Hedgehog and Me.

I spotted this hedgehog in my garden. I went out to try and get him to eat from my hand. Unfortunately I wasn't successful.
Sparrowhawk in birdbath

Perhaps the most unusual visitor to my birdbath is this Sparrowhawk. I have seen it perched on the fence once before , but never had it come down to bathe.
Grey Wagtail

I get many common garden birds visiting my birdbath. This Grey Wagtail is among one of the less common visitors.
Barn owl
Переглядів 2042 роки тому
I had passed this spot several times and caught a glimpse of a barn owl either exiting the trees or circling the field beyond. I parked up to watch and got these shots of a male barn owl taking food to its' mate in the nest.
Interesting clip
Aw the "I need food" call.
Fox looks in good condition.Nice bushy tail
thanks, Now i know who is calling out in the woods :-)
Thankyou for taking the time to comment.
This is some good food on the floor. Bow this is living.
This year's cubs should be appearing very soon now.

Chatted to you about this on the phone earlier dave. Glad your keeping busy during lockdown!
Thanks for taking the time to look. There aren't enough hours in the day for me to keep up with editing all the footage I'm getting. I'm going to have to reduce the amount I save.
Ah, good fox!!
great video
nice content
First test recording on my new DVR system. I will be correcting the infrared eye shine problem in time for future recordings.
Just saw one yesterday just like that outside Ft Worth Texas....in daylight he was huge....twice the size of a cat...like a small bear....
Hi Patrick , I don't think the badger you saw is the same species as the badgers we have here in England. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_badger en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_badger All adult European badgers are significantly larger than a domestic cat but this individual was larger than is typical for the species , his head was very broad.
My friend and I made a video talking about Fox and other canines species on our channel if you're interested in watching it.
Compare the behaviour of these two badgers. First up is "Zippy".He just gets on with eating peanuts. Next up is "Timmy" , so called because he always appears timid. He hesitates before coming out of the hole and frequently pauses to listen for any danger. Finally he scurries back to the hole even though we couldn't see or hear anything to scare him.
Interesting to see that David, i never new they took carrion. Cheers my friend.
Thanks David. I did the same about a year ago just to see what would happen. They took that too. The video is further down my page. ua-cam.com/channels/tUSiY04zsb2qoclX6k_nTQ.htmlvideos
This video just helped me identify what sort of owl is calling outside my flat right now :D Thanks for the upload.
Thankyou for taking the time to comment. It's good to know when someone finds my stuff interesting or useful. I have an album of still photos of Tawny owls that you may like on Flickr. www.flickr.com/photos/davesbirds/albums
Brilliant
I've been watching this sett once or twice a week for almost a year now. They are extremely timid for some reason which I don't understand as their sett is safe , fairly remote and undisturbed. I hope eventually they'll become accustomed to flash photography like the clan at another sett which a friend of mine took me to see.
The badger seems unaware of the fox's presence behind him, The fox appears to consider it wise to keep a respectful distance from the badger.
Towards the end of the video there are five badgers in shot at once but there are at least six in the group. Something startled the badgers about 20 minutes into the video but they reappeared about five minutes later. At 42 minutes a local cat approaches but thinks it wise not to get too close to the badgers.
Have the eggs hatched? The odds are greatly stacked against these eggs hatching as the floor of the box is bare wood and there is no substrate for her to dig a scrape.
This will be a female robin, the males don't build the nest, they guard the territory whilst the female builds.
+eastbelfastno1 Thanks
Craking Video David
