She was the vision seen by Aegon The First, Conquerer of the Seven Kingdoms.
Dumb & Dumber should never have been allowed to work in Hollywood again after what they did to her character. That final scene D & D pulled straight from "Triumph of the Will" is the epitome of the screenwriting crimes against her story arc. I only watched that show to see her win it all. And where is the REAL ending we deserve? Nowhere, because GRRM keeps finding other things to work on instead of finishing ASOIAF. What a waste of a decade, investing in that story.
Then the powerful she got the more of a tyrant she actually became. She couldn't save herself from HERSELF. She meant well at first when she was nothing but then lost track of why she was doing what she was doing as her reign got stronger. She didn't like that they wanted to kill her as a child but killed hundreds of thousands of children in kings landing. Innocent ppl, and even when the bells rang to give her back the throne she burned down the city she so desperate "wanted" She wanted John not to have his real identity meanwhile he suffered the most of them all and fought harder and was loved, and knowing he was the last male heir to a family she thought she no longer had so she wasn't alone but she didn't care.she wanted it to be about her and her only. I'm glad they killed her at the end. Especially when she said ppl no longer had "A choice" it was her way and that's it. Ms chain breaker put em all back in chains until John set them free from the wraith ahead

Jon saw that Tyrion was right -- Danaerys had changed. She could have, and should have, stopped the attack on King's Landing when they rang the bells signaling their surrender. She killed thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women and children for no good reason. Jon realized she could no longer be trusted to be a fair and just ruler. He knew many more innocent people would die at her hand if she became the Queen and sat on the Iron Throne. In his mind, Jon had no choice.

She showed no mercy to the citizens of King's Landing. She changed at the end. She was no longer the fair, just, compassionate freedom fighter she once was. She was marching down the same path to insanity like her ancestors. If she were to take her place on the Iron Throne, it would have been a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss..."

Yes, it's true that Danaerys was a victim many times in many ways. The problem is she sealed her fate when she slaughtered the residents of King's Landing. If she had shown mercy and stopped the attack when they rang the bells signaling surrender, she would have had the support of the other six kingdoms and taken her rightful place of the Iron Throne. She made the wrong choice and suffered the consequences.

I guess if her surrounding her instead of hailing John as a king, if at least he was at her side trying to calm her down after she lost 2 dragons and Missandei, if Tyrion hadn’t been running from her to Cersei all the time, if only she got somebody’s genuine support at that side of the sea… She fought the war with them, they wouldn’t have won without her. And what she got after? She lost Jorah, 2 dragons, Missandei, everybody things John should be a king, Cersei betrayed them… That’s really unfair. As if they just used her and that’s it. I agree she shouldn’t have burned the capital, but she also should have had somebody on her side (besides the army) and the throne she really deserved ✨
@@Zunna_fire Fair points. It was just very troubling watching Danaerys become the very type of tyrant she spent so many years fighting against. When she used Drogon to destroy King's Landing, it was pretty clear that she had lost the compassion she had for people and replaced it with...I'm not exactly sure. Maybe a desire for vengeance? A sense of self righteousness? In any event, from that moment we knew she would never be the same and that she had fundamentally changed in a negative way.

It really doesn't make sense how she just goes batshit crazy in the last few episodes. There's no triggering event for her to snap like she does and burn the city to the ground. "I'm not here to be the Queen of the Ashes," my ass, did y'all forget you wrote that line? And I still hate King Bran. He's just a creepy weirdo.

Problem #1: You say she was under a lot of pressure, and I agree. She had dealt with pressure before and was able to keep her composure and keep a level head. The way she handled the Westeros campaign shows she was losing the ability to be fair, just and compassion from the start. Problem #2: You said she believed those around her were betraying her, and your point is somewhat valid. The fact that Varys turned on her demonstrates that he saw she was changing -- and not in a good way. Her mistrust in her closest advisors points toward growing paranoia. If they hadn't rushed the ending, they could have developed the descent of Danaerys better, or they could have have taken a different path. Imagine if she had stopped attack on King's Landing when they rang the bells signaling surrender...
D&D were the ones who did Daenerys and Game of Thrones dirt by their cynical and careless attitude toward both.

Daenerys was like John Brown the crazy abolitionist she did the right thing but went too far. So aside from the fact that the story makes no sense, the showrunners wanted to convey that Daenerys is out of her mind and would potentially kill his (Jons) family. So he preemptively stabs her.
