What was wrong with him? Was he sick? Three starts to the song...
He said he was all choked up and emotional. He had dedicated this song to his friends who have since passed away.
I understand. Thank you. I just saw him July 20th in Vegas and it was amazing. ❤

Hello Johnstown Johnnies: My fellow classmates, friends, teachers, and parents. I would like to begin with a quote from Immanuel Kant: "Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play." Without the past 4 years of high school, we wouldn't have gained the valuable theories that will guide us throughout the rest of our lives. We should thank our teachers and parents for showing us the aforementioned theories, so we can set forth into the world, creating our own path. In this world we will be gaining the experiences, so we can pass our own theories down to future generations. When focusing on the future, we need to remember the past. During the past 4 years we have experienced so many highs and lows. From the unexpected online schooling of 2020 and all of the adversity that followed, to the growth of our school, including new buildings, a renovated stadium, and the welcoming of new faculty and new students. It's also a time to remember where we came from. A time to remember the parents and the loved ones who had such a positive influence on all of our lives. A time to remember all of the teachers we had over the past 12 years who taught us such valuable life skills in and out of the classroom. A time to remember some of the journeys that we have taken, such as the senior trip to Atlanta, the 8th grade trip to DC, and 5th grade camp, where we were the first class to have not wasted any food during a meal. But today we shift our focus to the present. And now is a time to celebrate! With experience we triumph, and triumph we have. The graduates before you are proof that we, as a class, have persevered and have overcome the challenges that were set before us. But this isn't the end; we will face many additional challenges along life's journey. The first rent check, starting a career, the advancement of our education, raising families of our own, and many more unforeseeable challenges. As graduates, the lessons we have mastered thus far proves that we can certainly not only take control of our future, but prosper! And this is again thanks to the people I stand in front of today, our teachers, our mentors, our coaches, our parents, and especially all of you. Classmates, you are the people who have learned the theories, and the people who will turn those theories into experiences! So please, make good choices, be kind, plan for the future, but live life to the fullest! Finally, I would like to leave you with a quote from Allan Rufus: "Life is like a game of chess. To win you have to make a move. Knowing which move to make comes with insight and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are accumulated along the way. We become each and every piece within the game called life." Congratulations on everything you've accomplished class of 2022.
