Robotman & Friends: I Wanna Be Your Robotman Part 1
Переглядів 11 тис.14 років тому
As far as I can tell, this is apparently the first Robotman & Friends episode, but with the videos so vaguely named it's sort of a mystery to me...anyways, enjoy!
I'm gonna say it. The (original) Australian intro is better.
things really went downhill🤔
This was also a toy
Used to love this show
2024 & We all are still in dystopia
The Discovery Channel had soooooooooo many cool original shows back in the day. I remember watching this show and so many more awesome programs; MOVIE MAGIC, SECRETS OF THE DEEP, FANGS, BEYOND BIZARRE, etc. I really miss the old days of the Discovery Channel. Hell, I even miss the old Discovery Channel theme song back then. I think the last time I enjoyed watching the Discovery Channel was when DIRTY JOBS and MYTHBUSTERS were on the air, and that was quite some time ago.
I love this show. I remember watching it back in the 80's. Interestingly enough probably one of the best demonstration of future technology in the show is just the computer generated imagery in the opening of the show. The opening of this show is absolute genius in every respect. Oddly enough the American version with Henry Tanenbaum was the best one, the british stuff was much cruder.
Reminds me when I used to watch this in Spanish called "Más allá del futuro" :)
When science and technology was cool!
Dad and I would watch this. The future seemed so awsome then. How wrong I was
I remember the day when I use to watch this sitcom and it was awesome how each of them made Robotman battling against aliens intergalactic war to save the humans. And the world. And how humans were afraid of them but later befriend them and they saved the world. Each part powered up weapons and randomly chosen humans to make the ship. And all unlocked one powerful war machine.
Transformers meets care bears
I loved this show, I also enjoyed the magazines, Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. Awesome show.
Well, here we are in the future, humanity needs to be told not to eat Tide pods.
There was a smoke in the window of the Class Room! [Erasers Panting]
I got many flashbacks of the theme music.
I haven't seen this since I was a kid! No wonder I grew up loving robots. Thank you so much for sharing this, it's so nice to see it again.
Hmmm ... memories...😢
Omg that opening theme brings back such good memories!
so right away this has nothing to do with Jim Meddick's creation, he's not even on the strip anymore the main character nowadays is Monty
RIP Peter Shelley. He was behind this song.
When the villain is a landlord.
“In the year two-thousaaaaaaannd!” Sorry 🤷🏻♂️
This is surreal. I have extremely dim memories of watching this almost 40 years ago. But one of the VERY few things I remember is the villain having a low, raspy voice. This is neither of those but I'm sure it's the same show! Was the villain ever recast?
People back then are so optimistic, until the 911 and SARS pandemic hit the news headline.
I've been looking for any source/information on this for years after only seeing it briefly as a small kid in the early 80s. Despite the obvious name, I couldn't find any info on this. Why, I even went though old Sears catalogues just to try and find a name, to no avail. As I'm writing this, at 1:38 that song alone has popped into my head for decades without remembering it's source. I can't believe it's from this show! Certainly a two-for-one this find is.
I'm the original uploader of this and hearing about everyone's distinct and different memories of this cartoon means a lot to me! I'm glad you were able to find it, over the years I've learned that some folks saw it on TV once, some on video, one friend saw it on satellite TV in Iran in the late 90s... the music left a lasting impression on me as well, I guess that's why I still come back to check the comments people leave 26 years after I first rented the video from a funky little rental place in Burbank.
This brings me right back to being a kid, good memories of hearing that host, the preview then the intro…
This is the stunt double. Discovery just didn't like Australian hosts. (WE created it.)
Wait...there was a rebranded AMERICAN version of this show? BEYOND 2000 is an Australian show and was started in the 1980's, I'm amazed I didn't know that there was an American re-edit of it! I guess it makes sense since Discovery later went on to commission MYTHBUSTERS from the same Australian company. But wow this is all new information for me!
Hey, mate! we also created new content and original studio material.
@@HenryTen Noice!! Hope the regionalization versions led to big sales for the show! I grew up on the Aussie original!
I loved this show as a kid. It made me so exited for the future. Now the future is here and its soooo disappointing...
The robots after 1:19, some look like the ones of the 21st century and animatronics
Anyone know where one could find episodes from this show. Maybe some kind of archive or something
Bear armor, hubless wheels, dolphin submersible, this show had it all!
This is actually the plot to the live action He-Man movie
I'll remember always watch this show after back from school. Can't believe now is more than 30 years since the show first aired. Lots of innovation and technology change., just like back to teh future :D
I used to yell from behind a desk fan and call it my "robotman voice" because the effect is so close to this.
Interesting cgi animation
Unfortunately, the future technology of "happiness" is far from the truth.
But WTF is that😾😾😾😾👾👾👾🤖
Ahh just that stupid monster😾😾😾😾💀💀💀💀💀
I remember the opening music, so nostalgic
we need a beyond 3000
Oh the memories. What a dope intro. Can someone sample this beat?
There AREN'T any "jobs people don't want to do", that's nothing more than propaganda from people who are afraid of actual work. And I say that as someone in the Robotics industry.
As an Australian who grew up with Beyond 2000, this is like alternate reality stuff!
Monday nights for me back in 1995 was this at 7:30pm, acting as a warm up for the main course that was Movie Magic at 8pm
2021
I love how they edited in some ultra cheesy sounds everytime the robots moved
This was the best show
Even the speculative F-19 , Stealth Fighter👌
Love the opening music!!!
Wonder what ever happened to Henry Tannenbaum?
