Great video, thank you. Small correction: the designer has clarified on BGG that during the Witch’s first turn they may spend their two action pawns on either villagers or basic actions on their board. However if they choose villagers with both actions, they must be of the same type.

A fantastic explanation of the game, as usual! Your use of graphics is very helpful. This game is available on Board Game Arena (BGA) but I may also purchase a hard copy of it too. Definately more interesting than the original Splendor. Bruno Cathala is one of my favorite game designers.

Looks like a simple fun game that incorporates light exploration, character upgrades, and tower defense.

Hi. Thanks for your work. I used this to kickstart my play. I believe you got the game end trigger slightly wrong? The end of the game can be triggered in 2 ways. A) A player moves their 4th Rat onto the Launchpad: In this case, the game ends at the end of the current round so that all players will have the same number of turns. B) A player places their 8th Score marker: In this case, finish the current round and then play 1 additional round. Then the game ends. 14:54 You missed out the additional round if it is ended by placing the 8th cube.

There is an official variant for 2 player which works really well. Basically is less workers and tiles, each round each player selects three actions, leaving one unused per round.

Thanks for the explanation of this version of the game! The coop multiplayer aspect, however, was not explained and is what makes this version different from other expansions. Please correct me, I'm only going off my impression here: does this game come with player tokens and warehouse for a 6th participant? How many card stacks would you use in a 6-player game? Or is a 6-player game by necessity 3 teams of coop, and how does that play: two people controlling one colour (essentially getting double the turns) or is there some alliance that different players can easily exchange resources and/or benefit more from an action their partner takes?

The best boardgame teacher by far.

10:46 The German Version says: Take any tile at the beginning of the round, you don't need to have a trading post there. This is how we played it. Take the 5 bonus coins and after that, we trigger the effect a second time and take another 5 coins from the tile.
