Hi, yes I tried twice now and both times the pink flamigo melted away. I even bought a glass jar with suction cups to keep the flamigo away from the Cory's but again it melted away. If you have any success, please let me know.

@AquaticArtUK oh no! Did you have CO2? Think I'd try it again in a CO2 tank, but that's not ideal for shrimp of course...

Mine are 25.5 with no lid on the tank and they are still thriving despite what some may advise on youtube.

Mine love blood worms once a week, bug bites tropical they gobble up, prebiotic tropical and at night I throw in mini algea and singing wafers and pleco formula bug bites.

@@AquaticArtUK The Reticulated Loach i finally got him to eat cucumber. The other two Borneo wont touch anything ive put in. Or at least i have not witnessed them eating anything i tried. They must be eating something because its 4 mos now and they are still alive. Recently i started putting in Bacter AE that builds up biofilm.

I put in courgette, just keep them sliced in the freezer and then put them in boiling water for 5 mins and weigh them down with a small plant weight.... took a while for them to start seeing it as food but like you there all still alive after several months lol

@@AquaticArtUK I do have some cut up and frozen. I put one in two days ago its gone but its mostly the Kribensis that eats it. The Reticulated Loach eats it to but the borneo doesnt. I agree with the temp thing i have mine set at 76F. I do have a lid on mine and my tank turnover is 8x the volume...

Give them bok choy .. they will enjoy it the most

I have since removed the drop checker as I see it as a waste of time, once things are steady and settled in. Co2 plant growth was slow but steady for months, and then all of a sudden, I am struggling to keep plants. trimmed

100% love hillstream loaches but was always too scared to keep them because of all the misinformation on youtube.

@Matthias.Terboven-Aquaristik Good move - my Cory's were uprooting them, so I had to bury them deep in the substrate and place pebbles on top and then pour even more sand over them to keep in place 🌱🐠🌿

Pete, I have excellent news for you, I run co2 with bagged dirt under my sand and with added wood in my tank, so my hillstream live in my tank at a pH of 6.2 and I have had them for about 2 months now and upto now they are doing wonderfully 🌱🐠🌿

@AquaticArtUK I held off having them for the same reason! I am about 2 months in with them and was quite nervous at first. But they are busy happy little fish. I do have two filters running, a sicce internal with spray bar and a Fluval 206 canister on their tank. Just to be sure the O2 levels are good for them. 🙂 oh my channel is super casual with my little old android phone. But thank you! 😊

​@lindaj I lowered my water level to the same height as my spray bar to give them some more flow and as my video the powerhead is far too strong for the tank size but God willing I plan on getting a bigger tank next year. 2 filters wow what size is the tank please?

@@AquaticArtUK It is a 40 gallon breeder. Short answer, I've accumulated extra equipment over the years and was planning on switching out filters but never got around to it. Saw how happy fish/plants are and decided to leave both filters running. Long story my fluval 206 needed some repairs, so I got a sicce internal filter in the interim while the tank had less stocking. I finally got my 206 repaired and decided to get it going again, let it season and develop the beneficial bacteria colony then I was going to pull the sicce and put it in another tank. But the tank is doing so well *touch wood* I decided leave it running with two filters. Plus can't hurt and I want to add some more fish and will have plenty of capacity along with the plants to handle additional bio load. 😀 (in edit - oh and I have eheim skimmer running in it as well, I think for the hillstream loaches, even though water isn't blasting about, more movement is good for them and O2. Just my theory though)

@lindaj hey, as the saying goes, if it's not broken, then don't fix it, and the loaches will love any extra flow. Oohhhh Eheim skimmer, I have often thought about a skimmer as my lidless tank sometimes acquires an oil on the surface. Would the skimmer fix that, do you think?

Thank you, yes i am also the fact that they seem have have embraced that piece of wood lol and they have managed to break the surface of the water which was an unexpected bonus. I am thinking of planting a lucky bamboo cutting into that piece of wood as I have been growing some in preparation. Keep up the good work bro 🌱🐟🌱

It's a custom made aquarium from here in the UK, 32 inch length, 14 inch width and 16 inch high. I had it custom made to fit onto my old Fluval Flex cabinet. 31 gallons 🌱

Thanks, most people don't like the tyres but they have saved me money as I've had them on the bike for 2 years plus and ride it every day and tread is still looks like rhino skin lol
