Just be careful when pulling out the filter compartment, the rubber grommets that hold it down might pop out. They're easy to put back in though.

Because they reuse the same parts as other cars, in order for the ford GT to not cost an arm and a leg when something needs to be replaced they put the same button in another car so its mass produced

I had a Chevy with locks in the same spot. Always used the fob, took forever to find the button to let a friend in passenger side while car was running and fob was in my pocket.

Ford's goal is to make it so you have to take your car to an authorized repair garage for even the smallest repairs. They will over complicate everything and everything requires a special tool.

It's a German thing bmw has done the central door lock for years. But motor wise... don't mess with them 3-4 rice cookers... too many countries for 1 car
