Operation Downfall V2 (Every Day)
This scenario depicts what may have happened if nuclear bombs were never invented and the United States invading Japan during World War 2.
Operation Downfall was the military codename for the two stage invasion of the Japanese home islands. It was drafted after the Battle of Okinawa and it's primary goal was to force the unconditional surrender of Japan by embarking Allied troops on the Japanese home islands. The plan was divided into two stages, Operation Olympic and Operation Coronet.
Operation Olympic was set on November 1 and was to involve the entire US and British pacific fleets as well as all available units to invade and capture 1/3 of Southern Kyushu. This would set the staging ground for the invasion of the Kanto Plain.
Operation Coronet was set on March 1, 1946 and was to be the follow up to Operation Olympic. The main Allied objective was to invade the Kanto Plain from the presumably captured Kyushu. From there they would move inland and seize Tokyo, hopefully forcing Japan to surrender. Further information afterwards is not clear.

No way it would have taken 10 years, the Japanese army was mostly anihilated and were down to fighting with mostly war time improvised or old weapons with little ammo supply. The soviets were knocking them out of Manchuria and possibly would have assisted in the mainland invasion. Even without the nukes, aeriel bombing could still have wiped out most major supply centers and important cities.
Questions Who was us president from 1945-1955? Who won us elections in 1948 and 1952? What happened to Japanese forces in Indonesia Malaysia indochina china and other island from 1945-1955? Who was the leader of Japan after the assassination of the emperor?
Are you working on a big video?
Free state of jones?
彻底消灭日本的君主制解放日本人。
How do you get the map data?
I don't think it's realistic that the Japanese would have surrendered in conventional warfare. They probably would have fought until every single last adult in the country was dead simply to delay the allies because that's what their culture demanded of them, especially at that point in the war.
Actually in OTL soviet only managed to conquered pacific part of manchuria due to Japanese refusal to fight after surrender
the vietnam flag in this situation is wrong because it’s the flag of the democratic republic of vietnam which was independent after japan surrendered
한국 오열
Can you make continuation of the first and second scenario?
The idea that Japan could’ve resisted overwhelming Allied power for so long is an unrealistic theory
Really it should have lasted only 2 to 3 years, not 10, considering that the Emperor is still alive in this scenario. If he dies though...it wouldn't just last a mere 10 years. It would last a lot longer.
@@vistagreat9994 Japan was on the verge of mass starvation at the time of the invasion and they committed most of their resources to the fight in Kyushu. Once that campaign was done the Tokyo region would not have held out long
@@andrewpizzino2514 That's why it should not have lasted 10 years with the Emperor alive. Of course, mass starvation means absolutely nothing if your only chance to surrender was taken away from you from your enemy. If Emperor Hirohito was killed by the Americans during this crucial moment, then American defeat is inevitable - its not a matter of if the Americans lose in that scenario, its a matter of when. But if the Emperor is still alive, once Kanto is taken and Kyushu is at least somewhat under tenuous control (which should occur at around 2 to 3 years), then the Emperor will probably surrender, breaking the 3 by 3 deadlock, and allowing the USA to get both most of Korea and all of Japan.
36 country against one a small country
Does this mean that in every universe Ukraine is forced to suffer? That's sad. Slava Ukraini!
If the US considered Japan-First instead of Germany-First in this war, the Operation Downfall would have been carried out. US WASTED half of their manpower in Europe and a lot in Africa. US should have stayed out from Europe and at least just supplied a lot of logistic oil and weaponary for Western Front without sending troops, while US overall manpower troops just need to focus on Pacific Front!! Oh, it would also be great if US disegregted their military rules in 1940s, US manpower would be way more effective, even thouh there will be racial tense issue like in Vietnam but soon as they get along, they've been effective together like how the Native American played their role as a fragger & codetalker in WW2 when they integrated with a White-majority in US military back then!!4
Because US didn't want for Soviet to take most Europe and US global priority is always for Europe
I could get why america lasted so long, it’s the freaking strongest nation
My only critique of this video are the goals. I believe the US would want a lot more than just white peace. The same could be said for the world team, like Mexico getting some of its lost territories in the 19th century, etc.
Why would the horribly weak KMT suddenly surge into Manchuria?! This is so unrealistic.
ukraine try not to be WW1 challenge
Well i mean, it never would have got that far, the Japs would have known it would have beeb futile. But I get it, its just a what if. Kinda cool.
Yeah, the war would not last this long if the Emperor lived (in which he does in this scenario). It would also not last this short if he died.
If I remember nankai trough had a huge earthquake in 1946, would of done some damage to the allied forces in this scenario
Operation Downfall would not have been a guarantee even if the atomic bomb wasn't used. Japan knew they were defeated and wanted a way out.
Japan was offered unconditional surrender but did not accept
I don't think USSR would involve, immidiately. They planned to occupied the whole East Asia mainland from Japan, specifically include China & Korea after their success in Manchuria. If USSR succeed on this one, I'm sure Korea won't be divided between North & South. Well, if USSR have quickly done their job in invading East Asia mainland before Western Allies fully done in Japan, USSR might join the invasion on Japan too, by attacking through the North side (Hokkaido), but as I say USSR need to pass through China & Korea first that was also heavily defended by a large amount remaining left of Japanese Army and let alone their Korean who became their puppet that been forced to, by IJA, in defending their territory in East Asia.
The 3rd scenario is very intresting, you should make a video out of it
Pov Maidan failed because Yanukovych pulled military to protesters (watch azarov exposing association) and usa invaded Ukraine
I think in a scenario where the US went against all countries of the world (obviously I doubt would happen), I think this video is near accurate to how long the US would last against all countries of the planet. The US trying to take control of Canada and Greenland while fighting Mexico makes sense, since the US would easily dominate any country in a normal 1v1 when it comes to a naval or airborne battle. Another thing that makes sense is how the US tried to regain control of the Pacific Islands since China is another strong powerhouse in the world. However, Russia and China alone would overwhelm the US military, but since all countries declared war on the US, the US lost many of its soldiers at this point and couldn't withstand the entire world.
Fake, the USA didn’t fight 7 entire alien races to win the war and flex on them haters. (Joke)
I can’t believe how Canada suffered so fast
R.I.P American simulation 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
An unified Vietnam post-occupation. A sweet dream not just for the Viet Minh, but for all Vietnameses at that time.
what's the 1st song used in this video?
Where Do I Find This Map
This is criminally underrated
Realistically, the US could certainly seize all of Canada, northern Mexico and part of the Caribbean in a few weeks rapid war. The US would next sink into economic stagnation because of its pariah status (like Russia since its invasion of Ukraine) and the war would turn into an indefinite impasse (as the rest of the world cannot get a foothold in North America because of logistics). A likely outcome to this conflict would be a negotiated peace agreement where the US would be allowed to annex Canada but would have to evacuate occupied territories in Latin America and give up Hawaii and other American territories in the Pacific.
Logistics is the major issue here, I cannot see the entire world being able to standardize all its forces, and work together enough to invade mainland US. The US would take a major hit due to loss of trade, but with access to Canadian national resources, they should be able to somewhat keep up with the world in terms of military powerful, especially factoring the massive technological gap. No country in the world has a better developed military than America. If anything, most militaries in the world would only prove to be a hidnerance, eating up supplies that would have better been spent elsewhere. Though the US being able to expand beyond NA is not that high, and the US being able to expand to the world is impossible. If the world took a quarter of a century, and was miraculously able to stick together through the entirety, then yeah they could win, but realistically, I doubt most nations would be able to sustain a 25 year war economy, without lots and lots of moral loss.
It would probably take at most 1 year
*at least At most, 2 to 3 years.
That typewriting sound is getting annoying really fast
Can we talk about the fact that Canada lost almost its entire population
Practically, Canada is now empty
In all fairness the world world have a very hard time it's un unified and no has the logistical support that the us does in 2 days the us military can be anywhere in the world not to mention the continental us is literally a fortress we have 2 oceans as a mote and enough resources to supply all off Europe and ourselves for 20 years also the united states has the most heavily armed population in the world even if you got past are military which is the largest and most advanced in the world you would then have to deal with it's citizens which considers about 300 million people in the US own guns you better believe no one could easily beat us
As unlikely as this scenario is, I am honestly fascinated by this, especially with the world war that’s about to ensue, a second part would be awesome!
This could only happen without what happened in 2014
I think a nation with 46% of the world's guns and unmatched industrial capacity could hold out for a while before being overwhelmed by the global forces.
How do you do these sims?
I doubt that Soviets would take all of Korea as they had an agreement with the US to split Korea. The Soviets would stop once they reached the 38th parallel.
But in this alternate Timelime, Soviet would occupied it. Fully occupied the whole East Asia mainland including China & Korea after their succeed in Manchuria, while Western Allies do operation downfall in mainland Japan
Well they more likely stuck in northern tip of korea because japanese will put more resistance and unlikely without Nuke . Soviet will rushed their operation in August 1945 instead in November along with US according to agreement and USSR still exhausted from fighting in Europe
@@pko_2.0_pop7they already make agreement with US
This wholly ignores overseas capabilities of the US, abd irl strategy. It iist has us invade Canada and Mexico and then get invaded ourselves.
Fun fact: Tennessee was split over the issue of session and slavery, with the west being fiercely pro-secession and anti-abolitionist, the east being ardently pro-union and anti-slavery, and middle Tennessee was caught in the middle. Tennessee initially held a referendum on secession in 1860, which was rejected by a 51% majority. However after the Battle of Fort Sumter, the Tennessee legislature, dominated by western plantation owners, held a second referendum, which was approved by around 80% of the electorate (mostly white men), making it the last state to secede and join the Confederacy. Despite this, East Tennessee was still pro-union, and attempted to split from the state to become its own (like West Virginia), but this was rejected and immediately crushed by the Confederacy (a bit ironic considering that they wanted to secede from the union), and the union was too far away to help them. Despite this, East Tennesseans engaged in guerrilla warfare against the confederates (notably a series of bridge burnings in 1861), even when East Tennessee was maintaind by the Confederacy throughout the war and the rest of the state was captured by the union. And when the war ended, Tennessee was actually the first state readmitted into the union (after abolishing slavery and ratifying the 13th amendment, likely due to more political influence by the east), in 1866, one year after the war ended. Because of this, Tennessee was the only confederate state that avoided military rule after the war.
How about you do France vs The World.
