What is Contract Labour Act?
The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, is a landmark legislation in India aimed at regulating the employment of contract labor and providing for its abolition in certain circumstances.
The Act seeks to ensure the welfare and rights of workers employed on a contract basis in various industries.
Objectives of Contract Labour Act:
The primary objectives of the Contract Labour Act are:
To regulate the employment of contract labor in various establishments.
To provide for the abolition of contract labor in certain circumstances.
To safeguard the interests of contract workers by ensuring their rights and welfare.
To create a framework for the registration and regulation of contractors and employers.
Key Definitions of Contract Labour Act:
Contract Labour: Workers who are hired by a contractor to perform work for an establishment but are not directly employed by the establishment.
Establishment: Any place where business is conducted, including factories, offices, and workshops.
Contractor: A person who undertakes to supply contract labor for an establishment.

Dear Ajith, EPF is a Government Portal. So, all government portals works efficiently on Internet Explorer only. So, use only Internet Explorer or else Mozilla, Chrome will not work effectively....

Hi, is it possible to do online joint declaration filing with my previous employer? I need to change my father's name. While doing joint declaration online, if I select my current employer some error is popping out but at the same time if I select my previous employer it accepts for next step. Also for changing fathers name, is my father Aadhaar is enough? Please help here.
Dear Siva, Yes, you can get approved by anyone, but you need to have good contact, and good relationship with the employer, who can respond to you whenever required. It depends upon the number of documents asked while Joint Declaration Form, like Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, 10th Standard Certificate, keep it ready, whatever asked, upload them....

Is gratuity not applicable if an employee completes more than 4 years 6 months and less than 5 years?
Dear Sandeep, As per the Gratuity Act, it is mandatory to complete 5 years. But in some company depending upon on the company policies, and management decisions, even 4.6 years is also considered as eligibility for Gratuity....

Dear Ganesh, Actually the PF Office cannot activate or change your name. And you cannot change your name, as your UAN is not active. So, first you need to change your name with the help of your Employer, then you can active your UAN, which is explain in this video.
Sir i am an employer and one of employee filed a joint declaration request to change his father name from the member portal. So for the approval, i have uploaded his pan card. Is that enough or should i also submit his appointment letter?
Dear Nihal, When you approve the details in the portal, the portal itself will display the list of documents to be uploaded, accordingly you need to upload, and approve the same. For any clarifications, please let me know....
Hi @hrtutorialsindia My joint declaration request to change my date of joining and exit is in pending status at Bandra pf office for the past six months. The request is already approved by my employer. Is there any way to speed things up?
Dear Priyanka, Better you take a print out of the screenshot, that your employer has approved it, and still pending from Fiend Office since last six months, and write a letter to the PF Field Officer, and visit the branch, and talk to the Grievance Cell in PF Office, they will resolve the issue....
Or it has been replaced by the Occupational safety and health code 2020
Occupational Health & Safety is different, which will be made very soon....

Hello, thank you for this video. The last time filed my taxes was in 2018-2019, but worked my job till 2021, I moved abroad after 2019 so I missed my taxes due to other complications. Do I need to file my taxes before applying for my PF? Hi in my salary structure the bonus/statutory bonus is mentioned in the fixed pay. But my basic salary is more than 21000 so I am not eligible for that. Will I still get that statutory bonus as it is mentioned in fixed pay.

I got the offer letter from one company I didn't even joined the company but yhe company has updated my date of joining and date of exit but now that company is closed so In the next year I got some other job worked for three years the issue is date of ending is collapsing with the first company due to this reason I lost my job please help me to correct the Date of ending of the first company
Dear Manoj, You can approach the EPF Office for change of EPF Joining & Exit Date or else, you can make changes to the date of joining and exit, and ask your employer to approve it. These are the only 2 options you have.

Dear Yeswanth, Yes, you can copy from November to December, but you need to increase the days to 31, because in December its 31 days. And also you need to check the days like, which date come on 1st of Dec, and accordingly the days should be arranged as per dates.

Hi, My CTC was 7 LPA. I've declared my income in 2024. But deducted TDS is zero. I've not paid any tax during this period. My question now is .. I've left my previous org in july 1st 2024. Till june I've received my salary along with 60k paid leave contribution as well. I'm jobless since july and I've already withdrawn employee contribution this financial year only and I'm applying for complete settlement of PF amount which is 90k. Now do I need to fill form 15G.
Dear Cool, As you are out of job, and you have earned only 60K till July'2024, and your PF Amount is 90K. So, in total the amount is 150K, so you are not required to fill Form-15G.

Dear Deepak, Each company has their own pattern of CTC Breakup. If you have any doubts, you have every right to approach your HR. Or else you will get the details breakup of your salary in your Monthly Payslip. If you do not understand, then you can approach your HR for help in explaining the salary break-up, and its their duty as well....
