90th anniversary of the RCAF Quebec, Sept 6, 2014
This is a video that I made on the fly-pasts of some aircraft celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force held at Quebec City on September 6th; the aircraft were a Fleet Finch, a P-51 Mustang, 4 CF-18s from Bagotville and the Tutors of the Snowbirds. We were on the Terrasse Dufferin in front of the Chateau Frontenac and the fly-pasts were over the St-Lawrence river in front of us. Numerous persons, including tourists, were present to see these aircraft do their stuff; many were dressed in gala wear for the anniversary ball held that evening at the Chateau. One of these guests was hockey legend Guy Lafleur, elegant in his gala uniform of a Honorary Colonel of 3 Wing Bagotville who was very busy in photo shoots with his many fans present there. A well-earned thank you to 302 Wing Quebec for organizing and reception of us Montreal Wings members who were present for the event.

Un merci très sincère aux membres de l'Escadre 302 de Québec pour l'organisation de notre venue pour participer à cette journée.

The AVRO ARROW MkII RL-206 finally flies after all these years of speculation of destruction of planes, plans and production dies. It would have been one hell of a plane, and one hell of a ride!
Arranging the Pipes into this grand auld march is something that took me by surprise. Smoke got in my eyes. Thank you for posting this pilotpierre.

Absolutely marvellous/merveilleux. I served 1953-1983, in the golden years of the RCAF and remember all of these aircraft; a few of which I flew into as crew. I also remember 16-aircraft box formations; these days are now gone. After retirement fron the CF, I had the great pleasure to dress in light blue again, as a member of the Secondary Reserve.

If only the plane could have had a chance to prove itself operationally. While it’s highly glorified; the aircraft was nothing but a test bed. I was in the RCAF/CF for 30 years, including time as part of an R&D crew at an aircraft factory and spent most of my long career in and around fighter aircraft.

2.5 starts running into heating problems. I think it would have stopped about there
Mach 2.5 was certainly the minimum speed calculated. I will undoubtedly agree with the anticipated mach 3 number. With further development of the Orenda Iroquois engines, the brilliant engineers at Avro were already working on plans for reaching mach 3 and conceivably mach 4.

The best Air Force quick march in the world (RAF/RCAF/RAAF/RNZAF)
Is this not technically a "fly past?" A "march past" is as it sounds, airmen marching.
When I hear this March past play, my mind goes back to my RCAF early days and flypasts of 16 T33s in box formation, low over the parade square, while this is playing.

At a Remembrance Day celebration last Friday there was a 95-year-old RCAF veteran to my right. He was so handsome it was amazing. He held it together until the band played this at the end. He wept and embraced his daughter,
Now the RCAF has emerged from the Canadian Armed Forces once again and is now the RCAF. Has been so for a couple of years anyway.
It is still part of the Canadian Armed Forces along with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Army; they have their commanders who are under a Canadian Forces Chief of Staff who answers to the Minister of Defense.
Through adversities we'll conquer. Blaze into the stars, A trail of glory We'll live on land and sea 'Til victory is won. Men in blue the skies are winging In each heart one thought is ringing. Fight for the right, God is our might, We shall be free.
