Second week of the semester. We’re back to school after the fires in LA, but still no sports. Everyone is just waiting to hear when we can come back. It was a weird week but we made the best of it. We got to catch up with the kids during the after school program, see how everyone is doing in class, their thoughts on the season, and just overall how everyone has been doing. We’re back to school! We start league play this week and we’re finally back to school. I’m probably more excited for that than the kids. I’m excited to get back to practice, see all the kids again, and work towards winning league this year. That is one of our team goals, so we’ve got a good chance to achieve that.

Last week of winter break, the start of a new year, and another tournament. Both Christmas and NYE didn’t really feel like holidays this year. At least from my point of view. First week with actual days off! It’s also Christmas week! We don’t normally do anything for the holiday’s, but a quiet week to rest might just be what we need. It has been really busy since season started and it’s kinda nice to just have nothing on the schedule. We’ve got a tournament next week and I’m really interested to see how we do in that one.

Last practices of 2024 and our first tournament of the season! We’ve got a tournament this week and I’m super excited about that! This will be some kids first tournament ever so let’s see how they show up! This has been a busy semester but it has been fun and I love what I do, so it’s all been worth it. These kids have grown so much since we started and we’re not done yet!

It’s the last week of the fall semester and we’ve got three games back to back. I love game days but these games I’ve been looking forward to for awhile. Coaching against a long time friend in one game and then coaching against a former athlete who now coaches in another. First week back and we’ve got two games this week! December has a bunch of games and I’m excited for all of them! We’re showing growth and becoming more of a team but there’s still work to be done before we get into league. This week went by so fast but it was productive. We keep learning and we’ll get better each day. It’s part of the process and we must move forward!

We’re on our Thanksgiving break! The LA Auto Show, practice, the MOCA, hanging out with old friends, and Thanksgiving! This week was really fun! From not having any plans to having a pretty eventful week. It’s always fun when you don’t plan anything and then it unexpectedly turns out to be fun and eventful. This was a really good holiday break!

We’ve got a busy week! Two games this week and it’s the week before Thanksgiving break. We make adjustments after Friday’s game and get back to putting in work. We’re finally here, it’s game week! A few practices until we have our very first game of the season. I’m super excited and can’t wait to see how our athletes do! These kids have been putting in all this work and even though they’re a little nervous, they’re all really excited to play their first game.

One week before our first game! It’s getting closer and I’m so excited! These kids have been stepping it up. They are all excited and nervous. I tell them that’s normal and to just focus on what we need to do and they’ll be ready. I can’t wait to see how both our teams do! There’s so much potential and they’ve been showing it more each week.

This was a surprisingly fun week. Nothing too crazy, just business as usual and our homecoming football game, but each day had its fun moments and made it an overall good week. These kids have been improving every week and I’m so excited to get our games going. This school isn’t even like a second home it’s like the first home. I just enjoy being there and the people there.
