Wild Camp And Hike Up Djouce
Brought two of my friends for their first wild camp.
We got hit with some bad weather but as you can see we laughed our way through it, and some wine helped!
Park: Crone Woods
Camp: River Dargle (50 mins from car park)
Hike: Djouce (about 2 hours up and down)
As always we left the camp spot as we found it.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have watched this a few times over the past year or so, and am now actually going to embark on the Wicklow Way next week with my girlfriend, and am once again, watching your video...thank you immensely 🙏
I sincerely hope that you haven't given up making your great videos!!! Hope all is good with you and yours
Really helpful Laura
What type of tents are using ?
One is a 2 man vango nevis, and my brothers is a crivit from Lidl!
Great vid - good info!
Great stuff Laura , your mother is a legend 🫶👏👏 nicely shot and edited. We done the 60km loop a few years back in October. I recognised some of the spots. It wasn’t easy though it was beautiful and challenging 🌿🌳🌲🌳🌿 keep up the great work 🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🍀
Heading for here this weekend
Hey Laura, good video, well done.👍 Looking forward to do Wicklow way hike this summer. Was wondering how long does that butane cartridge lasts?
Thanks for your comment Denis! Ah I actually wouldn’t be able to tell you, we got about 7 days of 2-3 cooks per day out of ours, but I think it would depend!
👍👍🇮🇪🍀
Those steaks are very rare . Loving life
The way they should be 😉
@@laurakealy9363 my wife is the same , straight off the animal , run a match over it
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Sheep shit in it as well - we’ll tease that out of it 😂
She’s a innovative woman!!
Wow and a little lamb too
Nice to see turkeys and chickens on ur way 😂
That’s an amazing amount of walking .
Brilliant cheers
Just a lovely video, what a memory to have with the Ma.Really great craic I really enjoyed your happy humour and laughter. Thanks
Thanks Derrick!
Enjoyed your wild camping vid of the Wicklow Way. Helped w/ my planning for spring 2023 (from Texas). Cheers!
Delighted it was of some use, if you have any questions before you head off let me know!
Laura came across your videos recently and love them.. I'm Irish living in New Zealand and really enjoy " tramping" since living here as its so easy to access and multi day tramps are the norm.. your mother is a legend!!!!
Cheers Nadine, I’d say you see some beautiful sights down that end of the world!
I've been camping at that very spot since the early 1980s and you girls really have it down pat. Hiked right out there, weather no problem, fed and watered yersels royally, and left no trace behind you. Obviously enjoyed it all too. Bravo!
Your mother is amazing 👍💪👊
Cheers Fred
Nice, camped in the same spot last Thursday as part of 2 days from Laragh to Glencullen, midges were wicked. Saw a hot air balloon rise from the Deerpark, on its way to observe the super moon I guess.
Hi Laura, I know the spot exactly that you camped in. Was that a weekend or midweek? I noticed other campers in you video. I would love to solo camp there midweek. Just wondering is it a busy spot for campers?
I camped there last Thurs, only one other tent initially when we arrived at 7.30, but 3 others came after us.
It was a Saturday Gerard, I'd say it would be quieter during the week though!
I watched the three of the videos - Legends.
Thank you!
You’re a mad lot and you make great videos of the places I’ve been walking for more years than I can remember. Thanks.
Glad you like them!
Hey is it safe enough to leave a car in crones wood over night .. ?
Yea it actually gets locked at nighttime
The hair stuck to the roof of the tent was a classic 😂 Looked like a fun trip - dinner and brekkie certainly looked appetising! Looked great 👍
Thank you Miriam!
Nice! I'm there next week, I'm hoping it won't be sideways wind then 😅
Hope you had better weather than us!
Looks like great craic...
It was!
Great vid. Planning to do this with my father and son and a few neighbours want to do it as well. Planning it for August some time.
Have fun!
I’m planing to walk part of this way this summer so thanks for posting this video. 30k is fair going. Happy trails.
Hope you enjoy it!
Greetings from California, the scenery looks very beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Great video. Laughed at the Blair Witch moment in the abandoned house!
Ha we got a good laugh out of that situation ourselves!
Great video, I live beside this walk and have walked lots of these paths but never actually done the full round trip of the Tain way, but after watching I think I will, and fair play to ur mum 👍 PS put the 15 euro boots in the bin 🤣
It a lovely one! Ha I know, the hunt for boots that don't give me blisters continues!
This is mad. I was only thinking during the week if you would be posting more or doing more hikes. I look forward to watching later on tonight.
Your mother is a lot fitter than you are Laura, you're going to need another 20 years of hiking to catch up haha
Oh she's miles fitter than me - she's like a mountain goat! :D
@@laurakealy9363 I hope to bump into both of you on one of my hikes, I'll be sure to say hello.
Look into getting a pair of trail runners, I have the altras lone peaks. I hope it solves your blister problem
Thank you, will look into them!
I’m so glad I came across this great video, lovely to see you and your family enjoy the trail. You’re very well organised so well done on completing the way in 5 days. I walked it in 2016 in seven. Happy trails.
Thanks for watching Michael!
Hey great video, what did you use for the interactive map you were using for this trail?
It was All trails app
Thanks for the amazing video, lovely places.. hopefully I will visit soon :) have a nice day
Well done guys! I really enjoyed the videos. 6 weetabix must be a record!! ☺️
Nice one. I have done the full thing, but never in one go, just some multi day spurts (a colleague of mine ran the full thing once). Must check out your Slieve Blooms video now, that one is on the list.
Great video, looking forward to doing this trail myself.
Really helpful Laura, thanks. I'm going to do this trail in the next few weeks :)
really awesome video. where were you camped at minute 12 of the video? cheers, chris

That was a truly well earned pint 😋😎
Such beautiful views, and seemed a good laugh too. Would you mind posting your recipe for the breakfast mix? I'm subbed now, please keep trekking and filming 😉😎
