I've read both "When No One is Watching" and "One of Us Knows." I thought they were both good but I prefer "When No One is Watching." Out of the two, I definitely think that one is the stronger story. "One of Us Knows" was a challenge to read and I totally get how it was confusing to follow 'cause I struggled with that a little myself. I think the presentation of all the alters, or multiple personalities, could have been done better, for sure. I think there were too many alters and it did make it hard to follow at times. Overall, though, I like Alyssa Cole's writing style... but the story line itself was a little rough around the edges. This is only her second attempt at writing a mystery/thriller/suspense story (to my knowledge) and I think she's still finding her voice in this genre. WOW! "Book" by Whoopi Goldberg is a blast from the past! I read that back in the late '90s shortly after it was released. She's written some other memoirs also. I haven't read them all yet but I have read "Is It Just Me, Or Is It Nuts Out There?" and the more recent one called "Bits and Pieces" that she wrote as a tribute to her mother and brother. They were all really good! I've always been a Whoopi Goldberg fan ever since her first comedy special "Direct from Broadway" she did for HBO back in '85. Dang, girl, I am getting old! 🤣 I can't crochet or knit. When it comes to intricate things like that, I'm all thumbs and the yarn just ends up in one big knot, LOL! My best friend knits and she's made some beautiful throw-blankets and sweaters. I wish I had a talent like that but I just don't have the patience for it or the skills. Have a great day!!!

Do you have any other graphic novels besides Heartstopper? I recently found Ruined by Sarah Vaughn (author) and Sarah Winifred Searle & Nikki Smith (illustrations). It’s an adult regency romance book. Someone recommended Lore Olympus which is a hades & Persephone retelling.

It takes place during the Civil War... and since you're getting into Historical Fiction I think you might enjoy it. It came out in 2017 and it's only 252 pages so it's a quick read too! A Christmas book I'll be reading in the month of November is actually book 3 in the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore called "The Christmas Tree Farm." I just finished the first book in the series a couple days ago ("The Pumpkin Spice Cafe") and really enjoyed it. Once I finish McFadden's "The Boyfriend" I'll go back to the Dream Harbor series to read book 2 which is called "The Cinnamon Bun Book Store." Depending on how long it takes me to finish that will determine when I actually start "The Christmas Tree Farm." Probably the first week of November at this point. I just recently obtained the Kindle Scribe. I like the thinness of the object, and I mainly obtained it because I can jot down notes. Kindle just colorized their current items. I have sent an email to kindle support to see if they can upgrade the current subscribers (which I currently purchased in July) to color. This item is expensive however I do like this object. Most of my books are obtained through free technical sites, and I also read other categories. Love the reader.

I've had a Kindle Paperwhite for a few months now and I'm still very happy with it. Other than that, I own a Samsung Tab A 7 10"4 and it's perfect for reading books, comics, manga, etc. But, of course, I'll always prefer physical books. There's just something about reading physical books that these reading devices can't replace. Great video btw. I enjoyed learning about your Kindle Scribe 😊

Kindle unlimited isn’t for people who can’t afford books. Monthly subscription allows us to try before we buy especially with unknown authors. It allows you to read a ton of books. I don’t need to buy every book I read just the ones I love thus saving me money. KU is full of Indie authors that aren’t in B&N. You have that backwards. I have a paperwhite and like it cause it’s compact. My ideal kindle would be a color oasis with scribe capabilities. I love having every book I want in one place and no bulky book bag. I love what the scribe offers just not the size.

I'm old school... I only read physical books. No Kindles, no Nooks (the eReader from B&N), and no audio books. Maybe someday but, for now, I just prefer to read/hold an actual book. I just picked up a copy of McFadden's "The Boyfriend" yesterday afternoon. Haven't started it yet though. I need to finish my current read ("Can't We Be Friends" by Eliza Knight and Denny Bryce) first then I'll dive into "The Boyfriend." I ordered the new 2024 Kindle Scribe 64GB version. But I have had generations before of the Kindles, including paperwhites and even the DX monster that weighed a ton. Today I am primarily using a BOOX Palma for ultra-portability and storage capacity, since it has 1128GB (1.128TB) onboard due to the MicroSD expansion slot. But also, a BOOX Tab X 13.3" and a BOOX Max Lumi 2 13.3", and a BOOX Tab Ultra C Pro 10.3 color. All great, and all use the Kindle app, which I also have the Kindle Unlimited and the ComiXology Unlimited as well. I agree! Having access to many if not thousands of books at your fingertips is a very nice thing, to make sure you never without between reads. You can put down one book, and immediately start the next in series or by the author, or from some other genre, etc all without having to drive to the book store or library!

FYI…all kindles can show the book over on the Lock Screen but that feature has to be “unlocked” by paying $20 to remove the ads or getting a really nice Amazon CS rep to remove it as a courtesy. I have been unlucky with get it removed for free but so many people have been successful 🤷🏾‍♀️

I am a paperwhite girlie! I do love the paperwhite bc of the size. I love that it is portable and I find myself throwing it in my purse and pulling it out anytime I have to wait somewhere. You CAN have the book covers show up. You do have to toggle that feature on. I do have the Kindle Paperwhite without ads, so that may not be available for those with the ad version. I have a mag safe magnet that I have added to the case, so I can stick a popsocket on or attach it to my mag safe magnet in my car. I also love using a page turner, so I can go hands free in bed or on the couch with my floor stand.

I have been a Kindle girlie since 2011. Just got the newest Paperwhite Signature Edition that was announced a couple days ago. I am enjoying the slightly larger 7” screen and the faster processor, but I wish Amazon would have bumped it up to 8”, I think that would be the perfect size. Kindle girlies unite!!! 😂

I love my Paperwhite. I don’t buy a lot of ebooks because sometimes they can cost almost as much as the paperback. I do have KU and love it, but I wish they stop going up in price 😳. If you buy an add free Kindle, I think the currently read book opens up on the screen, but it an extra $20. What do you think about the new Kindles coming out? The Colorsoft Paperwhite?? Not for me for several reasons.

I also have the paper white, kindle scribe and kindle unlimited. One of the benefits of kindle unlimited is there are some books that you want to read but don't need a physical copy of and also my physical tbr is huge and I don't really have alot more space for many more physical books.

That's a cute purse 👛. I kinda stay away from books with magic 😅. I was surprised when I read A Love Song for Ricki Wilde had themes "curse" "voodoo" "hoodoo" . But overall, I did enjoy it. It wasn't too much. In a nutshell, I hope One Dark Window is a good read for you. I've got to try a Frieda McFadden book. I hear so much about that author.I have The Book Theif on my library TBR. The romance books you got seem like they will be good.
