After 40 years of using grounded coffee and now retired, the past couple years I been rolling around the idea of trying whole bean coffee, might depend on if theres such a thing as an affordable electric coffee grinder, because I'm not grinding by hand, it's an age thing..... One thing I noticed in all these years of coffee making, if coffee sits in pot for 5-15 minutes after brewing, the coffee taste better, after 1 hour it's not so good........

I'm sorry, but, as a Scientist I have to comment on your statement that a mug or cup (or anything) is better at keeping something hot but not good at keeping things cold. It's both the same, there's no difference when it comes to thermal energy. In either case, losing or absorbing heat, there's a near vacuum and there's the aluminum alloy sides that only contact at the top. There's radiated heat energy as well. So where different cups would be better or worse, the same cup wouldn't be any different at all for practical reasons at eather retaining or absorbing heat within the range that us people are referring to. Heat either goes in or out, and the more heat, the faster the rate. Period. No matter how efficient. And the only scale that matters is kelvin, which our freezing to boiling of water range is negligible. It's simply not possible what you stated about the "lacking keeping things cold department". It the same "goodness" either direction.. in practicality
