After some time of constant video scrubbing and getting distracted laughing at Joel's old doom wad highlights I've found the original full stream video, it's from [Vinesauce] Joel - Doom Mapping Contest II ( Part 9 ) around the 10 minute mark ua-cam.com/video/w5QGOw9IO4I/v-deo.html&ab_channel=VargskelethorUncut%3AFullJoelStreams
This is back when his movies had a much higher budget. They were really good.
@@jeffrutledge1789 His first 4 movies are actually pretty good, I’m also partial to Under Siege 2 even though it isn’t that good. Having actual good directors and fun co stars helped

My issue with Bennett was he just nit picked things and for a longtime was the only popular person who reviewed Anime made before 2004. They is much better for reviewers for that now at least. His Review of the Violence Jack movies is still one of the worst reviews of anything ive seen as in he did not review it all yet hyped it up for episodes.
Bennett really has some bad takes, I mention Golgo 13 because he just doesn’t freaking get it man. I know him nitpicking was the style at the time, but it felt like these were genuine compliments, and he didn’t want to dig past surface level. But now we got much better anime reviews, you should definitely check out KaiserBeamz and their series Kyoto Video. Thanks for watching, hope you are doing good
Funny ass commentary vid about game of death I find it funny that the only "bad" bruce lee movie is only bad because they butchered the shit out of it after his death
They should have just flashed different episodes of manosphere podcasts to Blanka, would have made it more accurate to the games
U deserve more subs this was high quality
we have the same name by the way, only mine's spelled different
I'm so ashamed that I ever looked up to Doug as a credible critic, when you're a child, Doug is your hero, when you're an adult RLM, The Critical Drinker & Tony Bush are your heroes.
eh, Bennett got better later. Seen his recent stuff?
Super Mario and Super Luigi 's last names were ALWAYS Mario. That's why they are called The Super MARIO BROS.! ...AND Luigi in the movie was saying Mario is his birth Brother, but raised him like a father, God Doug is so Dense and unaware, NOT Just un self aware! Just unaware in General !
You were born in 2004? Then your opinions mean NOTHING To me! You literally missed everything! Missed the 80s and 90s, so did you really ever even live?
@@GaryTongue-zn5di That’s why I watched the Nostalgia Critic, so he could live it so I didn’t have to
@@myfriendcameron Oh man, Doug is the same age as me, so if you are reliving the 80s and 90s thru HIS lens over mine?..... You poor thing! 😲

Really cool of you to open it Silent Hill 1 style, I subbed RIGHT after that on general principle. There WAS a Jew Wario here....he's gone now.
This is my favorite comment

ME JUMPSCARE! Jokes aside great vid.
BusterCorp jumpscare. Jokes aside you do good video
Still occasionally watch NC (especially when it's Doug bring himself), Cinema Snob, and AngryJoe.
I dunno how you can make a video like this and not have a section about the giant document showing how awful CA treated its employees and site members
I did mention it at 5:12 when I’m talking about my earliest memories and impressions of CA. I didn’t really go into it that much because pretty much everyone knows about the doc, but it was something that made me put off watching CA for the longest time
you were born in 2004? Your 2 years younger than me
Doug had been nothing but kind to me personally. He was always willing to give back and was always friendly to me personally 😊
Somebody send this video to Tony Goldmark/Some Jerk With A Camera. He still remains bitter on anything related to Doig Walker and Channel Awesome after the document went up.
Tony Goldmark is like Spoony where he is far too addicted on Twitter. Goldmark’s content is great but his ego especially on Twitter is detrimental.
@@thecinematicmind Spoony frustrates me, he's actually doing videos with Curtis himself, yet he can't be bothered to script an actual review. He livestreams at random hours, rarely schedules them. He could legitimately make a comeback, but he's still addicted to goddamn Twitter.
Surprised you didn't bring up spoony or linkara with the other people on the site.
Honestly you could.make entire vidoes on them two alone...I would say Doug, spoony, linkara and cinemas snob was the four horsemen of TGWTG era of channel awesome 😂
@@michaelbirkinshaw8523 i think spoony's vids have definitely aged the worst.
@@angrybronyin terms of quality or content within them?
@FilthyTea a bit of both? Like the ff10 (or the one with the titis guy?) Opening joke is just bit hard to get through. The edge is just aged like cheese in some places, and all the drama spoony cased when he got himself booted from CA.
Good video that someone like Will Walker will fucking have a stroke watching.
I miss the old vs New series
Those videos were my favorite
#ChangeTheChannel
I like how you look 15 and 30 at the same time /gen
Making the video aged me 23 years
I’ll remember it so you don’t have to
Funny enough Bennett went to the same Elementary School as me. I was in 2nd Grade what little memories I had of him there I don't remember anything bad about him or good. I was 7 what can I say? We grew up in the same home town. I had a few encounters with him after he joined Channel Awesome. He sat behind me and my friend at a Weird Al show. My friend asked if he was Bennett the Sage he said yeah we got a little giddy. He was cool at times. I remember he jogged passed my apartment when I was on my bike and we talked. Also got a ride back home with him and another friend from a Con. I noticed he was always very reserved. He was quiet and was nothing like his onscreen persona. Its a common trend with entertainers. They put on a persona for the public but are very introverted in private.
Bennett seems like a nice guy, I hold no real grudge against him. It’s just his critiques of some anime is way off kilter. But I must admit, when it comes to the history/time/place of whatever he is talking about, he knows his stuff, genuinely well researched. But going by your account of Bennett off camera, I’m glad he’s a nice guy, and that’s all really matters. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching, hope you’re doing well
If it makes you feel better, Bennett hasn't displayed Jew Wario's hat in years. He put it up after JW's suicide. Then took it down after the revelations.
Yeah I’ve noticed that in his more recent videos. I was genuinely confused if either he didn’t know, or didn’t believe them. I’m just glad the cursed object is gone
@myfriendcameron I mean Doug and the other higher-ups covered it up for a while, not all the contributors could have known at the time till the cat was outta the bad. He'll even lewis put up a tribute review for him and the hat before he found put but that shit is long gone.
I was about to comment about how Phelous was the Rock Biter because I think he says one of his lines from neverending story but you already did lol I subbed by the way, I'm watching this while finishing up a review of my own lol.
One thing I didn’t mention in the video, the audio quality in Suburban Knights is terrible, so I probably didn’t understand them when they said where Phelous was from. Thanks for watching, and good luck on your review
Doug seems like a perfectly nice guy who's worst offence is that he's made some shitty content here and there. People legitimately seem to want to make everything 'controversial' nowadays.
I think the issue is that Doug himself has made some mistakes and bad choices here and there but I think the worst thing about him is that he worked with people who didn't have his best interests or the interests of channel awesome as a group on their radar. This is just my opinion, though.
And he was terrible at maintaining his little company
Nah. His worst offence is being complicit.
@iseeundeadpeople9 yeah the jewwario stuff was...not a great look.
@@angrybrony And stuff before that. That made everybody leave.

@@dr.wolfstar1765 ok "UA-cam is censoring my comments" guy
@@dr.wolfstar1765 Oh god you're one of those. And you liked your own comment.
So glad you recommended Nirvana the Band the Show. That's easily one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Needs more love. I used to watch Nostalgia Critic when he first came out. I was 13 years old and back then there were no videos at all like Doug's. Now comparing his videos to modern reviews is night and day. He was kind of the pioneer movie critic beyond Siskel and Ebert for movies. Which is why he was so popular. I always liked the other creators a lot on Channel Awesome and I was all about it. I even traveled to Canada to meet Doug and everyone from Channel Awesome. When I came over with a copy of To Boldly Flee there was a mix of reactions I took away from it. One, everyone looked uncomfortable. Two, I had apparently purchased a special edition of To Boldly Flee with a different poster on the DVD and it was signed by Doug and his brother. According to others like Todd and Lindsay they told me they didn't even know about this and took my copy and showed it to the other creators. They were insanely confused and seemingly upset. It was kind of a weird moment. Also as an add on to your point about why people thought he was funny. Well, I used to think he was funny because I was a socially awkward middle schooler with bad taste. But most importantly at this point in the internet UA-cam was really popular for pop culture parodies. Parody movies were still incredibly popular during that era of UA-cam and seeing people who mocked and review movies now essentially doing a parody of movies with creators we know and love, I see why we were suckered into it. Smosh did this quite a lot and references to movies, video games, songs, was guaranteed popular in 2008-2013. But To Boldly Flee was the worst and then after that is down hill for me. The era I grew out of the NC was his Scooby Doo review. After that it just wasn't the same and I grew out of his content. The other creators though I still support their channels if they are active and enjoy them still. I am nostalgic for this era of UA-cam and this was a time I really loved watching the videos people were creating. Sorry for the enormous comment. This is one of my passions growing up and this was an era of UA-cam I wish I could experience all over again. Great video and awesome to hear this from someone who didn't grow up on it like me.
I’m glad you enjoyed the NTBTS bit, it’s a show that definitely needs more attention. Hopefully its inclusion to why/how it does reference humor was a worthy segment. And to your point about why people thought CA was funny, I honestly never thought about the boom in parody movies being a factor. I’ll confess, I kind of don’t like those movies either. Scary Movie 1 is alright though. And your little story about TBF just adds to the narrative that everything that went into that movie was cursed. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching, hope you’re doing good.
That Star Wars episode is hilarious, they had some brass balls.
Good video, but you didnt watch all 900 episodes, so you didnt get enough info
If I had watched all 900+ episodes and said that in the video, nobody would have believed me. There is no winning
