Great discussion. People underestimate or just don't realize the vital role of the 911 call takers and radio dispatchers during incidents like these.
100% agree!
Absolutely enjoy listening from genuine dispatchers who enjoy sharing their personal experiences of a critical Incidents they handled! I share the same physiological response to stress with Quenton.😊

What an amazing company! Check them out thinbluelinefishingllc.com/ Thank you for your service, Ernesto.
An amazing job by Keith on a very tough situation! Great job KT putting this together.
Thank you so very much, CB.
God Bless you Keith! I was impressed years ago when I first heard this audio. You humanized the profession. Like you said it may not have been what you are used to hearing, but you used your training, showed your humanity and gave those officers what they needed. Hats off to you Sir! Thank you Kim for this interview and allowing us to hear Keith’s story and put a face to a voice.
@@dispatcher2051 Thank you for listening, for your comments and for your service. 💛
I invite all my CTO's to comment. Let's have a discussion.
I’ll comment. This guy is fraud. He lies about everything he tries to take credit for anything he can he’s an opportunistic parasite. Years later still exploiting a dead cop as he used that incident to try to achieve a platform for himself and only himself. In Chicago dispatchers deal with line of duty deaths and they don’t make a circus out of it. They don’t milk the incident and exploit it. There isn’t one Chicago cop who likes this guy in fact they have choice words and phrases about him.
This is not a critique, but a valuable training moment. Join the discussion on the full video on my channel
Finally, the dispatcher realized what was going on.
Are you in danger
If she was being kidnapped, why is her kidnapper letting her use the phone? It's obvious who she's on the phone with.
doesn't make sense to me. That call sounded exactly like a girl calling for help, she may as well came right out and say im kidnapped an sitting next to the guy.
You can teach her quick code like to have her answer start with the letter of her real answer. For example stsrt your sentence with the first letter of the color of the car you travelling in
May not be time for night class
I would ask, would you like fries with that?
Do you want to live ?
Is it a Ford? No Is it a Chevy? Yes Is it black? No Is it red? Yes
What color is the truck?
What the color of the car 🚗 ?
Start naming colors.
As a non dispatcher (and non emergency service in general), this was a great break down, Thank you
Super glad you enjoyed it!
So uh no one is gonna point out that kidnappers don't let their victim use a phone unless it's to call for ransom let alone tell them where they are going...
Not true
Messi or Ronaldo?
Neither …
Do you know mile marker
Who is your favourite Actor?.
Great question, to keep the conversation natural-sounding
Can you stay on the line and pretend the call dropped? I will send someone to your location.
Ooooh that’s good
@KimTurnerLLC 😊 .. Only if it works! But then again I imagine they'd have to be quick thinking and ready to adapt. Much respect to anyone who works a job like that 👏
@@NotNateDiaZ NotNateDiaz as in That's Not Danny Diaz one of the best lines ever.
Do they have a weapon?
I think i would ask “can you tell me your destination? Are you driving out of state? Somewhere local? This is coming from someone who doesn’t know anything about dispatch but just what I thought of!
I know, I was saying, hey, that's Lance! I think I helped train him. We have had a few go there for 911 or sworn I think.
Right! He's a good dude
Such great information here
Thank you, kindly
Hey Kim, Subscribed, ret. Larry W. from SJ....thanks for all you do, you helped SJPD CTO program to "cool down" and refocus when we were overwhelmed.

amazing episode
Great episode, and I completely agree about Chic Fil A never going to AI!!!
Right!
She should have said her mom was trans, I bet they would have sent an ambulance real fast.
Is homegirl out of breath just talking? I hear gasping for air.
Kim Turner my first time watching and it was amazing🥇 loved it
Thank you!
Yes ma'am... I love watching someone who can tell a story or have a conversation with out cussing every other word.. you are an amazing woman I can tell
Great example to demonstrate dispatch priming AND Ken's experience and application to officer priming were truly, in fact, gems.
This is crazy !!! I used 911 three times , while caring for my elderly relatives . All of them living in NJ . Each time , the local police showed up before the ambulance . I believed ( up until now ) that this was standard procedure . The police showing up to assist , seems logical . I'm shocked that an " emergency " dispatcher would even suggest that someone should " call back " . 🙃
Probably me being jaded, self serving, but in my jobs? I'm not paid the Big Bucks. That's Administrators' world. As a Dispatcher, I'm paid to: Dispatch---not advise, not 2nd guess, not have opinions. Dispatch Help. Whatever the VERY abstract or solid reasons are, when push comes to shove?? You are on your own. ALL you have is what YOU did in a Scenario. DISPATCHER: Did you DISPATCH?? Y or N. Nobody is going to care Facts of why or why not, policy, practices, shortages, overtime, exhaustion, burn out. DID YOU DISPATCH? Period. CLEARLY, me, I'm thinking: No cell service? No help? DRIVE YOUR SORRY CARCASS, HAND ON HORN HONKING FOR HELL TO HEAR, TIL HELP OR CELL PHONE TOWER OR GAS STA, Dumb*ss, THAT YELLOW IS JAUNDICE, THAT'S YOUR M-O-M. MOVE IT! (Dang.)
Hey Kim, listening to your thoughts on these topics is just like talking to my cool neighbor. Common sense with a smooth voice. Thanks Cool Mama! 😎🤙🏼
Anytime I called 911 for my elderly parents , them giving permission was never asked of me. they always showed up. I don’t understand why the dispatcher turned it into , if your mother gives permission then we can take a look at the situation ? Please educate me. I know you have to give permission, but again I’ve never been asked if my parents are giving permission. In my case and I’m in Texas.
First and foremost you error on the side of caution. It is better to send resource than to recieve negative outcome. And if it was your mother?! The dispatcher is not medically trained and it is not his call. Let the medical professional use their judgement in medical crisis. Better to be proactive than nonactive.
I stopped your video @5:34. "The call" means IT IS A EMERGENCY!!!!!!! No judgment, no decisions--GO! No elaborate verbage on a video--GO! Dispatchers have a job; Call-Dispatch. Dispatcher- Dispatch- yes -------------"dispatcher-decision-NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Okay that's a crappy person, but you had cars loaded up in a car and drive her to the hospital. Fired yes charged with involuntary manslaughter that's ridiculous.
Yes, the dispacher should have sent at least a pubic servant to meet the daughter. The no cell service was a poor excuse by the family.
Wow, thought you were a racist until I looked at the screen....
Defund 911 they don’t help
These 911 humans drop calls all the time they don’t are if you get help or not nicety people
It seems to me the dispatch might have had prior dealings with the woman and there might be a question of her refusing service before. "Will she even get in the ambulance" seems like a legitimate question. Sorry the woman died but some people are their own worst enemy.
The dispatcher seems to know the woman had a history of refusing service. Why did the daughter not drive back into a zone with cell service to call 911 back? I would like to see an FOI request for the mothers history with local paramedics.
How did she know her mother's condition if she hadn't been there? More than one person is at fault for this.
If I seen my mom struggling I wouldn’t want to leave her just to find cell service.
Career 20 + years ff in PA here. when we get dispatched they NEVER give any info besides address and nature of incident and pertinent info ( history of heart attack , small children involved , fire coming out of roof etc ) . So no frequent flier comments ( we would know that anyways) no they sound like they are faking it no they were rude to me on 911 call so don’t hurry no snarky comments . Just bare facts . The 911 operator was clearly wrong, the family not taking any responsibility is complete bs. You couldn’t keep calling? you couldn’t get her in a car and take her to hospital ? They are all crying and screaming now but I would hope my family would take action when I needed it most . They all can’t have the iq of a gnat and the moral compass of Lauren boebert. Be proactive! Be an adult!
She Is yellow 3 days I say yes go to jail your job is to pick up call Say how do I direct you cop , fire or medical your job isn't the tax money funds. Just answer the call and send in the unit. Go to jail
