Cantabs need to re-brief their coxes and child rowers on the correct procedures after bumping. This is a fucking shambles. The Chesterton cox was lucky to not be seriously hurt. As soon as the leading cox concedes, the chasing cox should be holding up their boat. The bow man in the Cantabs boat is even trying to push on Chesterton bow ball to hold up his boat after the bump. You would think Hills Road students would understand the conservation of momentum law a bit better. Did the cox forget they could talk? I guess the moment got to them. Over hyped bumps crew check list: 1- No attempt to hold up. Yup 2- No attempt to move out the way after the bump. Yup 3- Bank party that wouldn't know the rules if they slapped them in the face. Yup 4- Bank party more interested in getting willow than getting their boat out of the middle of the river. Yup 5- Nearly causing a massive accident for the following boats. Yup They should strip the bump from them and hence their blades to teach them a well deserved lesson. I was in the Chesterton crew and fully concede they were much faster and deserved to bump us but they were just plain dangerous and disrespectful. They caused carnage for the next 3 boats through still being stuck out in the river in the middle of first post corner. They didn't even bother to pull the stoke-side blades in. I get they were hyped about getting blades but they are lucky no one got seriously hurt. Being the "premier" Cambridge club you would hope they might know a bit better... Apparently not.
This is W2?
Ooops…
