@rph8083 I just think it’s kind of like the DS-1 in that you probably won’t like the first sound you get out of it but if you work at it, you can find a sound you dig. But without the EQ controls like the MT-2 I think the capture on the ToneX is pretty close to useless for me. But I also don’t play heavy music, so take that with a grain. Thanks for watching!

Nice review, man. Pretty accurate representation of the pedal. It’s kind of like a modeler, there are sounds you will like and others you don’t. Some need some real tweaking. I read a comment that someone returned the Tonex One because he/she thought it sounded tubby. In some presets I get that, but dialing back on the bass or upping the mids fixed that no problem. Do you still have the pedal?

    • @GettinBetterWithDave

I create our sets in Ableton Live for our church at the moment, we use Arrangement view, we detune to 432 instead of 440, we fade songs at the end of tracks one into the other, we change tempos, we control ProPresenter (sometimes), and we control our lights (although that is very clunky) using a DMXIS and automation lanes with their Entec's VST plugin. I gave that information to help you see how all we use Ableton. My worship pastor is asking me to consider changing all of it to QLAB because he says it can run tracks and control lights. Are you at all familiar with QLAB to be able help me answer why or why not to consider changing everything over. Thanks!

From what I remember QLAB can be helpful with fireing multiple devices and programs at once, but it would not replace Ableton be any account, it would just share some of the load. Again, It's been years since I've used QLAB but I would been SHOCKED if it were able to edit and play tracks even half as well as Ableton does.

I have the dunlop mini volume pedal--- and have Black Country " The Secret Path"... that has a slot to plug in an exspression pedal... So if my reverb is last ,where should I put my volume pedal?

If you're using it as an expression its not actually in you chain, but if you are using the DMV as a volume, my favorite spot is the first pedal after drives.

Ok, what about if your leading worship solo and play rythm electric? And what are " Diamond"?

@@cassandrahuskey8866 great question! That maybe a exception to the rule. (Not that it’s a rule, just my opinion) However if you’re the only guitar on stage your dynamics become even more important, if you’re just strumming away the whole song, it won’t have as much dynamics. I would try to use some of those other alternatives to strumming first and use a big section as your time to strum more like an acoustic. Also, a “diamond” is a term I picked up in Nashville referring to 1 down strum per chord change. Thanks for the comment!
