Aquatint Worlds

In the late 18th century, British artists embraced the medium of aquatint for its ability to produce prints with rich and varied tones that became even more stunning with the addition of color. At the same time, the expanding purview of the British empire created a market for images of far-away places. Book publishers quickly seized on these two trends and began producing travel books illustrat...
The Revolution’s Echoes Music, Politics, and Pleasure in Guinea

Music has long been an avenue for protest, seen as a way to promote freedom and equality, instill hope, and fight for change. Popular music, in particular, is considered to be an effective form of subversion and resistance under oppressive circumstances. Excellent observations, it's noteworthy that the lecture was given before the world experienced the Covid Pandemic, was it to get rid of the undesirable humans. Has the level of human thinking, reasoning and imagination been hijacked by technology, like Chatgpt. High level of intellectual development indeed. Keep it up! How do we break down this kind of observations for the consumption of the humans on the streets!

    This would have been a more interesting talk if the professor has not injected so much of his own personal politics in the lecture. There is much to like about the subject and is worth discussing, but when speaking from a professorial point of view you should strive to remain more or less neutral, especially when your subtext is clearly to convince the unconvinced. But I need no convincing, and I see the writing on the wall as much as you do. But in spite of the fact that I'm generally on board, I'm actually turned off by your tone and your style. If you lose people like me who are already long ago convinced, imagine how you are received among those who opinion you seek to change. To my way of thinking, it is in fact the "pseudo-learned class" you represent that has more damaged the climate conversation than so-called "climate skeptics". You must be completely tone-deaf to how you sound to others except those of your class. The irony is rich when people like you is why people vote for Trump. But you just don't see that do you? Or is it just me?

    An issue related to the reduction in consumption is that of growth as it appears in the financial literature. Financing the retirement even of the middle class depends on the health of the stock market, which in turn depends on the growth in earnings of corporations, which depends on consumer spending.

    This is a conversation between two members of ruthless cabal of English speaking Indians who have cruelly arrogated to themselves not just the right to speak on behalf of the majority of Indians who do not speak English, but also exclusive monopoly on the English language by restricting access to English only to those who can afford to send their children to expensive English medium schools, and the attendant monopoly on all the benefits of the modern sector of the Indian Economy to which fluency in English affords an entry. How many Indians can afford to send their children to the Doon School that Mr. Ghosh attended? Why do these mentally colonized toffs put on Indian clothes when whatever it is that they have for a soul is caught in the prisonhouse of the colonial language?

    These are luxury beliefs. Everything humans do releases carbon dioxide, so you crazies want to control everything. There is no climate crisis. 10% decline in natural disasters since 2000. Accumulated cyclone energy shows no increasing trend. Global hurricane landfalls shows no trend. Downward global trend for total hurricaine numbers. NOAA: "We conclude that the historical Atlantic hurricane data at this stage do not provide compelling evidence for a substantial greenhouse warming-induced century-scale increase in: frequency of tropical storms, hurricanes, or major hurricanes, or in the proportion of hurricanes that become major hurricanes." NOAA data 1851-2021 shows no trend in number of hurricaine landfalls with the record high being 1886. The trend for over 7 decades has been downwards in the Pacific as well. Drought appears to be decreasing globally measured by SPI 1901-2017. Global trends show no increasing flooding frequency or severity. For every million people on earth, annual deaths from climate-related causes have declined 98%. Deserts have shrunk considerably since the 1980's. The Sahara shrank by 12,000km² per year 1984-2015. The Earth has greened by 15% or more in a human lifetime. The Great Barrier Reef's coral cover has reached the greatest extent ever recorded. On extinction the rate is very low: 900 known lost species for 2.1 million known species in 500 years, so from observations there are an average of slightly less than 2 species lost every year. Global temperatures maxed out in 2016 and have been lower ever since. There is no climate crisis.

  • @treefrog3349
    @treefrog3349 Рік тому

    Greed is the driving impetus of most of our contemporary human endeavor. The wealthy ARE the powerful "deciders" (G.W. Bush terminology) who determine the course and speed of the human trajectory. Therefore greed is Humanity's prime motivating force. Our untenable climate situation and egregious income disparities around the globe are prima facie evidence of those assertions. As a species, we have abandoned most of the historically-learned, culturally-shared, life-enhancing, humanistic wisdom that we have acquired over many millennia. Greed, more than an other factor, has blinded us to our own self-destructive behavior.

And what about the cartoon future they imagine for themselves and for us? For the most exalted among them, it's endless gatherings in the likes of Davos, Bali and Sharm-al-shakedown. For the less elite 'wannabes' among them, it's Davos-envy. And for the rest of us? Food shortages. Travel restrictions. Energy shortages. I do not need a PhD to do that nor does anyone else. I do not rely on others to think for me or to tell me what to think. If CO2 at vastly higher levels was not a problem for our primate ancestors 8 million years ago, why should it be a problem now. The Medieval Warm Period was much warmer than today. There were highly productive vineyards in Yorkshire. Try doing that today! People like Michael Mann are not true scientists. He is simply a highly paid servant of the global elites. Simple question, why will he not publish his methods and data? Any true scientist would do so readily. And welcome others to check his work. Your motives are political, not scientific. Remove the Earth’s atmosphere or even just the GHGs and it becomes much like the Moon, an airless, arid, barren rock with no water vapor, clouds, snow, ice or oceans, no more 30% albedo and hot^3 on the lit side, cold^3 on the dark. This is NOT what greenhouse theory says. It is what Nikolov, Kramm and UCLA Diviner say. The K-T diagram (TFK_bams90) counts 63 W/m^2 upwelling LWIR twice: 160 - 17 - 80 = 63 once and 396 - 333 = 63 second. LoT1 allows only one, the real one from the sun. Erase the 396/333/63 from the graphic and the balance is unaffected and the GHG warming loop disappears. 342 arrives from the sun, net albedo 70% or 240 makes it into the atmosphere, net/net 160 arrives at the surface. Per LoT1 160 is ALL!! that can leave. The 396 is “extra” appearing out of nowhere. The 396 is a theoretical “What if?” calculation for a BB at 16 C that serves as the denominator of the emissivity ratio: 63/396=0.16. IR instruments do not measure power flux, they measure temperature and infer W/m^2 by assuming emissivity and assuming 1.0 or .95 is assuming wrong. As demonstrated by experiment the surface cannot and does not radiate as a BB and as such there is no “extra” energy for the GHGs to warm whatever. For the experiment write up see: principia-scientific.org/debunking-the-greenhouse-gas-theory-with-a-boiling-water-pot/ No RGHE, no GHG warmng, no CAGW or CO2 driven climate change.

      That's the deception in the world. You will not change what is foretold to happen. Global changes are upon us all. The bible says in the latter days there will be wars and rumors of wars. Nation rises against nation and kingdom against kingdom and there will be famines and plagues and pestilences. This will be spawned off by what we see happening already. In the latter days, the Jews will regather in the Holy land. That happened in 1948. Other things prophesied is technology and the world connectivity ability. People fail to acknowledge any of it because they are born into it. They never even see the facts. As we move forward in time, the succession of events will be closer and closer together much like a woman in labor. The world was exterminated by flood one time. God says He will never destroy man by a flood again. This time it will be by fire.

      Climate "experts" are in denial of their failure to accurately forecast the climate: Since we've seen climate forecasts from the IPCC proven to be wrong - year after year after year - since we've seen Al Gore''s climate "experts" were wrong, since climate forecasts from "professor emeritus" Guy McPherson have proven wrong - and he admits it, since Harvard's Michael Mann was exposed as a "fraud" in court, since the insanity of the "climate experts" goes on and on and on ... since their detachment from reality and their denial of their ignorance and pompous "programming" is conspicuous to anyone with a functioning brain. Since forecasts for the meltdown of the Antarctic ice - from glaciologists - went from "thousands of years into the future" to "a hundred years from now" to "in our lifetime" to "within a decade" all in under four years of forecasts, and since the timeline for CO2 in ice cores is conspicuous disinfo because the true timeline for the Greenland and Antarctic ice is documented in historic records - and corroborated by numerous sources - since the paradigm of chemistry that is taught to the "scientists" is also intentional disinfo, since the timeline for our Earth that is taught to "scientists" is another psy-op of epic proportions, based on ludicrous theories about pangaea, continental drift, continental collision, the stratified layers of the Grand Canyon, the horror of the Siberian Traps, the cataclysms known as Eltanin and Nuuanu, etc., their nonsense about the Yucatan Peninsula and the extinction of the dinosaurs ... since the timeline for ALL of this is documented in historic records, including the timeline - and the forces responsible - for the broken and subducted tectonic plates, the timeline for the formation of our ocean trenches and archipelago islands, the timeline for the massive water erosion across our continents and islands, the timeline for the formation of the Grand Canyon, the timeline for the Siberian and Deccan Traps, the timeline for Eltanin and Nuuanu ... all of this is documented in historic records ... Theories about the history of our Earth are unnecessary because the timeline for our continents, oceans, mountains, cataclysms, Earth's expansion, Earth's climate and Earth's origins are all documented in hundreds of independent historic records, written in over a dozen languages from all across our Earth and corroborated by reports from the Indigenous and Aborigines - and since their timeline is corroborated by thousands of other independent sources while "scientists" prefer theories, their failure to develop a conscience, their love of pontificating their insanity on their very wobbly pedestals - with their head in the clouds - is horrifying - because the unintelligent fake science gods that graduated with their C average from low level institutions with minimal entrance requirements are not fooling anyone but the ignorant.

    you idiots, the math is simple, things that make more things we don't make more of them, women who have babies against all of our better judgement they still have babies; anything, owls, pieces of wood, anything that makes another thing, we cancel it out, until the earth can breathe again, and then we can do stewardship again
