Raby Castle Sunrise #rabycastle #countydurham #castle
Raby Castle (grid reference NZ12912177) is a medieval castle located near Staindrop in County Durham, England, among 200 acres (810,000 m2) of deer park.[1] It was built by John Neville, 3rd Baron Neville de Raby, between approximately 1367 and 1390. Cecily Neville, the mother of the Kings Edward IV and Richard III, was born here. After Charles Neville, 6th Earl of Westmorland, led the failed Rising of the North in favour of Mary, Queen of Scots in 1569 Raby Castle was taken into royal custody. Sir Henry Vane the Elder purchased Raby Castle in 1626 and neighbouring Barnard Castle from the Crown, and the Earls of Darlington and Dukes of Cleveland added a Gothic-style entrance hall and octagonal drawing room.[2] From 1833 to 1891 they were the Dukes of Cleveland and they retain the title of Lord Barnard. Extensive alterations were carried out in the 17th and 18th centuries.[3] It is famed for both its size and its art, including works by old masters and portraits.[4] After 1733 it was frequented from his young age of eleven by the poet Christopher Smart, who eloped briefly at the age of thirteen with Anne Vane, daughter of Henry Vane, who succeeded to the Barnard title. It is a Grade I listed building and open to the public on a seasonal basis.
The castle is still a private home and remains the seat of the Vane family, the Barons Barnard.[5] The 11th Baron carried out an extensive programme of renovation and restoration after inheriting the barony in 1964.[6]

The Tees Barrage is a barrage and road bridge across the River Tees, Northern England, just upriver of Blue House Point and is used to control the flow of the river, preventing flooding and the effects of tidal change. It is between the towns of Stockton-on-Tees and Thornaby, road access is only by the latter with limited road access to the Tees's north bank. The Tees Barrage comprises a river ...

Amazing aerial images of Raby Castle🤩 Well done
@@FromAboveStudio thank you 🙂👍🏻
Nice video Andy. I like the shot at 01:17 where you fly over the castle following the water line.
Thanks Mick 👍🏻, had to be up and out of bed early for this one 🙂
@@AMDronephotography I bet. Glad you did, it's a good video mate.
Stunning video, great smooth flying and the music really goes
@@KFDrones thank you, I really appreciate that, thanks for watching 🙂👍🏻
great video and smooth flying, Tudor style music fits perfectly
@@Clearviewdroneshots Thank you, thought it needed some regal music 🙂
Fantastic beauty filming mate. Coooool. Thank you 🤙💯🎶❤️

Very cool castle 👊😊 thanks for sharing 😊🙏
Thank you, much appreciated, and thanks for watching 🙂👍🏻
Magnificent castle , captured really well to JS Bach. What's not to like. Smooth flying mate. Even the swallows joined in.
Cheers Mickey 👍🏻 I thought a bit of classical was the way forward with this setting. Well worth the early start 🙂
Such a beautiful castle and lovely area. You captured it so well with your drone. Nice smooth flights and great video, Andy. 🤘👍
@@hdi4eva-castlesbydrone531 thanks Michael, that’s much appreciated 🙂
Great video./ Looks an awesome place.
@@SimonsDroneChannel Cheers! 👍🏻 it’s beautiful, makes a change to see one not in ruins 🙂
@@AMDronephotography it sure is.
Andy you must have been up before the cock crowd, it's awesome in this light, no one around to give you grief, it has to be one of the finest castles in the UK, this is a superb flight miles better than mine, this should go on the show. 👏👏👏👍
@@Steve53 thanks mate, yeah left Redcar about 04:20. Knew it was going to be a clear morning with the possibility of a bit of mist. The castle appears to glow when the morning sun hits it. I really enjoyed your footage, and narration. Different times of the day give different light on it. Would love to visit again if there’s snow on the ground. 👍🏻
@@AMDronephotography yeah that would be awesome 👍
Spectacular footage 👌This is on my to-do list ❤Wonderful fligh. Marvellous sun rise and light
@@ladyintheskyuk thank you 🙂 It’s been on my to do list for a while, and not done a sunrise in yonks. Look forward to seeing your footage when you tick it off your list.

Great video. That is a big ship.
Thanks Simon, it is big, and not something that you normally see so close to shore.
Nice smooth drone shots of this cool cable laying vessel at work and great video production, Andy. 👏👍
@@hdi4eva-castlesbydrone531 Thanks Michael, glad I filmed this when I did. It’s moved further along the coast and further out to sea now. 🙂👍🏻

Fabulous flight. Beautifully captured 👌

Well that's just great I missed that one Andy 😁, glad you captured it, really smooth flight catching all the angles of the NKT Victoria, is it still there or has it moved on🤔👍😎
Cheers Steve, I only saw it because from Redcar it looked like it was almost on the beach. Saw it tonight, looks quite far out between Skinningrove and Staithes.
Just added to the show on the 11th September if that’s okay
That’s great, thanks Tony, much appreciated. Regards Andy 👍🏻🙂
They are amazing pieces of kit Andy, when you see them up close with the drone the footage is great, i see it was close to home with your flight nice one Andy. 👏👍😎.
@@Steve53 cheers Steve, I already had the footage of the bailing and I knew Grewgrass Farm near Redcar was due a visit from the combine. I just happened to be passing on Sunday and had the drone with me, which was a stroke of luck. 🙂👍🏻

Beautiful, my dad used to work as an engineer in the largest steel plant in Romania before ArcelorMittal bought everything. Thanks to our corrupt politician, we are now dependent of China and India..
@@amdPeek I think it’s very shortsighted to close these strategic industries and rely on China to supply. We are getting an electric arc furnace as they are deemed to be the green solution to steel production, time will tell I suppose. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Lovely video and narration 👍
Thank you , I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video 🙂
Bloody hell Andy blooming brilliant, you made the barrage look awesome, so smooth great control, when you look at the Tees barrage it's a great looking piece of architecture, I've wanted to capture slalom canoeists doing the whitewater course, maybe one day, that track was perfect. 👏👏😎👍
Cheers Steve, that’s much appreciated. Wanted to do the barrage for a while, can’t think why it’s taken this long. Probably just wanted to catch it like you said, with the white water course in use. Guess that’s going to be another video 🙂👍🏻
Hi Andy this is a place i know quite well, we had a caravan just down the road, very interesting facts of the village, some of the houses near to the river are spectacular, thanks for sharing your video and your great narrating facts.👏👏👍.
@@Steve53 it’s a lovely village Steve. I could see some of them big houses on the green and when I got the drone up, I could see the back of them real millionaires properties there I was actually out looking for combine harvesters.
@@AMDronephotography Andy there are a lot of fields between Middleton St George and Neasham on Neasham Rd.
@Steve53 might just go and have a word with the farmer down the road and ask when he’s going to get his field done instead of driving around. I’ve got part of the footage I wanted. A farm just the other side of Great Ayton, they were bailing up the hay with a special machine and stacking it on trailers. When I looked closely at the footage yesterday I noticed all the hares running out of the hay as the tractor was coming.
Great video.
@@SimonsDroneChannel thank you Simon, much appreciated 👍🏻
@@AMDronephotography any time.
Some of that is still there.
Which ones?
@@Nervejam Kirkleatham Hall was demolished in the 1950’s. Kirkleatham School was renovated and opened as a museum in the early 1980’s as Kirkleatham old hall. What other buildings are still there in the video?
That's a great bridge there Andy - I'll bet it looks less so from ground level, but from up here, it's a grand design around the barrage.
@@starshipwonaprize-dronevideos Thanks Paul, yes it’s pretty impressive and its construction helped transform that stretch of the River Tees from an industrial wasteland into a place that enjoyable. Some scenes in the film 1917 were filmed in the white water course.

I started on Charlie before she started producing, it pumped oil from all other 3 Brent’s to Cormorant and then to Sullom Voe. I was taking readings at export pumps, (gas turbine driven) and per hour the value was in £millions. The amount of gas separated from the oil was huge. At peak Brent field produced 17% of uk gas needs. The gas compressor pumping gas to St. Fergus had a 12,000hp electric motor. In the summer the gas was injected back into the reservoir.
Where’s the Derrick ?
Lifted off, maybe before platform got moved off legs
Wow Andy i would have liked a piece of that, what an iconic part of history very nice flight so smooth.👍👍.
Cheers Steve, gutted I never caught it coming into the Tees, glad I caught it before they moved it next to the Nuclear Power Station though. 🙂👍🏻

What a behemoth! I can't imagine steering that down the Tee!
@@starshipwonaprize-dronevideos they’ve moved it across the Tees into Able UK’s yard ready to slide onto their platform. Glad I caught it when I did, as I missed it coming in to the Tees and now it’s in Able’s yard right next door to Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station and obviously a no go zone.
