1. Transfusion
2. Final Solution
3. Muckraker
4. Frustration
5. Seventeen
6. 30 Seconds Over Tokyo
7. Down In Flames
8. Search & Destroy
Rocket From The Tombs is:
David Thomas - vocals
Peter Laughner - guitar, vocals
Craig Bell - bass, vocals
Gene O'Connor - guitar
Don Evans - drums
This is a recording of Rocket From the Tombs Show at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio on May 5, 1975. This was one of the only recordings of the band that was known about and heavily bootlegged until the release of The Day the Earth Met the Rocket from the Tombs. This show was done with WMMS 101 FM and was called the Heavy Metal Showcase. 5 of the songs were professionally recorded. Tracks 4, 7 and 8 were likely 3 of the 5 tracks professionally recorded. It’s unclear if all of the show was broadcasted on WMMS but at least tracks 7 and 8 were broadcasted on May 11, 1975. This show marks the earliest if not the first live performance of the song Final Solution. This show would also mark the first and only performance Don Evans would do with the band. Evans had only joined the band about a week prior to this show. This recording was made up from 3 separate copies of this show. The image of the cassette tape is of Craig Bell's personal copy of this show. Tracks 4, 7, and 8 (only the first half) would officially be released on The Day the Earth Met the Rocket from the Tombs.

The Hi Fis EP

This was a CD that The Hi-Fis released in the late 90s or early 2000s. It contains demos they made back in the day. These songs were also available for download from the old Hi-Fis website that unfortunately does not seem to be up anymore. Unfortunately, my copy does not have the cover for this release. Put on your dancing shoes and have fun! Track list: 1. Animal Noises 2. Can't Let Go 3. Hurt...

With the unfortunate passing of Chuck Keith and the Great Denny Coyle I wanted to post the only way I knew the Hi-Fis for most of my life. Their WMMS Coffee Break concerts they did in the early 80s. The image is from the old Hi-Fis website that unfortunately does not seem to be up anymore or at least the page this came from isn’t up. If you know when this concert took place and the titles of th...

Thank you so much for uploading this. I couldn’t find this anyplace online previously! I asked a guy on Twitter who was all about Cleveland punk music and he directed me to the old links that no longer worked. What a surprise!
Thank you!!
Also there are from '75, the WMMS 101 FM radio show might be the same as the ones on The Night the Earth Met the Rocket From the Crypt...I can't add photos here.

Rocket From The Tombs Complete Recordings 1974 - 1975 1. Rocket From The Tombs “Viking Saloon Live Tape” 12/22/1974 Special Extermination Music Night (With The Mirrors & electric eels) 2. Rocket From The Tombs “Rehearsal Loft Demo Tape” 02/18/1975 & “WMMS 101FM Broadcast Tape”02/23/1975 3. Rocket From The Tombs “The Agora Live Tape” 05/05/1975 Heavy Metal Showcase (With Iron Butterfly) 4. Rocket From The Tombs “Piccadilly Inn Live Tape” 07/24/1975 (With Television) Thank you for uploading RFTT WMMS FM101 Broadcast!!
@@jarrettgardner0628 I do have a recording of the May 5, 1975 show. It was also broadcasted on WMMS as part of there live at the Agora series. It was called a Night of Heavy Music. I actually have two version of the show but one is heavily edited, and the sound quality of the other is not very good. Also some of the audio does not line up between the two recording. I was going to try and combine the two recording to get the best of both, but I haven’t had the time to work on it. There is a recording of their show on February 10, 1975 at the Agora. Not sure if all of it was recorded or what but on the fantastic Peter Laughter Box Set that smog veil released has a recoding of ain’t it fun from this show on disc 4. The Pere ubu box set Datapanik in The Year Zero has Amphetamine from summer 1975 (likely the July 24, 1975 show. It’s also a little longer than the one on The Day The Earth Met) and 30 Seconds Over Tokyo from June of 1975 (not sure what show. The booklet says it was a heavy showcase. So it might have been from the May 5, 1975 show). They can be found of the Terminal Drive disc. This box set was the first time that any records of Rocket From The Tombs was officially released. Number 1 from your list is up on my channel.
THANK YOU so much for unleashing this long lost buried treasure to the world on da UA-cam!! I have often dreamed of what the entire Rocket From The Tombs rehearsal loft tape sounded like for years!! The Rocket From The Tombs amazing sound captured on that particular night in their modest rehearsal loft has always struck me as serendipitous aural magic that has completely stood the test of time!! Had these songs been properly recorded in recording studio back in 1975 for a proper studio album… That RFTT album would be acknowledged as one of the greatest proto punk albums of all time!! As it stands I am so grateful that RFTT didn’t have to deal with any record label meddling in attempt to come up with something for Top 40 radio by completely neutering the sheer sonic destruction cacophony this band was capable of creating all on their own!! However I do wish RFTT would have stuck around a little longer and recorded their very own DIY self funded studio album and released a couple DIY 1975 singles back in the day similar to the first 2 Pere Ubu studio singles recorded and released in late 1975 & early 1976 shortly after RFTT broke up in August 1975… Oh what could have been… But I am so grateful this amazing tape still exists and has finally been saved from the sonic ether for the following generations to discover!! Rocket From The Tombs 12 Song Demo Tape Recorded on analog 2 track reel-to-reel tape machine, Sunn 6-channel audio mixing console, a few microphones, reverb FX unit, & public address system recording setup @ RFTT Rehearsal Studio Loft West 4th Street Cleveland, Ohio February 18th, 1975 & broadcast on WMMS FM101 Radio Station Cleveland, Ohio February 23rd, 1975
60's to mid 70's was the best music...it was new, new, new, can you imagine if the invitations of today were available back then? What sounds could have been invented!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing!! Sounds great!! Any chance you could upload Rocket From The Tombs The Agora May 5th, 1975 Thank you!!
