This is what’s happening with me rn. I think I’m gonna carry back the pair of clowns and either keep one in the tank or buy two unpaired clowns

@@jman7655 my female died about a month after this. Just stopped eating completely. Lasted about 6 days. I brought the male to my local shop and traded him in for a new fancy pair. I also used that opportunity to restock the tank and added most of the fish I wanted at the same time as the new clowns. Then added a few more about a week later. All worked out well but now I have a Tang that’s the new boss and ain’t no way I’m even attempting to add any more fish now. He actually tried to bully the week 2 additions which included a large Foxface. Took him about 3 weeks of being stung before he gave up. I know I should have added the tang last but I was too impatient. I think if you are going to swap out the clowns, maybe best to add all new live stock together or very close together and if you are going to add a tang, add him last. I would say the same for most angelfish too. My coral beauty would defo be the tank boss if it wasn’t for the Tang, so I think the balance worked out well for me. Just know that Clownfish are relatively easy to catch but other species are not, so be very careful with your choice of species. What works in someone else’s tank might not work in yours. So many variables. It’s very much a trial and error type of hobby but I guess that’s what makes it so rewarding when you do get it right. Best of luck with it, I hope you get it sorted 👍

The pump is reasonably quiet. Definitely a lot quieter than the stock pump. The tank is in my bedroom too and i’m fine with it. Thanks for the comment!

@@SeckysReef Can i ask what size eheim you got . 300-600 or 1000 and do you think a 600 would be enough for this tank ?

I use the Red Sea Coral Pro Salt and I do not dose. Most of the elements are repclaced during my waterchange. Im sure your corals will get better, if your tank is new it would most likley be a little unstable. My tip is that stability is key and I would rather have stable peramaters rather than chasing the best levels. Thanks for commenting!

Appreciate the kind comment! The mangroves I have are the ‘Red Mangrove’ species and I bought them at 9 months old. About corals, many local fish stores do appropriate prices just keep in mind that they do get expensive. I can recommend some websites that are based in the UK which are kraken corals and prestige reef. I’m not sure about any outside of the UK but i’m sure their is many. My maintenance schedule is pretty simple as I just change a big amount of water around every week. (40-50%) I do such large water changes because I have no skimmer and a high bioload for 5 fish. It works for me because i have a smaller tank so it isn’t that hard to do. I also change the filter floss every week. A super thank you for commenting and happy reefing!

Thanks! Glad your enjoying it! Just be careful when adding the nem as they can go walkabout around your tank- stinging all the corals it touches, other than that, it’s a truly stunning animal to look at!

Great suggestion! Never realised that their was I creature that could fit in a small aquarium that eats aiptasia naturally! Might have to try that!
