Mt. Ashland Father & Son Ride (Rigid, Jones LWB - Full Suspension, Canyon Strive)
Переглядів 2402 місяці тому
Taking my 54-year-old dad (Jeff Jones) down some trails he hasn't ridden in a few years. He is riding a Titanium Jones LWB Spaceframe with a Truss fork and 29x3.25" tires. I am riding a full suspension Canyon Strive with a 29x2.6" tire in the front and 29x2.4" in the rear.
Jones LWB Spaceframe & Truss fork on local trails.

Riding my ridged bike on some old local trails in southern Oregon. Mountain biking here is fun and Jones is perfect for everything, very fast and comfortable on the climb just as it is on the way back down.

jones bikes titanium LWB with truss fork and carbon h-bar.
Great video! Nice bike, nice trails. The best part about this video is you riding the trails and leaving it at that. No obnoxious narration, no product placement. Just riding
Boring
You need to develop a story line, mearly watching the trail coming up is not interesting enough to hold your viewers interest, for long.
Another epic/beautiful Jones bicycle ride❤
Intense...
Awesome rides & the bike …..❤
very nice bike! Is it possible to just order the frame and truss fork from Jones. The bar seems pretty ergo as well.
Tire sizes?
29x3.25 Duro Crux front and rear.
@@korbinjones73 I run a fat front but wanna try the Crux tire. Thank you Korbin. Beamer is sick by the way.
Freaking Awesome ❤🚴🤪👍💪
Hp?
Very nice❤❤❤
THANKS :)
@@korbinjones73 bike check please
How did you hand and forearms feel throughout the ride? I have chunky stuff like this in the Northeast - Ive been thinking about a jones for a few years now...
They feel as good as good can be, it might take a few rides to get used to it if you have never ridden a ridged bike off road tho. The upright position and Plus sized tires with 'low' air pressure make absorbing the bumps and chunk quite pleasant. While not making as big of a difference as tires and riding position the vertical compliance of the the titanium Spaceframe is also very nice. Of course this is still a ridged bike so it's not gonna be crazy 'plushy' like a full sus bike and your going to feel the trail but that's why I love it, i'm actually riding the trail, not just floating on a cloud.
@@korbinjones73thank you for the feedback- I had carpal and cubital surgery so I think position is going to be my focus
'Spaceframe' in name only!
Mine sounded the same when I got my cat converter stolen
What's up with the truss fork???
At least in Ti, the truss fork is a bit lighter, but the main focus is on front-to-back and torsional rigidity. It makes it less forgiving than a unicrown, and not as easy to to mount bags, but it doesn't shudder at all in hard braking, and steers extremely precisely on tight steep downhill trails.
I know it’s not THAT much shorter, but do you have a noticeably easier time carving those tight corners on an SWB?
Short answer: Yes... Long answer: It's always hard to explain, but the SWB does ride this trail very well and SWB does noticeably take the supper sharp corners better. But with how steep and loose this trail is (the GoPro affect is real ) having the 29+ tire further out in front of me is a lot more comforting, forgiving and feels like I'm less likely to go OTB. But it does take some extra skill to get the long bike around tight corners. Also at the same time the SWB is much better than any other bikes ever ridden on this trail (full sus, enduro bike) because I'm further back and more up right, as well as not having the front fork dive if I hit the front brake, I also have a much more precise and a tighter turning radius with the Jones. that was a lot, haha. Hope that made sense.
Right here i have a slightly modified geo metro
Too long of chain or clutch issue? Why did it pop off?
Caught a stick

you are lucky!!
Why would you tear up a 740i just for another e30 v8 build? That battlecruiser didn’t deserve that fate.
I wanted to.
I like your list of items tended too. It’s the build sheet to be
Oh yeah. Nice red line upshift
Nice carved out and technically tested outback Forest run. Your last sigh told it all. Sweet
What bash bar is that?
I made it my self

Thanks man! Working on some videos right now! I also got the getrag420 and I’m excited! Thing is gonna be lots of fun.
@@korbinjones73 no problem and sweet!! Make sure you get the correct clutch slave cylinder with the corosponding clutch and flywheel combo you choose to use, otherwise you might have engagement issues
For sure! Thanks for the tip.
Can I install a worthy V8 into my 2008 e61 Thanks in advance.
@@marcussaiber6021 i would go with an ls or m62 hybrid block if you wanted to stay german
