I have a friend who went through the church's pornography step program about 12 years ago. He told my husband and I, that part of it involved him confessing to his friends and family about it. That was the reason he told us. I remember feeling so awful that the church made him tell people something so personal and private. I didn't need to know that about him. It didn't make me think less of him. It just made me angry at the church. This was at a time when health privacy laws were a hot topic, and proving to be super important. Just another shelf item for me.

Thanks so much for the updates and recaps. Whenever the topic of genetics comes up with Mormons, I invariably see someone bring up "genetic drift." It would be great if you could direct some attention to that apologetic response. I get it that any Hebrew DNA would clearly show up somewhere. Apologists try to use the genetic drift hogwash to say, "Maybe the identifying Hebrew genes went away." Apologetics is about "well, maybe ..."

The Internet destroyed my life (in a good way, as I'm no longer a Mormon). I was trying to figure out how the new Internet worked and how to search it, specifically using Netscape Navigator (an early web browser). I just started searching about Mormonism, Joseph Smith, etc., since I had 47 years of being a Mormon. It went from there. I was shocked at how much anti-Mormon information there already was on the Internet. I thought it was all lies coming from Satan. The trouble is, I followed-up and went to the original sources, such D. Michael Quin's three "Mormon Heirarchy" books, the "Journal of Discources," information from Jerald and Sandra Tanner, and more sources from the church itself. (I still have the lesson manual that said humans would never the go to the moon.) I was surprised that anti-Mormons were almost always accurately representing Mormonism. My surprise was because I was taught that anything that didn't agree with the church was coming from Satan.

MORMONS, NO RESTORATION IS NEEDED. Because Jesus already has established His Church. MATTHEW 16:18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it..." JUDE 3 "While I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints..." Jesus already has established His Church and built it on a rock so the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. Also, the faith was ONCE and for all already delivered to the saints. No mention of any Mormon restoration in the past, present, or future.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24: 23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God.

Awe, very nice. I’ve only been watching John a few months, I love his show. I’ve learned a lot about Mormonism, I’m a never Mormon. I really enjoy hearing how people’s eyes were opened and seeing freedom in their faces. Congratulations John D ( and to your wife and children as well).

The Robert K Ritner episodes of Mormon Stories Podcast were the detcord wrapping around my faith shelf. The poorly contrived apologetics of John Gee & Kerry Muhlstein through FAIR the ignition sorce for that detcord. More often than not, I find apologetics to be an exercise in logical fallacies applied with heavy gaslighting. They are a loose sand repair to a damaged faith foundation.

This is amazing, a episode every few hours, I'm finding it hard to keep up 😀

From the moment Gordon B. Hinkley declared on Larry King Line that the Mormon Church does not believe in the tradition Jesus of the early Christian period it begs the question, once a Mormon dies, where does his soul go? Since the early Christian tradition is predicated upon hundreds of years of research can be believed as factual evidence supporting the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus. The Mormon Jesus is a concoction that was formulated in the mind of a deluded man. Read Galatians 1:8 and 9. Prove this wrong.

More red herrings and fake news ..... Coe was a Mayanologist never studied the Native American peoples of the North East part of the US where the Book of Mormon history took place. Garbage in Garbage out.

OH MY GOSH. I never thought I would relate to John so much until now. Min 22 with him talking about the dynamic of how he has invested in so many people, then they go on to their other stuff and end up becoming antagonistic towards him....dude. I was in an internet space and became a "leader" gag. I did not want to be, but people seemed to really want to make me one. I left because of weird dynamics like that (and because it was SOOOO much on me and my family energy and time wise with no pay), but oh man! This is eye opening and relatable to hear him going through this. It makes me wonder...
