I think the pinks that I've joined up, I think one should be a separate one for the boot open. Will need to pull it all apart and trace which one it is, don't know why they didn't make it a different colour or has a trace in it..... Totally my error so just need to find the time to repair it, it's so annoying every time the car unlocks the boot opens 😑 I've just disconnected the boot for now 😅

You need to put something there to use the liner clamps, if not it will push the liners out which I'm trying to avoid. It was just easier to cut up an old oil ladder.

I have a precision staight edge which I use, but you can use a steel rule on its edge and a torch behind.... I might put it in my next video of the various methods that can be used, as well as checking liner heights.

Yes it's basically finished apart from a little bit more programming to talk to the emu black. It's on hold at the moment until the end of the race season when I can concentrate on it a bit more. I used the ecu master wiring pack. Comes with pretty much everything

The new unit came with new gaskets, I'm sure you will be able to get the gaskets separately from ford. If it's leaking from the front, I would say the top plastic cover is faulty which means you probably need a whole new unit.

@MartinJones123 after replacing mine, it still chucks oil out, so don't even think the old one was faulty. Replaced all the hoses aswell with new genuine ones. Think I must have bore score or it's leaking through the valve stem seals, creating crank case pressure. Only happens when I send it though not on normal driving.

@@gregoryelgood That's no good at all! What are the symptoms of bore score or valve stem seal issues? Mine seems to be leaking around the plastic lid area...

Would need to drive in reverse for a while to coat the rest of the car 😅

@@mechanical-adventrues just a standard cover, I just sanded the top until it went through to bare alloy

​@gregoryelgood so just take the plastic cover off the 160 vvc engine and santa it down to bare alloy that 16 valve twin cam writing on the engime is that under the plastic covers

@@mechanical-adventrues the centre bit which say rover is plastic, I used a silver sharpie to colour that in, the rest is alloy so can be sanded down

I'm guessing the 100kpa is atmospheric pressure and if it was struggling to run it would cause it not to build much vacuum? I had to richen it right up for it even to run for a split second. If everything was batch firing and timing is out 180° I think that my issue so I'm currently changing flywheel to the later type to remedy this issue hopefully.

@@gregoryelgood even in batch fire there is no way an engine at 1000rpm with intake manifold will be at 100kpa . there must me an airleak
