉
@@MichaelPittmanJr. Factsss!!! 👌🏻👊🏻👊🏻
You're gonna LOVE having the cleco pins when putting more patch panels in place. Way better than clamps or magnets
Yeah, they work awesome. I ordered them probally a year ago and just forgot I had them 😂 dope😬
Good on you for giving back to the fan and subscribers
Thanks boet!! Hope all is lekka your way!!! Give that Rx7 a brap for me 😂
Love the Z boet. Also, thanks for explaining the clickos
Yooo! Adin! Hope all is well boet!! Glad ya enjoyed the explanation!! Im glad I remembered I had those... I could have been put them to use 😂
@@DustyMacsGarage lol! I also had a love at you, Dusty, saying the tools are dusty.. hahahaha
Dusty did you want to remove the spare wheel well to save weight. It didn’t look that far gone rust wise? The Z motif flat panel looks cool but personally I’d try to retain the well if only for extra storage. Great work though 👍
Yoooo! Mark! Nah it didnt have anything to do with saving weight. Did it for few reasons, 1.) It was shot. Pin holes everywhere on it, hard to really see om camera and that was without me sanding both sides all the way down. 2.) With us going widebody/flares, there is a good chance we wouldnt fit a actual spare in there anyway. Hope all is well on your end. As always I appreciate the thoughts and support!!!!
That's it bro, I'm glad you're back recording again, looking forward to the 240z 😆🇧🇷✌🏻
Yooo! Thanks for the support bro. Never stopped recording just took short break from my wifes 240z to and recorded the work on my shop truck. Bouncing between the 2 now. Hope all is good bro!!! Cheers mate!!
The car is getting righteous
Yooooo!!!💪🏻💪🏻
