Hello. Thank you for the honest and informative videos on the Profitec Drive. In the week I have to wait for delivery of the machine (yes, I’m as excited as you were), I’ve been watching videos to familiarize myself. Yours are super informative. As this machine is a massive upgrade from my 30 year old Saeco Rio Profi I nursed along for decades, much to learn. I noticed you’re using a bottomless portafilter (rather than the single and double spout ones that come with the machine). Would you recommend that over a spouted portafilter for a beginner like me? Thank you. Raymond

Too fine grind/densely tampered - I can even see certain filter holes not being extracted

Hey beautiful and awesome machine. Have you ever done multiple shots back to back. How many shots do you think the boiler could handle before needing to recover. I once watch a video about the Bianca with this issue "not really an issue because it is a home machine". They have similar boiler sizes. Anyways curious if this could handle 10 + drinks. Thanks!

Can someone explain to me why everyone is drooling for the stepless mode? Do you really need that precision, where 6 micron is too large of a step for you?

Great video. Have you compared between Profitec Drive and ECM Synchronika maybe before you buy the Drive? I'd like to know your thoughts because I am considering those two.

I just got my drive also. But i cant seem to get the schedule timer to work. I've set my clock right and schedule a start time for each day. But it doesnt as intended. Am I doing something wrong? The machine is off and not in eco mode (and obviously power switch is left on)

Is not connect is not real that is fake. I ordered it is not working.

It's a small world. I just sold my Oro, too. When it was in the sweet spot, it produced nice grounds, but, it was very inconsistent. Unlike you, my budget could only stretch to the DF83 and DLC espresso burrs, but I'm happy with the results. I can only imagine how happy you are with the Mazzer!!! It looks like it was tailor-made for your setup.

I just returned a defective df64 gen 2. That was my first grinder. I was looking at the 078s, but the recent horrible QC is putting me off. So I am really looking at the philos. I still do filter and pourover atm, but plan to get my first espresso machine soon. I just can't believe my budget has tripled just trying to get a good grinder.

Wow, what a setup!!! I have the same grinder, but your espresso machine looks so much nicer than my Silvia. 👍 Have you thought about using a blind shaker, rather than the needle distributor?

Received this machine last Thursday. I noticed it heats up extracting fast, wanted to confirm if you experience same? It reaches 93 c in something like 8 minutes, maybe less, with fast heat up turned off and no need to flush, but also steam boiler is off. Is that correct or is the reading not right?

I've been enjoying using my Drive for a few days now. What might suprise some is I bought it to replace a Londinium. Those complaining about the weight of the Drive should try moving a Londinium. So why the change? Well, like you and your previous grinder, it wasn't reliable. Multiple issues, including two pump failures in four years. I was anxious every time I turned it on. I'm hoping German engineering will prove more reliable. The cleaning procedure was a good help. It's been four years since I back flushed a machine as you don't back flush a lever. My previous machine was a Bezzera, bought secondhand, it gave a decade of trouble free use. Let's hope the Profitec can match that!
