After riots in L8 planted trees were scattered around to hide the scars of yesterday 🤷🙆🫶
5.37 ....I remember her breaking the lockdown with a protest in support of a junkie who died of a heart while being restrained in the US in 2020....here she is now defending a known criminal who couldnt just get out of the car with his hands above his head. Marxism, it rots your brain. Meanwhile, where were the riots over Kris Donald , who was kicked to death by a gang of Asian men in Glasgow in 2006 for being white? How about the riots over 40 years of young white girls being groomed by Pakistani men in places like Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, Oldham ? Why does one group of people always feel entitled to burn and loot ?
I am a white guy , and lived in Toxteth in 1981 i was stunned by the racism in Toxteth, if a crime was committed then the police assumed it was a black person that did the crime, not white a policeman actually said to me a crime was committed it was a black guy did it, but they hadn't been seen. I totally understand why the riots happened, they where worrying I lived only about 100yards down a road from the riot, but it was needed to stop the racism.
I moved to Toxteth in 1980, and there was an obvious racism from the police for people with dark skins. I had the police knocking on my door ,then ,they saw i was white they just turned and left, police where arresting people with no evidence .It was disgusting. i was there through the riots it was scary but justified.
Rest in Peace Leroy ✊🏽

ya come a long way sins cookery classes in arundel comp and we were the only groope of lads that had a class in stanly park all girls school a long time back a leroy
Has anything changed?????
... THIS WAS NO RIOT, COPS WAS GOING AGAINST THE CITIZENS. ... CITIZENS MODE: DEFENSE. ... COPS GOT THEIR ASS KICKED.
am white ,born in Granby 66 ,it was a amazing place ,a pool of life ! , nowhere else in the world like L8 , i remember the police , my black, brown, Chinese ,Indian, mates getting shit off the plod ,calling me names as well . wretched souls ,come again .
i lived over a shop on Lodge Lane in 81 ,JOHNS FOOD STORE. Bizzies made life unbearable at times for the young Afro caribbean lads,
The trouble with short documentaries is by their very duration, they can lack substance and depth. There were some interesting perspectives given here, so it was worthwhile from that perspective. However such a production could only be used as an introduction to the subject at hand, so again in that respect, was worthwhile.
There have been other immigrant communities who have faced racism and prejudice coming to the UK,jews,Indians,Pakistanis etc...they didn’t riot or complain that no one was giving them things...they got on with their lives
What breathtakingly ignorant point are you making?
@@dylanblue2271 Well unless you are breathtaking ignorant, you will find that all other immigrant minorities who come to the UK, largely impoverished, get on with their lives and prosper, they don't blame other people, riot and then expect things to be done for them.
We had strength to resist, them lot were too scared to rebel against the system.
I was born on princes avenue 1950 left there 1971/72 the police were always taking the piss from day 1 from the whiteand black community fact l am white and l think most working class or impoverished areas where police took the piss false arrests etc planting weed beatings etc bizzies picked on the wrong area and got their arse well and truly spanked HahHah
The Toxteth riot started because too many cop vans showed up for a dude on a alleged stolen bike ???? Really ???
Well if you went to Toxteth you would be darn lucky to ride away - 20 s flat in an OUT .
Sad time for the City, in fact SHOCKING times, city on its knees jobs wise, shocking Housing, Docks gone, Decaying Sea Port, Margaret Simmy, Rex Makin helped alot of people out.
Amazing job on the story and colorgrading!! 🙌🏼
Thx man!

Planted trees scattered round to hide the scars of yesterday 🤟
Riots help nothing at all for no one ( ;
A white lad couldn't walk down Granby in the 80s 90s
that's not true. plenty of white lads lived in L8 at that time. Perhaps if you were not known you may of been approached, however the same could of been said for anybody of any race who wasn't a local. the Granby community has always been mixed
@@dbradyonline Yes plenty of whites lived in L8, I'm talking about Granby street, if a white lad not known would get approached, not right though for that to happen.
@@spudhead1161 colour was irrelevant, it was about who you knew
@@dbradyonline Colour was relevant.
@@spudhead1161 you said a white lad couldn't walk down granby in the 90's, do think a black lad would of been able to walk freely around Scottie Road, Vauxhall, anfield, walton, broadway , huyton, dovecot, speke etc... without being bothered about their race?
and still a shit hole today. haha
born and lived on smithdown rd glad i moved out in 86. nice childhood memories but went downhill after the riots. sorry
A brilliant documentary. Huge respect to the Toxteth community. I hope the community is stronger today and that the area is getting better for you. You are people to look up too.
*to
spoiler! no its still a shithole
Liverpool 8 What A Great Community We Had... No Matter what Nationality. Religion. David More Not Forgotten... Still No Change in Liverpool 8

Ivan stole money from the carnival fund around 87/88. He's not respected in L8 in any shape or form
I’m white lived top of Earle road , the police didn’t give a fuck if you was black or white, you where getting it , government answer smack, I think Leroy got addicted to pies and cake,😎🤫

Shame about the underhand smear tactics and all expenses trips to SA at tax payers expense. Last I heard, there was an investigation going on by the charity commission
I saw your work ages ago in Keith's Wine Bar & took some photos; it's always in my head. Powerful on every level.
