Where? From the Opera, The Rabbits
Sung by Charlotte O'Hara - 12 Yrs
Music by @katemillerheidke
Libretto by Lally Katz (with additional music by Iain Grandage).
Based on the book by John Marsden illustrated by Shaun Tan.
As per the original book, The Rabbits, is allegory for the colonisation of Australia, depicting an invasion of rabbits (in lieu of the English settlers) described as alien, harsh and greedy, as they destroy the land and lives of the native marsupials (in lieu of the original Indigenous population).

I ‘m not running down any other Queen on the current throne or to come but yes, she’ll always be THE QUEEN to me(🇦🇺). Thank you for choosing this version of Skye Boat Song. Moving enough on its own but combined with the video, tears fall quickly.
That was truly beautiful. ❤
I am an old git of 72 and I so miss our Queen.
I still miss our Queen. 😢
Brilliant version, so good to be able to hear every word
The most amazing words EVER!!!!
Made me cry 😢
What movie does this come from
The RF love anything Scottish
Her mother's family were the Earl of Strathmore's from Glamis Castle, Bowes-Lyon still reside there.
Nana Mouskouri's version still the best ever
Charlotte! If you sang this it’s incredible! I’ve listened a numb of times . It was wonderful ❤ And a great tribute to the Queen ❤️
I come from clan ogliviy lord ogliviy married queen Elizabeth 2nd's first cousin im also a wallace robertson and Stuart from Bonnie Prince Charlie this song has a version about him (carry the lad that is born to be king over the sea to the skye )
Absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh how loved she was ❤
I have known the Skye Boat song my whole life and although the tune is fine, this is the wrong song, the *wrong* lyrics . The traditional and correct words to The Skye Boat Song are Speed bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing Onward! The sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye Loud the wind howls, loud the waves roar Thunderclaps rend the air Baffled our foes, stand on the shore Follow, they will not dare Speed bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing Onward! The sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye Many's the lad fought on that day Well, the claymore did wield When the night came, silently lain Dead on Culloden field Speed bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing Onward! The sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye Though the waves leap, soft will ye sleep Ocean's a royal bed Rocked in the deep, Flora will keep Watch by your weary head Speed bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing Onward! The sailors cry Carry the lad that's born to be King Over the sea to Skye
She was the Queen for my entire life.
My granny used to sing this song to me when I was a wee boy. God, I miss my Queen...
She was the beacon for leadership and grace, humility and humor, she showed the world way a woman can do with dignity and grace and kindness,I’m an American and she was the only queen I have ever seen and it’s like my grandmother has died… rest in peace my beloved queen you have fulfilled your duty!!❤❤❤
Always Tears ,,,,,, Im so glad I wont see what becomes of my Britain , Oh how she has changed ,, I fear of what becomes of our beautiful disappearing way of life ,,
No different or better than anyone else. God does not show respect when judging man. We are all the same.
My daughter and I arrived in London the day the Queen died. We were staying 2 blocks from Buckingham Palace. It was amazing to see how very loved and respected she was.
My Mom sang this to me so many times when l was wee... beautiful ❤️..she will forever be in my heart as will The Queen will be .the World has gone a bit crazy and dark since she has left us..
I have only known one queen and welcome a new one......but I will always remember The Queen.....may she rest in peace.
Absolutely beautiful. Her Majesty The Queen would have appreciated your kind gesture. ❤️
So proud to have had this amazing lady as my Queen.God Bless your majesty...
That is NOT the real Skye Boat Song,
She reminds me so much of my own mom. 😢❤This was her era. The clothes, the manners, the makeup, everything. That's why is was so hard letting her go. It was like my mom leaving all over again.
I feel the same. My mom looked similar to the Queen when they were both young adults. It is hard to go on after they’ve left us.
PARADOX
She was so awesome. I was named Elizabeth in honor of her, and we aren't even Brits.
Her Majesty was truly one of a kind. She brightened my life throughout the years. A kind soul, amazing leader and strong woman. I miss her every day.
I’m an American. Texas is my home state. I love my country and have been an anglophile most of my life. My Mom went to England & Scotland in ‘88. i went with her in ‘89. I look nothing like her. When she came home she mentioned how while in London prople would smile at her, and be most polite. They would stare at her. We all thought it was because she was a foreigner, and were drawn to her sweet smile, and disposition. She was a pretty lady too. When she & i went in ‘89 i witnessed this behavior too. I finally figured out why people reacted to her, and it’s because she looked like she could be a close relative of Her Majesty. Mom had black hair, white, smooth skin, and lots of teeth showing when she smiled. She even wore her hair like The Queen. She was in her mid 60’s, and very fit. She was always well dressed, but nothing too ornate. They were polite to me, but Mom was their focus. i look at my pics from that trip and see the resemblance. 😁
Oh wow. I have chills. She was a fine woman. There will never be another like her.
My god, I do miss our beautiful Queen. She was a constant presence in all of my 68 years. So dignified and unique.
Elizabeth the Great. 👑
Seeing her as an ambulance driver and mechanic makes my respect for her soar.
Me too.
My Queen my beautiful Queen there, will be no other that will take her place. Miss her dearly.
So poignant - we used to sing this song in Boarding School - sing me a song of a lad that is gone (I believe for Bonnie Prince Charlie).
Thank you. I would like to sing this soon too.
I hadn't realised I was still sad about THE Queen's passing, until I saw this video... and you're right, they might have removed the word "consort" from Camila's title... THE Queen will always be Elizabeth II
An incredible woman ❤❤🇳🇿🇳🇿
We miss our beloved Queen. How we need her wisdom now! May she rest in peace 🕊️ Our prayers always 🙏
The very last goodbye with the Scott slowly turning away, walking away with his bagpipes just gets me every time. I cry still. The Queen will go down in history and the hearts of her people as the most beloved of the monarchs.
RIP HRH Queen Elizabeth 2 we need your comfort and guidance!
HM not HRH
Love this song
May her memory be a blessing
The entire country honored The Queen's, rising to the occasion with impeccable pomp and circumstance. She would have been so proud.
She will Always be My Queen ❤🤍❤.ca
There has only been 2 queens of England both named Elizabeth...God save the Queen
No there has been several Queens of the UK and its predecessor states you never hesrd of Queen Victoria or Mary, Queen of Scots?
God Save the Queen! And God Save King Charles III
I am an American and I fell in love with the Queen when I was 7 years old and watched her Coronation on our tiny black and white tv. My mom didn’t watch it with me but my father’s people were English and Irish and his mother looked almost identical to the Queen to me. Wore the pin on her left shoulder of her coat or dress, wore her hats like the Queen, same hairstyle, same thin lips, same lipstick, powder and rouge, she was the same height and body build. It was like seeing my grandmother and when I was young I looked very much like the Queen when she was young. My mom really preferred my brother over me but my mom was of a different ancestry she was Swedish and French so I don’t think she was happy how I looked so much like my paternal grandmothers side. But I really don’t care if she liked my looks or not, I’m okay with myself and I love the British pageantry. I miss the Queen! I also loved horses, I went riding when I was young, the last 30 years we owned horses, we had just 3 and now we are down to just one. I would have loved to have been a friend of the Queen but we had too much age difference and an ocean between us.
Ii live in America but I loved her just the same. A definition of strength, grace, beauty, commitment to her country.
