Yes and no. It's a keyup mod that essentially starts your transmission 5 or so khz off frequency and smoothly shifts it back to the center of the channelized frequency. What it's really good for is when you are DXing. That tone wave comes through the carrier signals of others talking and makes for a great attention getter to help listeners tune their attention to your transmission even if others are stronger. It essentially helps you make contact easier. At least it does for me.

Being an asshole for 27 years I find that the Roger beep serves a major purpose on 10m dx, especially when their audio fades in and out, to help signify the end of their transmission.

I haven't been a ham for quite that long but, as a ham for 13 years, I'd be all set to transmit there although I wouldn't as I trust the components of this Galaxy wouldn't handle long transmissions being that far out of it's realm. This was just a demo of where the DDS-VFO can allow a CB to go.

its not a problem if your neighbor has a ham license .

I had mine done by Troy Radio Service (www.ddsvfo.com). You can either have them install it or buy the proper kits to install yourself or by your local technician.

At the time I had mine done, toward the beginning of the year, it was $150 to have Troy Radio Service do it all. Looks like it's now $175 as of this reply. Go to www.ddsvfo.com to see the current prices.

Mine was done by Troy Radio Service (www.troyradio.net) out of Texas. I'd suggest contacting them or look up and inquire at CB shops that deal with hi-fi audio. Good luck.

For my job I have to grab stock from a warehouse we have in Auburn once a week to once every other week. Do you monitor 2, 12, 28, or 40? Last I was made aware, these are the channels most used toward your direction.
