Catalyst Carbon Pros VS Catalyst GWB
I just wrapped a loop of HME rubber wire around between the cams, similar to your bungee. I think it's thicker than your bungee, but the rubber coating makes it nearly noiseless. No need to take apart the housing.
Did you try that petzl with the plastic clip before?
I made a video for you (ONE STICKING). Let me know what you think.
Noisy ?? Is this video a joke? Maybe putting fresh air instead of petrol in my saw will keep it quiet too😂😂😂😂😂
Good tip, video! Ive been using poles from an old canopy, works good for practicing. Recently purchased 20ft. extendable pole, gives you alot of options! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the Climb! Have a great day! Steve
Those nylon bushings are money, great mod!!!!! Also liking the hook attachment for an aider using the versa button cut out!!! Thanks for sharing.
Maybe I missed it....what does it do better than a quick-link?
Can you send me a link to by the catalyst great white Buffalo climbing tree steps.
The company went out of business but i do have a set of 4 that id sell. If interested email me at realdealamsteel@yahoo.com
Ok thank you....
I'll email my email address. 👍
You should try the JX3 climbing sticks. I own 3 different types and the JX3 are the best.
I had them and sold them. Great sticks paired with the jx3. But several options id choose over them with any other setup
I bent a 20" Shikar FXD permanently, OOAL replaced the shaft and I ended up buying the foldable Shikars in 17". 17" shafts don't bend half as much, very solid at 250lb. I find FXD much more useable though. The inline packability is nice and the standoffs never rotate while setting, which happens on the foldables on almost every climb.
Call it the Trump Humper after yourself!
I know this is a2 year old video but have you tried the Hunt Arsenal Icon X20’s yet?
I have not. Tried every new stick but those. I think if they made a fixed version they would be really nice. I dont see an advantage to them collapsing a few inches.
@@srtsaddlehunter3285 thank you for your opinion.
3:20 Some of us like to be snugged up in a tight crotch......
Buy made in USA.!
I realize this is 2 years old, but how does the Tethered Skelators compare?
I would say they are 1 of the best sticks at the price point. Something in the area where the industry was missing. Same thing goes for the xop x2 sticks
That’s an expensive tree you have there
Just ordered 3 aiders 1 two step and 2 single step 15" and also 8' rope mods
All that work a long video to watch, I appreciate it but if you had to buy one for your sons birthday and it was his first time using climbing sticks which one would it be? put price aside thank you
How you liking it now
Alot. Did alot of hybrid hunting last year and plan to this year as well
@@srtsaddlehunter3285 awesome I just ordered one I’m feeling psyched. I think it’s going to open up a couple new spots for me to hunt that were tricky to do with my normal saddle set up
Who dis goofball?!?!?!
Wow.😮 Shrink tubing use is an surprise. Great idea. 💡
I switched to a band used for braces. Works extremely well
Once again as being brand new to Saddle Hunt doing that complete seems to me to be the only way to go anything other than that would be like buying old technology being able to do this in the dark in cold conditions camcleat really removes the risk of doing it wrong and makes me feel more safe
Being brand new to Saddle Hunting, the thought of spending that much money and having to customize any of them absolutely puts purchasing those ones out of contention. If it doesn’t work out of the box I’m scratching it off my list. Thanks or the video
Noisy, pricey and I can already see somebody falling out of a tree from that pin popping out from hitting the tree. Death trap
No they work great thanks
Thanks for the video on how to use these!! I just picked up a set and wondered how to use them properly. Just a thought, but you should put a link on your product page to this video.
You're right...i need to do that for many of my products...i hope you enjoy them
I like it! I one stick using a running bowline knot. This is the next step. No pun intended.
These work great!
I have the v3 quickie and all I did to silence it was just take the pin out, cover the holes with hockey tape, cut the holes out, and slide the pin back through. Doesn't rattle or have any play.
Still haven't figured out what it is.. Lol
It's a daisy chain rope mod essentially with a fancy prussic knot. They work great
Quickies aren't noisy when there's a rope attached. Always have the butt end of the pin against the tree. That is all.
Running Bowline. Easy to tie and no metal. Just a thought. Great vid.
You need to learn how to read a scale. NOT 5.88 pounds. 5 pounds, 8.88 ounces, just over 5-1/2 pounds. Still, it's HEAVY.
Sure would’ve been nice if you would’ve shown us how you set everything up I’m trying to learn how to SRT and I’m watching people climb but nobody shows how they’re doing it
Good video, only concern I would have is that the bungee is going to prevent you from seating the rope as deep as it's supposed to go into the cam, could make it more prone to pop out of the cleat potentially.
Ive considered that as well but its never been an issue for me...know theres alot of others doing it as well and havent heard anyone say they experienced any issues
Can a quick link be used as well
When will these be on the website and what will cost be?
Found them. Please disregard
Great device
No thanks. Too much work, too much noise.
Work is how you find the good spots. Don’t think it was that noisy either considering he wasn’t trying to be quiet. Sticks and climbers are just as loud. Plus once you hunt a spot you can leave a preset loop and then there is very minimal noise
@@ethanh4973 Sticks and platform, or sticks and stand hybrid set up I'll be up a tree ready to hunt quicker and quieter than him every time. Limbless tree and climber even quicker and quieter. I don't need more work than what already works. No difference to this method and finding good spots. And no thanks to relying a loop in a tree that squirrels have gnawed on and I can't see...
@@truhrtwins7079lmao you don’t climb on the preset. You pull your rope up with that. Easy to discredit an idea when you don’t even understand how it works. I’ve hunted with climbers and sticks also. If it’s a close walk I’m not doing this. But this method is quiet when you know how to do it. SRT is also way lighter to carry in and an equal amount of work as climbing/sticks when done properly.
So tell me does it make it a little easier to ascend?
One of the better SRT climbing videos I have watched, I really liked the voice over after you shot the video. Great job. 👍🏼
The EWO's seem to be the ticket as you can add a platform...My 3 step Helium's are just too heavy for this old ass!
Can you replace the spring? Let’s say a friend messed up and now the spring is all jacked up. Asking for a friend, lol?
Hey luke are you still one sticking? If so what set up are you running?
Yes sir. Running my own stick. Build a few for customers out in the shop right now. Check out my offerings at rdaoutdoors.com. Thanks
Buen día vivo en Cancún México me interesan unos me gusta la cazeria cómo le acemos amigo saludos
Do you have any of them api step that you took off that you would sale. I had one to break in half on me. Thanks
Yikes thats the 1st i heard of 1 breaking...unfortunately i dont have any extras
@@srtsaddlehunter3285 k thank you
I do like the knotch Quikee but it is definitely a little noisy. What size shrink tube did you use?
Where did you get those orange hooks from? I like that.
You can order "TAU" Tether Adjustment Units from RDAOUTDOORS.COM
Also do you ever use the srt step to stand up higher when your moving your stick up the tree. I use a long climbing sewn loop and a prusik to stand up when I’m moving my one stick and I’m able to get another 18-24” a move
I have never tried that. I have made the srt kit a bit better and more packable using amsteel...i sell it as a bundle for about $100
Thanks for the video! How are you liking the 15” stick? Are you able to use the bottom step without bumping your knee? I heard some people complaining about that with the 12” sticks.
Hey man yes with the larger platforms i struggle with hitting my legs on them...even with the 15in post...however since this video i started my own company called RDAOUTDOORS.COM i sell a 1 stick setup and i offer a wider bottom step that solves that issue
@@srtsaddlehunter3285 awesome I’ll check it out
Girth hitch Amsteel loop on foot extension to your ascender, don't sew it this way you can remove and replace if needed.
