It's a wonder she had any skin on her face, arms and hands at all after that morning regemine!!!😲 Joan was lovely when she was younger, but her vanity and greed aged her beauty. The ugliness she had inside, showed on the outside. Faye was amazing in her portrayal
All I’m focusing on is her routine and how some of what she is doing is actually bad for your skin but they didn’t know better back then. Like the hot and cold water instantaneously can burst blood vessels and do permanent damage. Also the harsh scrubbing on your skin is also not good for your skin.
The original opening was supposed to take place on set of the movie she was making. Joan injures her ankle on the ice rink but refuses to stop shooting. It was supposed to show how devoted to her craft she was. For budgetary reasons they went with this opening, instead.

Her life wasn’t sad. She had a tough childhood but managed to become Queen of Hollywood for more than 10 good years followed by bigger (and no less greater successes) further on. She was married 4 times and had lots of friends, support and money. She needed anxiety meds most likely which in those days professionals and doctors were less educated on treating or identifying.
@@philipdraper7284 you are very wrong. Her adult life was sad. Sad can mean different things. She had one tragedy after another. Being Queen of Hollywood does NOT mean happiness. You should know that.
@@jartoberhmm I’ve read about 10 bios on Crawford and seen all her films and most of her interviews. I’m unaware of the tragedies she encountered outside of the same we all encounter, namely aging and loss of beauty and death of close friends and relatives. Part of the ups and downs of life. She was probably abused as a child, sexually and physically which was definitely a terrible burden to bear but Joan was a fighter. She never wanted a pity party. Agree to disagree
never understood why the film got such bad press...Dunaway was brilliant in my opinion and the rest of the cast did very well also...was never bored for 1 second of the movie...i thought it was well done
Whenever I do a 6am shift, this music is always playing in my head as I'm getting ready, showering, then coffee.. NOT ANYWHERE NEAR the elaborate and glamorous set up that Crawford had here !
The fact that even the signature for Joan Crawford is super close shows you how much attention she paid to the character! I looked it up once I saw it out of curiosity and it looks very similar.
@@angedenpeacelove_411-00 I didn't know that, I know cold water is good for the face and prevents dry skin but I didn't know ICED water was good too. Thanks!
That bathroom scene was always so nice to me. It showed you how anal and persistent she was about her appearance and hygiene as a star, but its got so much ASMR quality to it.
Dianna Scarwid, for some reason scared me as much as Dunaway . What a strange looking woman . I just found her to be very odd....especially "because aaaam not one of yourrrr fannns!!"
@@robotzombie4754 honestly any place. just look up " Face Sleep Bandage" and you will find all kinds. Not Joan's kind exactly but something to mimic the affect
The music playing in the background, the thunderstorm, lightning strikes that glow in the car lighting up her face, etc. The atmosphere in this movie is unmatched.
I like that house and I would have brought it and I like that closet.. Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are in hell now b/c they were BOTH diva's and Bette Davis hated Joan Crawford and they did What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? They hated each other on set of that movie and Bette Davis was a heavy drinker and smoker and so was Joan Crawford*** Awful people in real life and both were losing status in Hollywood as they got older**
This movie is NOT about Joan Crawford. It is about Faye Dunaway. Opening, legend.

Faye Dunaway is a parody of Joan Crawford. If Shelley Duvall had been cast, it would have been a satire.

I was thinking the exact same thing!
If being a mother was a song it would be this.

It's really a shame that Faye hates talking about this film and hated its legacy.
At best Joan Crawford was only average looking in real life.
Her big eyes and small fame carried her. But she had a big ass head, IMO
How many pairs of shoes 👞 did she have in that closet at 2.40?
that signature--perfection❤
mythique
Isn't the movie a bit fast also the music?
regrese fuckers
Opening MGM ⭐ Royalty Ms Joan Crawford 💋
4k Release in June!! YESSSS
That long pause right before she says "Let's go!' totally summarizes Faye Dunaway's Joan Crawford 😅.
This is what James said was fire
I adore this scen3, brings my childhood, music name?
I get goosebumps every time
Amazing scene without a word in it, Oscar worthy. 😮😮
This movie is to die for ❤❤❤❤
The beginning reminds me of getting up early for work lol
AWESOME
The best opening of any film. The music is so sad, like Joans life. I still want that coffee maker. Lol.

This is how I feel anytime I get up early go get dressed up for something and get into the back of an Uber. 😂
So what is the clear liquid Joan pours into the bowl of ice? Water? Rubbing alcohol? Witch hazel? Hydrogen peroxide? Rose water?
witch hazel
You seen how she was washing thst face? 😂 NUTS!!!

The morally corrupt Faya Dunaway. …I mean, Kyle’s mate.
Is the ice a form of skincare?
Tightens pores and reduces wrinkles, even now they recommend it

A brilliant actress portraying a phenomenal movie star. Love Joan always will.
What did she pour into that ice?!
witch hazel

As much as I would love to be an actress i could never bring myself to do all the nasty sex stuff she did to become one😅
Was she sleeping with wraps on?🤨
yes, it's common back then to keep the skin tight. People still do it

Besson’s a pretty decent director.
Rewatched it in celebration of my birthday 💕💕💕

wonder what she puts into d ice cube tub & what was it for?
Witch hazel to help keep the skin tight
Faye Dunaway was amazing in this movie
Faye dunaway is tremendous in this film portraying Joan Crawford
watered down for the US
after watching these first 5 minutes of film , you have now just turned into a gay man--- you're welcome!
This is Kelly Macdonald’s best ever performance. Watch this video loads of times.
It's interesting how she washes her arms and hands and then showers anyway. Shows a bit of OCD there with neatness.
