This was a great video! I just wanted to say that you should absolutely feel confident in compare your works to other books, even if they're super popular. Publishers and agents want to see that confidence from you and they LOVE having a starting point of reference for comparison. Query letters that fall flat are the ones that say their books aren't like anything else. That's not actually great, because often readers want books that are similar to things they've already read. After all, when you look for new book recs as a reader, you start by telling people which books / authors you've previously enjoyed. It's been a couple of years since I worked in publishing and read query letters for my day job, but this is all still true today. Hope it helps! <3

I just finished the first chapter of my own novel last night, been thinking about writing a book for the first time and finally decided to just give it a shot and sat down and knocked out the entire first chapter in 1 sitting, 3,199 words. It felt so good to see the words on the page! I look forward to hopefully getting the chance to read your book someday!
