Welcome to my Whisky Wednesdays channel where I share with you my passion for whiskies and single malt scotches! As a whisky aficionado for over two decades, this journey started through my involvement in the pipe band community. I've had the privilege of travelling the world competing, teaching, adjudicating and performing. These travels have allowed me to diversify my whisky palette and tasting experiences. I belong to two whisky clubs in my home city and also founded a business networking group called Business Over Whisky. These affiliations have enabled me forge friendships and strategic alliances with fellow whisky lovers globally.
As a subscriber to my channel, you can expect content that includes distillery visits, interviews with industry insiders, as well as whisky tasting reviews that cover 5 core areas: Colour, Nose, Palette, Finish and Pairing. Isn't water added AFTER cask maturation right before bottling? You indicate the Solist whisky is watered down first and then matured...

Yes you would! Try pairing it with some tropical or citrus fruits to bring out the flavour!
Great review Darryl. I'm in Alberta and this product is available locally but I think it is the next edition because the ABV is 54.0% and the label is slightly different. I was really impressed with the nose on this and the fact that it was so fruity (rich fruit) and yet the peat was still playing a role (I got a sample of this through a tasting). It was like eating bacon and pancakes doused in syrup....not necessarilly maple syrup but sweet fruit syrup. I am sold on it and have purchased a bottle. Take care.
