McCarthy Beach State Park Summer and Camping
We didn't know much about this state park before we got there and there was quite a few activities to do when we did get there. McCarthy Beach SP was filled with all kinds of different things to do. This is what we did while we were there.

Old Mill State Park Fun

Old Mill State Park was a park we had missed on a previous trip but it was worth it to go back. We made about an hour drive from Hayes Lake State park to Old Mill and we really enjoyed the park.
Our Favorite State Park - Whitewater State Park

This was our second time here at the park but after the first time we knew we had to go back. There are rivers, some elevation, wildlife, swimming beach and hiking all at the park. #hikingadventures
Hidden Gem Trail in Ely, MN - Kawishiwi Falls Trail

All the times I have been to Ely and I have never heard about this place. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and secluded this hike was. It is a short and beautiful hike. Check it out the next time you are in Ely. Thanks for watching.
Big Stone State Park

Big Stone State Park is located on the South Dakota/Minnesota state line. When we are out in western MN we stop by the park. At first glance I didn't think there were a lot of trails but there was two at the main park and there was another section miles down the road that had another. We did see a lot of animals on our quick hike.
One of the Most Underrated Hikes in the Twin Cities - Fairy Falls Hike

This is a quick hike in the Twin Cities but for a free hike and with little fanfare I was surprised at the falls. How underrated and low-key this hike was. As a fan of waterfalls I was surprised that this wasn't a full fledged state park.
Lake Carlos State Park in the Winter

We visited Lake Carlos state park in the winter but this winter in Minnesota was very mild and there wasn't much ice or snow to do winter activities.
Franz Jevne State Park - Labor Day Weekend

What a cool park this was and it located right on the US/Canada border. It has the look of a older park but it is remote and more secluded that a lot of the parks we have visited. There was excellent fishing and some decent hiking. We really enjoyed this one.
Zippel Bay State Park - Labor Day Weekend

Zippel Bay State Park is on the shores of Lake of the Woods. It is definitely dedicated to the lake as shown with the big boat launch that is at the park. The was a quick stop for us be we enjoyed the big beach and trail.
Big Bog Recreation Area - Labor Day Weekend

After Lake Bemidji we traveled north to Big Bog Rec Area on the shores of Red Lake. We camped the night at campground. The campground and lake area had a decent amount of people around except on the trails. I was amazed at the amount of wildlife we saw on our journey.

We made the drive from the Twin Cities metro area to Bemidji after work for Labor Day weekend. This park is where we kicked off our campaign of park for the long weekend.

Flandrau state park is looked in New Ulm Minnesota. We made the hour and a half drive from the Twin Cities metro area to visit the park in the fall.

Was there a camp host? Mosquitoes are always bad everywhere in the woods. Horrible.
I'm have been starting to appreciate prairies for that reason. Yes. There was a camp host. They were across from where we stayed at site #3, 4 or 5.

The music on this one was not great. It was not bad or nothin. It just wasn't that great. Thanks for the short video. I wish I could have seen the campground.
@@CavemanCBB I appreciate the honesty. I will do better on the next one. I have been filming the campsites to show as well this year. At Zippel Bay they were away from the lake so we didn't camp or check them out.

I live in the area and I enjoyed your video. A lot of people call it Kill-En woods. But, it is actually pronounced Ki-Len woods. No big deal. Glad you had fun.
Thank you. I definately messed that one up. I was really surpised at how much we enjoyed the park. I had driven by the sign while working down in Lakefield about 20 times. It was good to finally check it out.
